  • "Lovely little property in a great location."

The view was wonderful and the flat was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The only slight disappointments were the hot water system, which didn't appear to be on a timer and therefore had to be boosted for 30 minutes every time before we were able to shower or wash up; the poor directions for entering the apartment (access via the rear steps); and the bags of litter/bedding and radiators etc that litter the stairs and the landing on the way up to the apartment. This was disappointing to see upon arrival and not in keeping with a holiday apartment; it felt a little like student digs!

Thank you for your feedback Graeme. Firstly, I'm happy to hear that your overall impression of the property seemed fairly good. Regarding the hot water system, I'm so sorry to learn that the controls didn't suit you. I will just point out that there are actually THREE available booster settings - half an hour, one hour, and two hours, which usually provides enough hot water for an entire day. The user instructions (pinned on the immersion heater door) are obviously not clear enough about this point, so I will take another look at it when I'm next down on the island. Finally, thank you for alerting me to all the rubbish bags in the stairway. I agree that this is TOTALLY out of order. I can only assume that the new residents in our building are not aware of the resident's rules about leaving rubbish in the stairway. I will email them immediately and hope that they take it all away and never do it again. I am sincerely sorry about this and I apologise unreservedly. Property Owner

  • "Entrance to th property very dirty and unkempt."

    Property hard to find.

Thank you for your feedback. Although your first impression of our property wasn't exactly ideal, I do hope that you still managed to have a pleasant and enjoyable holiday. You mentioned two main issues. Firstly, the difficulty in finding the property. I totally acknowledge that the building is slightly tucked away and can be quite difficult for visitors to find. I will, therefore, ask Sykes to add some additional instructions onto their website to make it easier for future visitors. The other issue (the general state of the entrance) is something that we take very seriously. Unfortunately, our new neighbour (on the top floor) is in the process of moving her things in. I understand that she has been having some difficulty with this and has, on occasions, had to leave some of her belongings on the landings. I apologize for this unreservedly. I have called her today, and she assures me that she will sort this problem out very soon. Property Owner

  • "There were lots of useful information notices in the flat."

The double bed was crammed into the bedroom so it was difficult to sidle past and get in it from both sides for those people who have any restricted mobility. All of the trip hazards in the threshold of every door were clearly marked which was helpful. I could see one trip hazard that could be easily rectified - the uneven floor at the bottom of the bathroom steps could be made even very simply. I accept the other trip hazards were just part of the quirky nature of the flat conversion.

You are probably aware that the Sykes website mentions (on two separate occasions) that the property "may not be suitable for people who have mobility issues", but we thank you for highlighting this issue again for potential guests. Thank you also for mentioning the information notices displayed around the flat. We always try our best to inform our guests. Despite all the changes of level, we hope you enjoyed your stay. Thanks once again for your comment. Property Owner

  • "We had a great week."

The property was small, but clean and covered all our needs.

Thank you so much for your kind words, which were very much appreciated. It's always lovely to hear from guests who have enjoyed the property as much as we have. We rarely get feedback, so thank you for taking the trouble to do that. We would love to have you back next year. Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "We felt the Studio was compact, but had everything we needed - the kitchen was particularly well equipped, everything was arranged to best advantage of the available space and it was nice and clean throughout."

I think it should be clear that there are 37 steps up to The Studio - one last obstacle to climb after navigating the hills of the island! Personally, I would have liked a SMART TV to make viewing Netflix etc easier, but we managed fine with a laptop. Finally, to improve - the chest of drawers in the bedroom is really shoddy and should be replaced at the first opportunity!

We are very grateful for your helpful and constructive comments about the Studio. We actually agree with all of your observations and we intend to make the necessary changes when we are back down on the island in November. These improvements should hopefully all be in place for the start of the new 2022 holiday season. Thank you again. Property Owner

.which we found Amazing , the whole experience was top notch , to the extent that i reccomended it to All my family and Friends to look it up . upon this recent experience ...Alas i must strongly point out that this stay at the studio Ventnor was an embarrasment for your company ...It was Dirty ...and i will include photos if required... the cleaning services that you employ did not fullfill there duties ...to the extent that that WE...had to give it a clean over before we dare use it ...

:I was very surprised to learn that Mr Moulden recently left us this feedback, particularly as the issue he raised was cleanliness. It is very difficult for me to respond to his comments as I genuinely feel that we are very fortunate to have such an amazing team of cleaners, who have worked very hard for us, and who have consistently achieved good feedback from customers. All I know is that the cleaning team have assured me that they cleaned the apartment to the same standard as usual and this was checked by a supervisor not long before Mr Moulden arrived. Given that we generally receive positive feedback (particularly for cleanliness), it's very difficult to understand why different customers perceive the same property in such different ways.We have never attempted to have the best holiday property on the island, but we do try very hard to provide good value for money, and I believe we have achieved that. The Studio has consistently received good feedback from customers, yet despite its prime location, it is among the least expensive 2-bed holiday properties on the island.Anyway, I have passed Mr Moulden's comments onto our cleaning team and I have asked them to raise their game (even further) for future guests. I believe our response is very fair and balanced and I would be very grateful if you could publish it in its complete entirety. Property Owner

  • "A clean, comfortable and well equipped apartment."

Although centrally located The Studio was extremely quiet with a beautiful seaview. Owing to high demand and staff shortages this season we would advise others to check restaurant opening times and book in advance.

Thank you for your kind comments. Thank you also for your sensible advice to future customers. Hopefully the staff shortages in local restaurants will have been resolved by next season. Property Owner

  • "Ventnor is a lovely little seaside town, and this apartment takes full advantage of its wonderful sea views."

It is well located for shops, restaurants, pubs and beaches, and despite its central location, it is incredibly quiet. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and although the individual spaces are quite small, the open plan layout and the high ceilings give the interior a nice airy feel. The chandelier lights provide a lovely finishing touch. The apartment as a whole has everything you would need for a well deserved holiday. We had a great time and will definitely return.

Thank you for your very kind comments. We would love to have you back again. Property Owner

Everywhere we ate in Ventnor was good and all were friendly. Recommend leaving the car where it is one day and have a good look around Ventnor as very historical..and Hilly!! Steephill Cove worth the walk, and then bus out to the east..drop down through the Devils Chimney and along the landslip to find yourself on the seafront for a lovely level walk back and a sundowner in the Winter Gardens. Very comfortable apartment.
