  • "This has been the holiday to spoil all others!"

Honestly, the best holiday rental we have ever had. I have never paid so much for a holiday in the UK before but believe me, it was worth every single penny. An amazing conversion with everything to the highest spec, spotlessly clean, fabulous welcome basket - honestly, as a family we wanted for nothing. If you are looking for the freedom of a self catering holiday whilst being spoilt by your surroundings, this is the place for you.

I’m very glad that you enjoyed your holiday here and hope to see you again Property Owner

  • "Very likely."

Probably the nicest place we have ever stayed as a family. Superb property. Immaculately presented . Ideal space for 6 adults including accessible showers and ground floor bedrooms. Pleasant outdoor space and very well equipped. Only one concern is that parking for two cars could be a little tight but this should not distract from staying in a wonderful property.

Thank you for that lovely feedback. I agree that today’s wider cars mean that parking for 2 cars can be tight. We’re looking into ways of improving this Property Owner

  • "We were welcomed to the house and shown round by Susie, which was a lovely introduction."

Everything we needed was there for us and a lovely welcome pack. The house is beautifully decorated, with lovely attention to detail and with reference to the house's history as a chapel. It was perfect for our lovely family holiday (all adults). The only problem was finding the BBQ gas bottle empty, but this was a one off and if we had noticed earlier in our stay I am sure it would have been replaced straight away.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed staying at Chapel House and many apologies for the gas bottle for the BBQ running out. Now replaced. Property Owner

  • "Our second visit to Chapel House - this time under different ownership."

We were concerned things may not be as fantastic as our first visit. Delighted to report it was! Lovely welcome from Susie, the housekeeper. Lovely welcome pack. Spotless throughout Five star again! Only one tiny bit of negative feedback - check out is 10 am and checkin for the next lucky guests is 3 pm so we were rather disappointed to have gardeners mowing and strimming the gardens from 8.30 am while we were having breakfast in the garden. Maybe this could be done in the 5 hour handover time?

Thanks for suggesting that gardening should take place after checkout time. I’ll make sure this happens in future and I’m sorry that it spoilt your last breakfast outside. Glad though to hear that you once again enjoyed your stay at Chapel House and thankyou for the very positive feedback Property Owner

Susie the Housekeeper was wonderful, and especially helpful when the smoke alarm started beeping due to a battery needing replacement. She organised for the handyman to call round & it was fixed within an hour or so of our call to her. Excellent service. Car parking is perfectly adequate for a Ford Fiesta & a Renault Clio: no problems with space at all. Superb property in a lovely location. Would highly recommend this unique property which has been very tastefully converted from a Chapel.

The chapel has been beautifully converted and looks stunning! All three bedrooms are sumptuous. There was a lovely, friendly in-person welcome and a welcome pack which was much appreciated. The kitchen is well stocked with assorted crockery, pans, cooking utensils and pots. Lovely breakfast option of seating at the kitchen island and a beautiful large dining table. Lovely two sitting areas off the stairs on the upper floor. It was a wonderful and enjoyable experience for us all to stay in such a beautiful, well equipped chapel. Easy access from the chapel to shops, tourist destinations and the lovely beaches. Many thanks for a great holiday!

  • "Chapel House is a stunning building that has been cleverly converted into a comfortable and welcoming holiday home."

We particularly enjoyed the bright, light, open plan living spaces, the cosy snug and the sun trap garden. The kitchen was well stocked and all the appliances worked perfectly (although it would have been nice to have a bit more worktop space for preparation). The only real negative was a lack of recycling facilities: whilst there were separate recycling bins inside the house, we were told everything gets collected together. As avid recyclers at home, that was surprising and disappointing. Apart from that this really is a top class property in a stunning location. We would highly recommend it.

I’m glad that you enjoyed your stay at Chapel House. Thank you for your remarks about recycling. We recycle glass and newspapers but will look again at how we can do a separate collection for card and cans Property Owner

The views were amazing so quiet no noise or light pollution in the evenings. The only thing I would Say is it would be nice to have a key safe somewhere that as guests we can use to pop a key in and don’t need to take out with us as we did a lot Of walking and to the beach etc so we were worried about loosing it.

Is heating and hot water good….. absolutely. Cleanliness perfect. Fixtures and fittings all high quality The original chapel stained glass windows are beautiful and obviously not double glazed so you get a little traffic noise but it’s not a busy road so not too much of a problem Susie, the housekeeper met us at checkin and A very generous welcome pack was provided 100% recommended

  • "A beautiful property."

The large window above the stairs was very impressive. The log burner really heated the chapel up on an autumn evening and made the place very cosy. Shame the chapel didn’t have a coffee machine which you would expect in a luxury property. The parking for two cars was too tight. You wouldn’t fit two family cars in and be able to alight your vehicle. Getting in and out of the parking spaces onto the lane was arduous.

We enjoyed such a brilliant, relaxing week in this superb home. The chapel features are beautiful, the decor sumptuous, with remarkable attention to detail showing artistic and, at times, fun and quirky style. It couldn’t be improved. Our host, Sarah, was also so welcoming and accommodating and the house was so well equipped with everything we needed. I think we all said “wow” when we walked in! Original features remained, stained glass windows, stone arches, organ pipes to name a few, yet the kitchen, bathrooms and the overall feel were modern. Lots of space but it was cosy too. It was spotless, beautifully decorated and furnished. Sarah, showed us round and explained all the ‘tech’ and left a lovely welcome basket of goodies. Lovely situation close to footpaths and not far from the sea. A fabulous week that will definitely be repeated in Chapel House.

  • "We have stayed at Chapel House before and even with the new restrictions in place - sarah made us feel incredibly welcome and the place was incredibly clean and tidy."

The house is beautiful. The area is lovely and all in all we had a wonderful time. The only reason that i am unsure whether i would book again is not because of the house but the way that Sykes initially handled the pandemic. So i am not confident that they are the best company to book through - first refused refunds / date change, then refused refunds and only allowed certain date changes which cost people more, then refused a refund if you had changed your date. This was only after excessive pressure from Martin Lewis and the government. So Sykes you get 5/10. Sarah and Chapel house get 100/10 because the property itself is honestly amazing.
