  • "Hi We had a great stay at crosswinds ."

It is a very nicely maintained and equipped lodge. Two things firstly the second bedroom has extremely narrow beds ,I went with 2 adult children and they were slightly squished!!!!. Also there is a lot of ornaments everywhere , which although pretty to look at ,makes the place look cluttered and would be very stressful for parents with little kids . The swimming pool and facilities are in the other part of the holiday park , a bit of a trek. But this part is much quieter and stunning views .we loved sitting on the deck and watching the sunset .the planes taking off was intersting .the lodge was very clean and well equipped and thank you for a lovely stay .

  • "We had such a lovely stay at this caravan in Crosswinds."

My son absolutely loved it and is keen for us to book again for next summer. The property was very clean, had all the equipment you could need such as washing up liquid, toilet paper, hand wash, tea towels (bring your own kitchen hand towel and apron). I do think fans would be an asset in the bedrooms though as it was really hot when we stayed. The only negative I'd say is that there are too many trinkets around the caravan taking up valuable storage space for the guests such as shelves in the bathrooms and in the lounge area. Plus, we had a 2 year old who just wanted to touch them all so we were paranoid about potential breakages. Also, a welcome pack would be useful giving information about the site, how to use the oven, what recycling is in place etc. The site itself (Whitecliffe Bay Holiday Park) is lovely. You have to pay for use of the swimming pool which was fine. We paid £43 for 4 of us at the height of summer for the week. Both indoor and outdoor pools are clean. Overall definitely somewhere where you can enjoy your holiday on the IOW.

Hi Heather, thank you so much for your review which I truly appreciate and all your comments. This is our first year of renting out our caravan and in all honesty hadn't thought about fans in the bedrooms which will be put in place as soon as I can get over to the IOW. I too didn't think about our ornaments and will ensure things are removed to create more storage spaces for the clients and to take the worry away of breakages If young toddlers are staying there too! I will also add a welcome back of info for the caravan, camp site and IOW. Great points and I am pleased you had a lovely time on the IOW. Kind regards, Kim Property Owner

  • "This caravan was beautiful, it had a real home from home cost welcoming feel to it."

Very clean and well maintained. We had an issue with the toaster and the waste pipe from the sink had come away on the first night (a Saturday) but after some quick and efficient call and messaging with the man at Wight Choice Cleaning (via the accomodarion contact number) he came out Sunday morning to fix everything. This stay exceeded my expectations the view from the balcony was stunning and the added bonus of watching light air craft take off and land at Bembridge airfield was great fun. You don't expect views like that at a caravan site! Only small recommendation would be to have a broom/dustpan and brush for inside and out. The grass was cut whilst we stayed there and one day was wet so the grass easily transferred on to the balcony which also meant it coming inside too. We did remove shoes at the door but again with beach days too I felt we could have helped maintain the cleanliness of the caravan with a broom. Apart from that a very well stocked kitchen, even plastic storage containers. These small but well thought about details made our stay as a family of 4 much easier so thank you! We'd definitely book again bevause we were close to everything we wanted to explore locally but also go West was only 50mins/an hour and the drive is stunning. Thanks again for a truly memorable stay my girls were sad to leave.

Hi Adele, Thank you for the lovely comments about our caravan and I am pleased the initial couple of issues got fixed. I believe there is a dustpan and brush in the bathroom where the boiler is located - stored in the cupboard. If not I will ensure one is in place ASAP. With kind regards, Kim Property Owner

  • "I have sent you messages about the fact that the washing machine wasn’t available to guests ,as was stated in the info on your website ,you told me via messages that it wasn’t when in fact it clearly was stated ,so on that score I marked you down !"

The van was perfect in every other way !

Hi Christine, Unfortunately this was an error on the main website as the washing machine was never meant to be included. I apologise for the misunderstanding. Pleased you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards, Kim Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The place was comfortable, clean, airy and had a lovely freshness to it. The view is attractive and is a perfect location for planes spotters. What we would have appreciated is more transparency regarding the cost attached to the use of the on-site facilities. We had to pay £32 for both of us. Beware that the price varies according to the time of the year and length of the stay and number of people. We stayed in the middle of May and for 4 nights. What was also a bit of a setback is that two days before our arrival we were informed by Skyes Cottages that since booking our holiday there has been a change to this property and that there was no more washing-machine at this property and this was an error in the description however a coin launderette on site was available with no mention of what that may cost. It was a bit of disappointment as this was one of our criteria for booking. Also upon receiving that email, I went to check online and the washing-machine was and it is still listed in the summary as so ‘Note: The washing machine is located in the lockable shed'. More transparency in this area would also have been welcomed.

Hi Marie, Thank you for your review and totally appreciate and understand your disappointment about the washing machine. This was an error on the website and a delay in the description getting changed. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Kind regards, Kim Property Owner

About the location

BEMBRIDGE

Ryde 7 miles; Newport 11 miles; Cowes 16 miles; Yarmouth 20 miles.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.
