  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barrons Mews."

It’s compact but perfectly contained. The patio area at the front was useful for relaxing after a day out. Real grass would have been a bonus for Agnes ( retriever) but the park and beach is a stones throw away so it wasn’t a problem The double bed is extremely comfy. Off road parking was a real bonus

we are glad you had a good stay, thank you for the great feedback Property Owner

  • "Lovely well equipped holiday home."

It was really comfortable and furnished with care and attention to the smallest detail. It was a lovely surprise to find staples like tea bags provided and some luxuries too - a home from home just a few steps from the beach and a very short walk to shops and restaurants. A lot to do both locally and in the area - we needed at least another week! We had fabulous weather so could eat breakfast outside and take advantage of the many fabulous walks along the coast. A perfect place for a holiday as relaxed or as busy you want it to be. Highly recommended :-)

Thanks for the feedback, it was lovely to meet you both and we are really pleased you enjoyed you6 holiday Property Owner

  • "The only way to improve on the location would be to have a sea view from inside the accommodation, however having said that all you need to do is step outside the gate and pivot to the right to get one, with the promenade being just a very short stroll away."

The accommodation was clean and well presented with a welcoming pack of essentials (including a bottle of wine), thanks Alan and Michelle. The pictures in the Sykes brochure do it justice and the comment re potential noise from the adjacent main road is valid particularly during the day and early evening but it did not intrude on a good nights sleep. Did not try the cooking equipment beyond the kettle as we ate out each night. For those with a four legged friend like us, The Ship Inn, Hampton Inn and The King Ethelbert Inn are to be recommended, our favourite was the latter even though it meant driving. Would we come back - YES.

Thank you for the feedback guys, we really appreciate it, and of course would love to see you come back, thanks again Property Owner

  • "This is a very comfortable cottage in a very good location."

The cottage is very well equipped with a really nice outside area which is fully enclosed. Literally 2 mins around the corner is the beach which is dog friendly. The town centre is 5 mins walk and the pier and amusements a 10 min walk. The owners, Alan and Michelle, are very friendly and helpful. The complimentary food basics were much appreciated as was the doggy stuff provided. Really enjoyed our stay here and hope to book again.

Thank you both for the great feedback, and we really appreciate you leaving the mews so clean, hope to see you again, thank you Property Owner

Shower a bit crampt , all in all we had a fantastic stay in Herne Bay.

We're glad you had a good time with us , a little baffled by shower comment as it's an open wet room with a curtain, but we will endeavour to look into this Property Owner

  • "This is the best cottage we have stayed in so far."

Michelle and Alan made exceptional efforts to see that we had everything we needed and the essential extras in the fridge were really appreciated. We would highly recommend this cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and in an ideal location being in walking distance to the town and by the sea. Gaenor and Philip

  • "The owners, Alan and Michelle were great, helpful and friendly."

Everything you could imagine was provided for in the Mews - more than in any other cottage stayed at. Position perfect with a dog in lovely Herne Bay with the beach and grass for "walkies" nearby as well as being close to the town centre and the main road into town. My only suggestions for the future if going to be dog-friendly - when next changing flooring, dont have a carpet and perhaps have a little grass (artificial or otherwise) at the front instead of pebbles. Some dogs (mine) wont wee on anything else !! Brilliant holiday.

  • "The cottage is all on the ground floor and is thoughtfully and well equipped."

Lovely outside space at front to sit and at back for barbeque (which we didn't use but looked nice). The rooms are comfortable. There is no washing machine so longer stays might be a problem, we were fine. The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the beach (which is dog friendly), the town, King's Hall and Beacon Hill where there is a super area to walk a dog. The owners had left welcome pack, which was great and they were very helpful. Would definitely want to stay again.

Thank you for the great feedback, you were great guests and are always welcome to come back Property Owner

  • "Absolutely delightful accommodation, well furnished and immaculately clean both inside and the garden areas, beds were very comfortable."

. Private parking right outside the dwelling, a big advantage for me. Food preparation area is limited but as we didn't cook meals it was not a problem. Location here is prime. 100 yards (at most) from the the main beach and in the other direction was bus stops for both Canterbury and Margate, bus passes at the ready. We certainly want to stay here again.

The owners provided all the basic things you need to get you off to a great start, bread, milk, marge, jam and marmalade, tea and coffee and cereal, and after the horrendous trip down there was also a very welcoming bottle of wine. The accommodation was spotless, the bed was really comfortable there were also twin beds in the second bedroom. Separate toilet with basin as well as a good shower room also with toilet and basin. Comfortable furniture in lounge/dining room made it easy to relax of an evening. Very dog friendly with an enclosed escape proof wrap round patio, with a covered BBQ area to the rear. Many thanks to the friendly and helpful owners . If you are going to Herne Bay you must give Barons Mews a try.

Herne Bay has been a popular holiday destination for many years. With its award-winning shingle beach and restored Victorian memorial gardens, this offers families the perfect, relaxing holiday location. Herne Bay's seafront is home to the world's first freestanding purpose-built Clock Tower, built in 1837 which looks down onto the well-kept promenade. As expected when visiting an English seaside town, there are many eateries serving everything from traditional fish and chips to exotic delicacies, and of course, no seaside town is complete without an ice cream parlour and Herne Bay has two! The historic city of Canterbury is only 7 miles away, with its famous cathedral and historic past, offering theatres, museums and art galleries as well as shops, restaurants, and trips along the river. For a day of cobbled streets and browsing around quaint little shops, then make for Whitstable, famous for its Oyster festival and a popular harbour town at any time of year.
