  • "Just back from a super stay at this high quality property where it was so easy to immediately relax and settle in."

All of us fell in love with our new home-from-home and did not want to leave. I had occasion to visit The Hayloft during my time as a Visit England assessor 6 years ago when the owners attained the prestigious Rose Award, and I vowed to return as a guest. After I left VE, The Hayloft always remained in my memory and it was a pleasure to finally return with friends, secure in the knowledge that we would be experiencing beautifully-appointed accommodation with exceptional standards of cleanliness. The kind hosts are ready to help and advise, without being intrusive, happy to give recommendations for dining venues and local information. Our highlights were the excellent facilities and amenities - they have thought of everything visitors could possibly need - and the magic of the wood burner which we tended while enjoying chat, drinks and laughter in the lounge. We loved The Hayloft and can't wait until our next visit.

The cottage was warm, clean and spacious and very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our week and had amazing weather too, will definitely recommend to our friends and family. • "The property is in a quiet location but very easy access to popular locations to visit."

The owners are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. If a member of the party has a mobility problem there is easy access to the house and a level ground floor including bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower, which has a rail and a chair available. The patio is also on the same level. There is plenty of seating and crockery etc. it is a well equipped cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the it here. Maureen

Thank you for your kind comments. You may be interested to know that when we where converting the barn in 2009 from the former stables & hayloft we borrowed a wheel chair to test how the ground floor En Suite worked, as it has a 'wet room' floor. The proposed hinged door into the area did not work easily so we changed to a sliding door and hence success - easy access for everyone. Also the basin lever taps make for easy use. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay, and thank you Richard and Lindsay for being such fantastic hosts!"

The property is absolutely beautiful, in a fantastic location and the cleanest and best equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in. We were 5 adults and there was ample space for everyone to have their own space, and the outside seating and garden were absolutely perfect for us to enjoy a drink in the sunshine, and a game of cards after a busy day sightseeing. The recommendations from Richard and Lindsay, of places to visit and restaurants to eat in was very much appreciated and contributed to an extremely enjoyable holiday. We would love to return and would recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in a beautiful, clean, well furnished and equipped accommodation, accessible to so many areas of Kent. Thank you once more Richard and Lindsay, it was a pleasure to meet you!

Thank you for such a lovely review - its a great pleasure for us when our guests enjoy The Hayloft and everything this part of Kent has to offer. • "Lovely thatched picturesque and spacious holiday cottage - we all enjoyed staying here!"

Interesting property in that you can go out onto the balcony from the main bedroom and walk out round the side to the front of the house! We really had everything we needed and more in the kitchen; the beds were very comfortable and the outdoor space with decking and flowers was pleasant to sit out in. We would certainly come back here!

  • "The cottage was more than good, it was brilliant."

We booked for 3 days and wished it had been a week. Our hosts Lyndsay and Richard were friendly and a great help with local information. One small downside was that the two twin beds in one of the double bedrooms, which were required as a double were not fixed together, so proved a bit awkward.

Thank you for your kind comments. The twin beds are often asked to be split, with children etc. To fix the twins together on a fixed basis would not be easy and involve us in regular separation. The other bedroom is a super kingsize double. Glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully will see you again Kind regards, Richard & Lindsay Property Owner

  • "Me and my partner had lovely stay at the Hayloft."

Richard and Lindsey were really welcoming and greeted us on the first day to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were looking for a really relaxing get away so stayed in every night by the fire. The only issue we had was that the sofa was a little uncomfortable because we could feel the springs. The kitchen was perfect and I really enjoyed cooking in it every day. The master bedroom had twin beds pushed together which made it a little awkward to sleep in as a couple, however as there was only 2 of us, we slept in one of the upstairs bedroom which had a double bed, which was super comfortable. I would love to book again, however as me and partner enjoy cosy nights in by the fire, so the sofa would be an issue for us unfortunately. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you for your comments and sorry to hear about the sofa. A local Upholster visited yesterday and was able to fit additional foam to the seat cushions - which has given them a new lease of life. Property Owner
