"We really enjoyed our stay and the surroundings were as promised with Epping Forest literally on the doorstep, with wildlife easily seen from the properties windows."
The property was clean and catered for our family well .The staircase was indeed steep but this was pointed out in the description and the shower and water pressure wasn’t strong but this could be down to the supplier I guess.Furnishings were fine with only the sofa being bit lumpy but overall we would be delighted to return and we were sorry the weather wasn’t colder to enjoy the log fire.In summer the outside area would be terrific for an outdoor barbecue and the fire pit looked great.

"This is a great family Cottage."
We have been several times now, it’s brilliant for visiting our baby grand daughter in Loughton. Very clean and tidy warm and comfortable. The Kitchen is very well equipped. We appreciated the welcome pack, the bread was lovely! . It makes a very nice break for us to be able to relax as a family while visiting our daughter in a gorgeous woodland setting.
Hello, thank you for your lovely feedback! So pleased to hear you have enjoyed your stays with us and we hope you continue to visit. Property Owner

"Lovely place, great location."

"Baldwins cottage was Brilliant."
Perfect family break. Lovely and clean with super comfortable bedding and lovely towels. The house was very well decorated and The garden was gorgeous and beautifully landscaped. I did slip over on the wet decking so be very carefull. The Dogs were very happy chasing foxes and cats so keep an eye on them!! Brilliant lovely cottage in every way.
Thank you for flagging this up, we have now treated the decking so this will hopefully reduce the chances of it being quite as slippery in wet weather. Property Owner

"The cottage is in a magical, peaceful setting with birdsong all day long and some absolutely stunning trees."
The cottage itself is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable property with high quality sheets and beds. Two things to note, which didn't spoil our stay, but would be an improvement 1) the toaster doesn't work, but we toasted bread under the oven grill and 2) the outside windows were very dirty and the drain by the yellow door is full of leaves which could be a problem in heavy rain. Highly recommended.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We will address the issues you have raised. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

"Very calm and comfy."

"A lovely house, really nice location."
Very cozy and comfortable and plenty of space for the children. Loughton was a nice little town to explore and we went for lunch at the Foresters Arms which was tasty. It was straightforward getting the tube from Loughton into the centre of London and being a bit further out worked well for us, as we could mix relaxing days walking in the forest with sightseeing places like the Tower of London. There was an issue with the fire alarm and the team was really helpful and came to the house quickly to sort it out.

"The most idyllic location, Epping forest literally through the garden gate."
Well equipped and comfortable cottage, loved staying there

"Our family loved staying at Baldwins Cottage so much we booked it again in a month!"
We live in North Wales and It’s ideal for us to visit our new baby granddaughter in Loughton. Being dog friendly was a big bonus.Walking straight out onto the forest path with the dog to see our daughter was perfect for us. We used The property to the max and it was beautifully decorated and comfortable,Well equipped and very clean and tidy. We were very lucky with the sunny weather in October so had a BBQ as well! For us as a 5 adult family it was the perfect place to stay.

"Would highly recommend this holiday property."
-
"Lovely stay, perfect location with garden gate directly onto Epping forest 248km of walks!"
Very secluded. Ideal for dogs, fantastic local pub food within a couple of hundred yards. Loved the arts and crafts styling. Hope to be back, we both have family connections in the area going back several generations, hence reason for wanting to be near Epping Forrest. Only recommendations for improvements 1) Anti-slip shower tray (currently quite dangerous) 2) extension of, or additional rope style bannister at the top of steep stairs as it turns the corner 3) replacing current sofa with an L shape one to allow two to lie down in front of a movie. Kind regards Kevin & Julia

"Liked the place very much since it is so close to the forest and still within a short drive from the Central line to London."
Only drawback was that it was a bit chilly in the mornings and maybe the heating could be set a little higher.
-
"A characterful property in an excellent location - lively decor and all the necessities provided."
Perfect access to Epping Forest with so many walks on your doorstep, but also plenty of local amenities. We wrote our wildlife spottings in the book provided and found some of the other reading material really interesting. We will be back and will probably pop into London in the underground next time.
-
"It's lovely cottage in a wonderful location in the heart of the forest."
Attractively decorated with high quality furnishings and a very well equipped kitchen. The only let-down is the rather chilly shower-room on the ground floor only accessible down steep and narrow staircase.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay. With regard to the downstairs bathroom, we do make this clear in our description to give prospective guests the opportunity to decide if this will be a problem for them ahead of booking. Property Owner

"A lovely spot, right on natures doorstep, a train away from the bright lights."
. The cottage is spacious enough, with a large dining room and kitchen, then into the cozy loud to take the weight off after a busy day exploring. The beds are nice and cozy to get a lovely nights sleep in the quiet surroundings.. enjoyed staying at Baldwins Hill Cottage.

"A very comfortable cottage, well equipped and perfectly located."
Some of the trees both oak and beech are magnificent. Extremely convenient for access to inner London with the Underground system. We would welcome the opportunity to return next Spring.

"This is the second time we have stayed in the cottage at Baldwins Hill."
Unlike the first visit when we stayed to help move our daughter into a property nearby we had more time to explore the forest and surrounding area. The house is comfortable and well equipped and staying over on my husbands birthday gave us the opportunity to engage Curious Kitchen a local private dining company to cater for a birthday meal with the house being an ideal setting. Communication was excellent before and during our stay and a third visit is not out of the question to explore more walking opportunities with our dog.

"We enjoyed a great week at this lovely cottage."
The property was true to its description and very well presented. The location was perfect for us with walks in the forest literally from the gate of the property. There is a good range of shops and a tube station in Loughton which is a short walk away (although quite steep on the way back!). We would love to visit the cottage again.

"We had a great break at Keepers Cottage."
The cottage is lovely inside, very clean and kitchen is well stocked with equipment. The garden and visiting wildlife very interesting to observe, immediate area was good to explore on foot and a bit further afield by car, also perfectly placed for day trips into London. We stayed during the heatwave this summer and would definitely like to come back at another time of year. Simone was very quick to respond and assist with a query. Look forward to visiting again.

"A sun shade in the garden would be good and a few chairs with backs on, very uncomfortable to sit out if you have back problems."
Folding ones would do. A non slip bath mat for the shower. A chair in the shower room or hooks for ones clothes. Bedrooms lovely. Garden perfect for the dog and butterflies.
-
"We had a wonderful stay in this delightful house."
It was beyond perfect for our circumstances as we were helping with our daughters house move and had not anticipated finding somewhere so idyllic to relax at the end of each day and to take evening walks with our dog. Would definitely return to spend more time exploring the forest and local area.

"This property is a total delight."
A beautiful cottage set in idyllic surroundings and decorated so very tastefully throughout. Everything you could wish for is provided and I have seldom stayed in such a wonderful holiday home. Right on the edge of the forest , waking up to birdsong every day is a real treat. I will definitely be back

"Just perfect."
The cottage setting is idyllic and you feel so far from the madding crowd. Baldwin Hill Cottage, is tastefully furnished, extremely clean and well equipped. You couldn't ask for more. Of note was the quality bed linen and bathroom towels. Would highly recommend and would love to return. We slept like possums here. Our dog loved walks in Epping Forest

"Perfect getaway location from busy life, feels like you’re actually staying deep in the forrest."
The house is decorated like a modern cottage and feels peaceful and calm. We had a lazy long weekend and the dog just loved roaming around the gated grounds. Check in and check was easy and the house has all the facilities you could need. Great communication with the co-ordinator who was on hand if needed.
-
"Fantastic property beautifully done up, really well kitted out and in a perfect location."
Thanks Simone for your great help and support.

"We had a very enjoyable time at the cottage."
It was a lovely touch to arrive and find a beautiful foliage Christmas wreath on the door and on entering a Christmas tree in the property it set the scene for our early Christmas holiday. The property was cosy and clean the surroundings and garden lovely. The security lights in the garden were welcome as being in the forest as expected it was dark outside. We had torches with us however it might be useful if one was provided in the property to use when unlocking the exit gate.
Thank you for your review. A torch is always available in the Cottage and sits on the bookcase in the dining room. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards, Simone Property Owner

"One of the cleanest holiday cottages we have stayed in."
Beautiful position in the forest. Everything we needed. Had not realised there would be provisions, which were very welcome.

"We though the cottage was awesome, really lovely, we had such a great holiday, it was just how we had imagined, so close to London, Epping forest itself was brilliant, we saw so much wildlife in the garden Our only issue was with the broadband / wifi, this is because our youngest son is disabled so we use a lot of wireless devices, a camera for his bedroom, his Ipad and Firepad which he really needs for his comfort zones, so our oldest boy didnt get to use his Ipad or Xbox, which in itself was a good thing :) We were out every day so it wasn't a major issue, that said, if you want to make the cottage just perfect then sort the wifi out."
Other than that, I would highly recommend Baldwins cottage to everyone. We will come back again as it was amazing.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage. We are sorry about the intermittent Wi-Fi. We are aware that Wi-Fi service could be improved, which is in part due to the location, but we are working with our provider to improve the incoming service. We are pleased to say that a new line with up-to 50mb/s was installed before Christmas 2021 Property Owner
