"Stable Cottage is absolutely fantastic, it’s spotless and has everything you need, the location is in my opinion the best on the island for a rural retreat, we will certainly be back, brilliant."
-
"Very nice cottage and great location."
-
"Absolutely gorgeous cottage."
Well located - nothing on the Island is more than a 30 minute drive away. Spotlessly clean; well maintained; very comfortable. It is in the middle of nowhere making it really peaceful. Sitting out in the patio area every morning listening to the birds was lovely. Will definitely return!
-
"A truly fabulous Holiday Cottage in a perfect tranquil location."
It was very quiet and perfectly located in the centre of the Isle of Wight to ensure the whole Island was easy to visit and enjoy. The owners wwere great people too and very helpful. Stable Cottage was one of four units but all were superbly positioned that ensured privacy and a fabulous holiday setting. We could not think of anywhere better for us to stay in.

"A very well equipped, comfortable cottage, in lovely location and welcoming owners."
-
"Stable Cottage is centrally located being in Gatcombe, which makes it perfect for exploring the whole island like we did."
Situated in a rural area it is lovely and quiet and with stunning views. Inside it is well equipped with everything we could possibly need (aside from a dishwasher but that's no big deal for us). We had a lovely stay in this spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage, started off by a warm welcome from the owner and manager Steve.
-
"Wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay."
Ideal situation for exploring the island. Loved the private courtyard for having breakfast (even in our pyjamas).
-
"A delightful cottage, well-equipped and well presented."
It was very comfortable and in an ideal location — out-of-the-way and peaceful but very central for getting to all parts of the island. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
-

"Very well appointed holiday cottage set in a beautiful location."
The property was very well equipped, comfortable and clean. Its central location enabled all parts of the Isle of Wight to be easily reached. The owners were unobtrusive but readily available if required. Highly recommended.
-
"A very well appointed and presented holiday cottage in a beautiful, quiet setting in an AONB."
Cosy and comfortable with a spacious feel. Good access by car to many places of interest, but also having lovely country walks starting from the door. We spent a lovely spring week there and hope to return.
-
"We've had a fantastic holiday at Stable Cottage."
An absolutely beautiful conversion in a stunning setting. We were so happy with everything provided we've booked again for 2023. Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts.
-
"Perfect place to stay for our holiday."
Cottage was very clean when we arrived, has all the things you need while staying away from home. Hosts very friendly as always and it’s nice to know they are near by incase of any help needed. Highly recommend New Barn Cottages.

"Stable Cottage was comfortable and well equipped."
It was set in a beautiful, tranquil location and ideal for walkers.
-
"Lovely location & property with excellent hosts."
-
"We had a very nice stay at Stable Cottage, it is unbelievably quiet with great views and a private south facing patio."
We are mountain bikers and Steve the owner kindly let us put our bikes in his lockable barn when not in use. We were able to bike from the cottage to the Tennyson trial and other bike trails as the location was very central. The cottage is well equipped and clean. We were disappointed with the Wi fi which could only be reached in the lounge and the signal was erratic and poor. We felt that the property could also benefit from an update of the main bathroom and the addition of a dishwasher to make it truly 4 * however , the many positives outweigh these points. If you would like a quiet holiday in beautiful scenery this is the cottage for you.

"What a fabulous cottage!"
Exceeded all expectations. Comfortable, super clean, perfect location right in the centre of the Island and the hosts were amazing. Set on a beautiful, quiet farm with lovely views from every window. The cottage itself is very spacious, well decorated and packed with everything you’d need to make it a real home from home. Lots of little nice touches like tea bags, tea towels, a stack of DVDs, board games and more. Lovely patio area for al fresco dining. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage and can’t wait to return.

-
"Wonderful cottage that had everything (well, almost!"
) Our host Mr Harvey was very helpful. We had super walks and good weather. Will be booking a cottage with you for Exmoor this time next year!
-
"Very quiet and peaceful location, with lovely all round views, worth the drive down country lanes to get there."
It`s location on the Island meant we could visit all parts without any long drives.
-
"Great cottage, shame about the torrent of emails from Sykes."
-
"Lovely little cottage on very quiet farm, a little bit of a walk from things like pub and shop but couldn’t of asked for a nicer stay in a very picturesque location."
Great for walks etc and only short drive away from anywhere else. It was clean, they were very welcoming and had great set up and lots of info as to what was open even though Covid restrictions only just opening up. There is a well provided kitchen so no need to bring kitchen sink like I always do. Would happily book again here especially if going for quiet break.
-
"Lovely cottage, very clean and tidy with everything needed to facilitate our stay!"
Lovely scenic location and we will be back
-
"This was a fantastic location and superb accommodation."
Our host was very friendly and knowledgeable advising best places to go. We would definitely recommend and are going again early next year
-
"Stable barn was absolutely lovely."
Location very remote and peaceful everything is easily accessible on the island. Owner very welcoming . Extremely well equipped property. All covid cleaning procedures had been adhered to. We had an absolutely fantastic stay

"Perfect in every way."
Steve was most welcoming and helpful - we were greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of Prosecco to complement our New Year celebrations. Fresh milk in the fridge was most thoughtful. The Christmas tree was beautiful and made Stable Cottage seem like a real home-from-home. Beds were comfortable and warm - we didn't need the extra blankets provided, even in December/January. Kitchen was well-equipped, although we mainly ate out so didn't need to make full use of all the utensils. My husband enjoyed completing one of the selection of jigsaw puzzles!
-
"Comfortable and cosy."
Everything we needed for our week on the Isle of Wight. The only downside was a badly flickering light which meant we were unable to use the lights in the kitchen. Steve was helpful and friendly, told us he’d been waiting for the electrician for a month!
-
"Fantastic family week in this lovely property, such a wonderful clean and homely place to relax in after a day exploring the island."
my only recommendation would be better mattress and bedding. as they are very hard, and the bedding a little thin. The owner is on hand to help with any problems, our Tv stopped working on the first evening, by morning we had a replacement (even bigger) so resolved very fast. we would recommend this place to anyone.
-
"We most enjoyed be able to sit outside on the adjoining patio in the peace and quiet of the site."
I particularly enjoyed see the nesting swallows going in and out of the adjacent farm buildings, and also large numbers of swifts flying in the area. It was a shame the DVD player was not already connected up for the wet nights.

"Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting."
Steve was also very helpful

"The Stables is highly recommended for anyone seeking a comfortable holiday base in a peaceful location."
It ticked all the boxes for us and proved to be an ideal location to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight. The farm in which it is located is exceptionally clean and tidy. Even the country lanes leading up to the farm have been recently resurfaced (no potholes!). Our only criticism is of the directions to the property given by Sykes. There are far simpler directions to the property from Yarmouth, Cowes or Ryde than those provided.

"Stable Cottage was lovely, it was like home from home."
Beautifully decorated, clean, everything you needed was there. Owner, who lived on site was helpful and friendly. Location was fantastic, not too far from anywhere but in a peaceful valley.

"We had a fantastic time the bungalow was nice clean comfortable The only two ..."
We had a fantastic time the bungalow was nice clean comfortable The only two things you could do to improve the bungalow is to have a slotted spoon in the kitchen Also my daughter to care taker about putting a mirror down the lane so u see on coming traffic He thought it was a very good idea I would love to come back as it was very peaceful and pretty views and it was very central for getting around the island We didn’t want our holiday to end I will be telling my friends about the bungalow
-

Steve waited for us even though we were a little late, hospitable and friendly but non intrusive. Highly recommended....All that was needed provided.
-
"Lovely cottage, very clean and well equipped."
Great central location peaceful but within easy reach of all the island. Would definitely recommend and would go back again
-

What more could you want.
