  • "The holiday property was really good."

A large apartment, very comfy, well furnished and all the equipment you require. However, there were no decent windows to look out of, and those at normal level had frosted glass. There was no outside space to sit and watch the world go by. Parking is a complete disaster with a first come first served basis. Luckily we found a space when we arrived and the car stayed there all week. To make up for this Anglesey has an excellent bus service. The promenade is about half a mile away with very steep slopes to get there. Sorry to the owners for the negative bits I have written as the apartment really is lovely.

  • "This property is absolutely stunning and very modern."

It has everything you need. It has lots of things which aren't listed like an air fryer, blender, slow cooker, games, books, pencils and paper for the kids lots of blankets. The little food parcel was a lovely touch. It is very close to a tesco express and a Chinese takeaway. It's a nice short walk to the beach. We were very lucky that we got parked across the road every day, so we didn't need to pay for parking. But the car park isn't far. I would definitely recommend it, but not if you can't manage a lot of stairs. We'd love to go back.

Hi Sarah thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We would very much welcome you and your family back any time! Warmest wishes, No5 Old Church ⛪️ Property Owner

  • "No 5 Old Church is a beautiful apartment, decorated to a very high standard and very well equipped and maintained."

We had a very relaxing enjoyable stay in this property. The rooms are spacious for 4 guests, and having an en suite and separate bathroom is great for 4 adults staying in this property. There is one shower cubicle and the main bathroom has a roll top bath with shower attachment on the bath. We found the king size and super king beds very comfortable and slept well. It was handy having a dishwasher and washing machine and there were enough tablets for both machines for two washes. Thank you for the welcome pack of milk, water, and other treats this was much appreciated. The apartment also has an iron, board and hairdryer. If you like bath sheet size towels take your own but two towels per adult are provided. The apartment is located a five minute walk up the hill from the main high street and opposite the Royal Legion club - handy tip to locate it when you drive down into the town on arrival - as said in the description there is limited parking directly across the road which is free and we managed to park there 3 days out of seven otherwise there is a car park at the bottom of the hill in the town a short walk away where we parked overnight the rest of the time - if you struggle mobility wise this could be an issue ..as might the steps into the property and up the stairs to the first floor. It wasn’t a problem for us and the town is literally down the hill. There’s a handy Co-op and Tesco Express five mins walk down the hill. Highly recommend staying here in this property thank you for a wonderful stay …

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such wonderfully detailed feedback. We very much hope to welcome you back again. Warmest wishes No5 Old Church Property Owner

It also has all the facilities you need, my only moan is we couldn't park near at all and a cupboard to be left free for food would be great. Mel and Jon were so helpful, we loved our stay. Thank you

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback - wonderful to read. We hope to welcome you back to No5 Old Church again in the future. Warmest wishes. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful property in ideal location."

Negatives:no air con or available fans ..weather was hot during our stay and safety windows only able to open couple inches ./decking area disappointing as small and squashed between fence/ building and where bin storage area for 7 other properties situated plus dead plant in pot on decking ..not fit to use so no outdoor space to relax in ./emersion boiler for hot water …easily ran out hot water and only 3 of us using ..wouldn’t coped with 4 people’s demands ./showers very low pressure .

Hi there thank you for your feedback - rather disappointing to read. Can I ask, did you contact the property manager about any of the above? We have a large fan we could have provided and the windows, despite having child safety locks, can be opened fully by lifting the small latch. Unfortunately the water system, as advised in the manual is a large hot water tank and once used, needs time to refill and heat up. Despite this we do hope you enjoyed a lovely break & would look forward to welcoming you back. Kind regards No5 Property Owner

  • "This apartment was wonderful to stay in, spacious, clean and comfortable."

It felt nice and secure and very quiet when we were in the apartment. The only downside is finding parking on the street.

Thank you for your lovely and helpful feedback. Yes unfortunately parking on the island can be tricky & we would recommend a parking permit - particularly in times of peak season - details of which can be found in the description. We very much hope to welcome you back in the future. Warmest wishes No5 Old Church Property Owner

  • "I can't remember if you listed the number of steps required to reach the apartment but as a 79year old I did struggle at times."

Oherwise we have no complaints apart from an extra toilet roll would have been handy in both the bathrooms.. All the decor was beautifully done, very stylish and very comfortable.

So pleased you found the apartment comfortable & thank you for your comments on the decor. We were sorry to hear you found the steps a struggle at times. The apartment is on the first floor, as listed & we also included a photograph of the internal stairs, but we very much appreciate your feedback and agree that perhaps it would be helpful to note the number of steps - which we shall count when next at the apartment. We do hope the steps won’t deter you from us welcoming you back again. Warmest wishes, No5 Old Church Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at No 5 Old Church."

It has lovely fittings and furnishings and everything you need for a self-catering stay. Thank you for the goodies you left us, after a long journey it's good to know you don't have to get milk, tea and coffee, bread, shortbread etc for a while. The apartment is ideally situated not far from the shops, beach and activities and we managed to navigate the diversions (due to landslides and roadworks) to travel all over the IOW. Once we worked out the panel heaters we managed to heat up the rooms and when we first arrived we were able to park across the road. It was expensive parking in the car park nearby for the rest of the time and I wouldn't like to do it in high season. It was lovely staying in Ventnor again. Thank you for letting us stay at No 5.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and to hear about your stay. Pleased to hear you were able to navigate your way around the island, despite the minefield of road closures atm! Yes unfortunately parking can prove a problem on the island & we do recommend the purchase of Isle of Wight tourist parking permits on the property description which can be purchased on the council website - helpful if travelling around the island too :) We do very much hope to welcome you back to the church again. • "Absolutely beautiful apartment."

..whoever chose the decor has amazing taste and style. It was everything in the description and more...felt really spacious. I felt like I was in an episode of 'Escape to the Country' where they have the mystery house! We were lucky enough to get a parking space across the road a few times, but if not there is a little car park literally two minutes walk away down the hill. We bought a visitors parking permit for the week, as advised and it worked brilliantly. There is also a little Tesco and Co-op within easy walking distance and it's lovely to be so close to the town centre, but equally in a very quiet area where you don't get disturbed at night. Would highly recommend. All my friends were very impressed with the pics I showed them. Thanks so much for an amazing holiday!

Ahh - thank you so much for your wonderful feedback - what an absolute delight to read! We are so pleased you enjoyed both your holiday and the apartment as much as we do :) We very much hope to welcome you back again. Warmest wishes, No5 Old Church Property Owner

very small towels, poor qiuality toilet tissue and inadedquate pans. There is not 1 big enough to make pasta for 2 people let alone 4 guests. Disappointinlgy, 3 of the 4 pans had been put away with visible food debris on them.

  • "Nicely converted old church with straightforward access up to the flat."

Decorated to a high standard, so found the lounge comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We found the beautiful bath impractical and slippy with taps a hazard. Lovely big bathroom so why not install a shower? The shower in the en-suite was bizarrely small in the big space. Nowhere to put shower soap or shampoo. Such a shame because everything else was spot on.

Many thanks for your feedback...we were very pleased to hear you found most things 'spot on!'. Thank you for your comments on the bath - we have now made sure a rubber bath mat is on hand should future guests need it. We were sorry to hear you found the taps a hazard? In the shower unit there is a wire rack by the taps to pop shampoo & soap in & I found the suckers had come unstuck & the holder was on the floor of the unit after you'd checked out, so apologies there. We very much hope you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. Warmest wishes, No5 Old Church Property Owner

  • "It was a wonderful place to stay."

The only tiny quibble is to be a little more honest about parking on the listing, it was hard to park every day and particularly hard to unpack and pack the car on arrival and departure.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments you left in my guestbook & your feedback here on the Sykes website. I’m sorry to hear you had trouble with the parking. Unfortunately we do not have private parking…there are free bays directly opposite the church & on the surrounding roads for parking, however it is on a first come first served basis. There is also a car park (opposite Tescos) 0.1miles down from the church. Unfortunately parking on the island can be tricky sometimes, particularly during high season which is why we include the suggestion of a tourist parking permit on the booking form, enabling easier parking all over the island. We do hope this doesn’t deter you from us welcoming you back! Warmest wishes, No5 Old Church. Property Owner

It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The flat was lovely and beautifully decorated with lots of character. The host was really helpful and easily available to answer any questions we had (even with where to get the best fish and chips in town!) The location was perfect for what we needed - a short walk to the beach which the children enjoyed. Ventnor is lovely with great places to eat, but was also easy to access other parts of the Isle of Wight. Thank you having us - we would love to come back and hopefully will book again year!
