  • "We had an extremely pleasant stay in this very well equipped and located property."

The local pub "The Birdham" was very welcoming with excellent food. The property is very "Dog Friendly". The hamper of locally produced food was most appreciated. Just two suggestions for improvements: 1) Provide a non-slip mat in the walk in shower and 2) Instructions on how to use the TV though the Amazon Firestick would be helpful for anyone who has not used this before. Many thanks - keep up the good work!

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the property so thank you."

It is a lovely property. There are only two points to mention: The bag of “goodies” was very nice especially using local products. We might have been a bit useless with modern technology, but the coffee machine got the better of us and when we lost a capsule in the machine, we noticed that someone else previously had a problem to use it. Our biggest disappointment was that on the Sykes property description it mentioned that there was a tv but we only found out when we read the welcome brochure that there was no terrestrial tv available. We only use terrestrial tv at home so as over 70 year olds, we had no tv for the evening for the week. Perhaps this should have been explained on the Sykes website.

  • "We were very comfortable at The Anchorage."

The property was well equipped and we had everything we needed. It took us a few moments to work out the tv, brief instructions would have been helpful. Garden very dog friendly. All in all a very good property, well placed within Bembridge.

Many thanks for your feedback which is really useful for us. We're glad you had a comfortable stay at The Anchorage and your dog enjoyed the garden! Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay, The food crate with local tea, coffee, milk and butter was a nice, unexpected surprise, it all went during our stay!"

The information pack was informative, it was nice to read about the house origins. This was our fourth time holidaying in Bembridge so we know the area well. Cheers Simon, Heather and “Alfie”

  • "What a wonderful location being walkable to the beach, shops, pub and lifeboat station."

We even walked to the windmill! The house was clean and fresh with everything we needed for our stay. Neighbours and locals all very friendly. We have been visiting the Island regularly since childhood and now continue to do so with our own children. This will now have to be added as one of our favourite places to stay. A bonus for the children that there was a huge playing field and playground just opposite. A great location which allowed us to enjoy the beach at Bembridge and all the Island has to offer. Thank you.

Thanks very much for your feedback Hannah. We're very pleased everything was in order for your stay and that you and your family so enjoyed your time in Bembridge. Being so close to ‘the Rec’ at Steyne Park was always a bonus whilst growing up and the play park has improved greatly even since then. We hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

About the location

BEMBRIDGE

Ryde 7 miles; Newport 11 miles; Cowes 16 miles; Yarmouth 20 miles.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.
