"Linda Cottage is such a cute little cottage!"
It’s in a great location for travelling around the island, has a well stocked corner shop at the end of the road and a friendly pub around the corner. The cottage itself is cosy, pretty, really well stocked, and just lovely to stay in. Suzanne was also great with her comms ahead of our stay and gave clear instructions too. Just lovely ☺️

"A delightful little cottage in the heart of St Helen’s; it was warm, cosy, tastefully decorated and was equipped with everything we needed."
Parking was a short distance away and free. We will definitely be back!

"We immensely enjoyed staying at Linda Cottage."
Suzanne was so helpful with updates and little texts before arrival and during our stay. The cottage is charming and very comfortable, with bucket-loads of character. All the little touches at the cottage, from the beach-themed mugs in the kitchen to the cushions and the decorations, added to its welcoming feel. Coming from a flat in London, I've been missing cooking on a gas stove and, as weird as that might sound, particularly enjoyed having one during our stay! The location was all we wanted it to be: quiet, close to a beach, easy to drive to/from and park at, close to a supermarket for grocery top ups. We definitely recommend Linda Cottage for your stay at the Isle of Wight.

"We had such a lovely stay at Linda Cottage."
The cottage is very charming and the decorations and furnishings are exquisite. It was a cosy and comfortable fit for 2 adults and our 3 children - all of whom were absolutely delighted with their welcome chocolate! St Helens is a lovely quiet village, which is a great place to stay. It has it's own beach a few minutes drive down the road, and it's very convenient for Sandown/Shanklin if you are interested in the tourist hotspots. Our host Suzanne was very attentive and we hope we get a chance to stay again. Thanks

"We had a wonderful stay at Linda Cottage."
It’s got such lovely character and is beautifully decorated. We arrived by bus and walked everywhere we needed to go as the house is well placed for this. Would highly recommend.

"I had a wonderful week at Linda Cottage."
The property was clean, warm, comfortable, well appointed, and within ten minutes’ walk of the beach. Suzanne was attentive and helpful. There is lots to do around St Helens, despite its remoteness. I found three lovely trails: west to Brading village through Brading Marsh, north along Priory Bay and Seagrove Bay, and south east to Bembridge where there’s a fantastic pub (The Olde Village Inn). I couldn’t have asked for a better break from busy London!

"I had a wonderful break at Linda Cottage."
It is a very comfortable property with everything you could need in it. I had some contact with the owner via text and she was ever so helpful without being intrusive. The village of St Helen’s is quiet but that was exactly what I wanted. Even so, it had a well stocked shop with post office, a nice pub, a nice couple of restaurants and an amazing second hand/rare bookshop. And it is within walking distance of the sea which I loved! I cannot recommend it highly enough especially to people travelling on their own, in a couple or a small group/family. I remember reading others say that the staircase is quite narrow and that I would agree with - I would imagine some people would struggle with it, especially getting luggage up to the bedrooms. I also think that a family of 4 might find the lounge a bit small. And anyone sleeping in the main bedroom might get disturbed by the shop being stocked up first thing in the morning. But these are very minor points, none of which took anything away from a lovely holiday.

"A wonderful little cottage in a super location."
Managed to do so much in the few days we were there. Unfortunately couldn’t get into the two nearby restaurants so make sure you book ahead.

"Linda Cottage provides everything to support a lovely holiday in this quiet village on the island."
From the moment we walked down the path surrounded by the spring blooming Clematis and into the cozy warm cottage our stay was made perfect. I am a regular customer of Sykes Cottages renting their holiday let’s 3 or 4 times a year and can definitely recommend the cottage. It has everything you would expect with the added benefit of a double lower bunk bed that can prove really useful for families of 5. In addition there is a very well stocked reasonably priced convenience store open until 9pm in the evening that is located less than 1 minute walk and a friendly cozy pub just 10 minutes walk away… what more could you ask for. The Village Inn at Bembridge is a must, make sure of an early visit during your holiday as you will definitely want to return there! The friendly owners of Linda Cottage made us welcome from the very start and we’re kind enough to post a flask I had foolishly left behind… nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely consider booking this cottage in the lovely village of St Helens when we next visit the IoW….

About the location
ST HELENS
Bembridge 2 miles; Ryde 5 miles.
The village of St Helens lies in a coastal position on high ground, on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at the centre of village life, providing cricket and football pitches, a children’s playground and superb views right across Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. The village also offers superb restaurants, pub, newsagent, Post Office and grocery store. A short walk takes you to The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand, and once the site of a Royal links golf course. The beach here is very family friendly, with sand and shingle, perfect for making sandcastles and collecting seashells as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There is the popular Baywatch Café, with all the amenities you need for the perfect day at the beach, and stunning views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. The fort was built to protect Portsmouth from a French invasion between 1867 and 1880, and at the lowest tide of the summer, there is a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach out to the fort and back again, with driftwood fires and barbecues.
Please note: One dog allowed for a £20 surcharge, dogs to be kept downstairs only.
