"Our only disappointment was the courtyard which needed attention - weeds, furniture which we had to clean before we could use it, no cushions and broken and rusty “ornaments”."
Other than this the house was lovely with everything we could possibly need and in a good location. A very comfortable and enjoyable holiday was had by the four of us.

Really enjoyed the local area. Very friendly and helpful. Only one downside was a leak in shower upstairs on day 2. We were a group of 6 which had to resort to using 2 bathrooms. Not the best but little choice. I am hoping it will be resolved as we would love to go back.

"The property is very modern and clean."
The kitchen was fitted out very well and equipped with plenty of utensils, dishes, cutlery and pans etc. There is a microwave oven despite previous feedback stating otherwise and is very simple to use. There was also washing up liquid & dishwasher tablets provided including tea towels, sponges, hand-wash, bin liners and cleaning products. There were plenty of clean towels and the beds & pillows were very comfortable. The Sky + TV is a great touch especially when the weather isnt great for a lazy day in. The instructions are very clear and useful including instruction manuals, local attraction and eatery leaflets.The Lazy Shack cafe and shop which is a stone throw away(1 min walk) is excellent and the property generally is located very well near the high street with plenty of nearby places to eat and shop. The parking was very good with the use of the under croft car port and an additional space in front of the property. Overall one of the best places we have stayed in as a young family. We would highly recommend this property.

The information is very well organised. The pillows are not great and the pans low quality which takes the edge off comfort and usability. The addition of a microwave oven would be advantageous.

It is well stocked with crockery etc. A minor issue with getting access as it wasn't clear where the correct key-safe was located, but this was soon rectified with a phone call. Could not find the WiFi code as it was not obvious (stuck on the Sky box) but found it on the router. Word of warning, if you don't like the sound of guns firing, then this property may not be for you as it is located close to military firing ranges. It did not bother us so may not bother you. An added bonus if you have an electric or hybrid vehicle, is that there is a small car park (free for 4hrs) just yards away which has two charging points. The only downside is that despite notices, non-EV cars get parked in the bays thereby denying EV owners the opportunity to charge. The bays are usually empty after 5.00 though.

"This is a lovely modern and comfortable home in a great position close to the beach."
It has a nice mostly shady and cool balcony (we were there during a heatwave) It’s about a 10 -15 minute level walk to the pleasant town centre with its cafes shops pubs etc and there are some nice shady walks and park areas. There is a beach cafe yards away plus a fish and chip shop and the Hope Inn & Noodle bar 7 minutes away (great satay!). We had a minor issue at the house on Saturday evening and Irene and Richard got it sorted within an hour. Would definitely recommend this property.

"An absolutely amazing luxury property in a wonderful location right by the beach."
The property was well maintained and had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and had a lovely view of the sea. There were three bathrooms so no rush in the mornings. The living space was nicely laid out with comfortable sofas and a huge TV with plenty to watch. The games in the cabinet were a real hit with our six year old. In fact there was nothing you hadn’t thought about when putting this space together. There were even buckets and spades for the beach and binoculars. There was a desk space on the fourth floor which was perfect for evening working when the children and had gone to bed My only tiny complaint was the Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but this meant we did not work as much as we should have or stay on our devices forever. Not a bad thing I would say. We will definitely be back !

"On arrival the property was cold although we managed to get the heating partially working we had to wait for the heating engineer to call the next morning."
The company that cleans the property and a neighbour called that evening and tried to help but were unable to get the heating working properly. We didn't get a call from the owners to make sure things were okay after the engineer called, and it's the first property we've stayed in that didn't have a welcome pack. There was no property guide but instead had stickers advising what to do, and the appliance guides.
Sorry for the inconvenience that evening. As soon as you contacted I contacted the engineer. He arranged to come round first thing the next day on a weekend. In the meantime I asked the cleaner and the neighbour to pop round and see if they could help that evening. The engineer contacted me the next day to say all was sorted. We stopped welcome packs during Covid. There is a full property guide. I will ask the cleaners to leave it on display. Thank you for choosing to stay in our property Property Owner

The house was perfect, exactly as described with everything you could need. Situated on the beach (almost) with an easy walk to the high road with quirky shops and places to eat and close to the canal. Both Sainsburys and Waitrose are within walking distance. We used it as a base to explore the Kent coastline and it was perfect.

Annoying waste of car space. Some glass dessert dishes would be good. A bottle of milk would have been appreciated, a nice useful welcome. The Lazy Shack is an amazing amenity to have on the doorstep.

The decor was light and attractive. The way the instructions were close to things like the thermostats and showers made them much easier to work rather than having to search for them somewhere in a drawer! Simple, easy to understand and attractively presented. The town of Hythe was lovely and the property made a good base to explore the coast. Good exercise as well climbing the stairs!

"Visited the property over the February half term with my family."
The property was beautiful and exactly as described on the site. Waking up to sea views on a daily basis was just lovely, neighbours were all so friendly and the area was very quiet. A definite thumbs up from my kids. Added bonus was also the property had loads of board games which kept the whole family occupied. We will definitely be making many more future bookings.

"Total lack of interest in customer care."
No consideration for the fact that costumer circumstances had changed since pandemic. Only consideration is maximising Sykes profits, as with rearranged bookings last year . Booking with Sykes over last 12 months or so has been too stressful. We will not use again and advise others not to either.

The house itself is positioned in a great place, so close to the beach and with lovely views from the upper two floors. It was so lovely to wake up to a gorgeous sea view every morning. The house is lovely, very clean and with everything we needed for a great holiday, and easy walking distance to the centre of Hythe for shops and restaurants.

Property is lovely with all the facilities needed and spotlessly clean. Didn't realise from description that there were apartments in front and behind, although this didn't detract from the great time we had - a quiet seaside location within walking distance of shops and variety of restaurants. Would thoroughly recommend the Lazy Shack over the road which was a family run cafe where the food was great and everyone so friendly and welcoming. Rusty table and chair on outside patio which needs to be disposed of and a rusty bird cage decoration outside which also does nothing for the property. No amount of studying the instruction manual could we get the grill to work, but as we ate out every day was not a big problem. Would thoroughly recommend.

"7 Ocean Gateway is a lovely modern house and being over 4 floors was quite quirky and is 30seconds away from the beach."
It had excellent facilities and was fully equipped with everything you might need. The house was lacking any blinds or curtains in the master bedroom on the 4th floor which was frustrating for privacy and when trying to sleep, particularly when the sun starts to rise! We also found the lounge sofas really frustrating as the cushions are removable and become dislodged constantly. The kitchen could do with a recycling bin for cardboard and plastics etc. Other than these minor glitches we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to others.

"A clean and well equipped house but as this property is over 4 floors there are a lot of stairs to climb and holiday-makers need to bear this in mind when booking the house."
The house was clean and well appointed with a large kitchen area, The property caters for 6no people but there are only two sofas and 6 people on these would be a tight squeeze there were no other comfy chairs to sit on the house needs either larger sofas or two airchairs .The kitchen had all the cooking utensils required and more than enough glasses & plates, The Neff dishwasher had no salt or rinse aid and was completely empty of both and when we filled up the machine at our expense with salt & rinse aid it was obvious that the machine had not been filled in months, The garden at the back was small and overlooked by all the other house at the rear of the property so there was no privacy, This area was more a "yard" than a garden, ok if you wanted to barbecue but not much else .The undercroft car parking space was not very wide and a large 4x4 would struggle to park, The property was ideally situated for the pebble beach (no sand for young children ) Hythe as a town was well served by a Waitrose & Sainsburys supermarket and a delightful old fashioned High Street with plenty of pubs and restaurants also plenty of parking at £1.20 per hour The "jewel in the crown" is the Royal Military Canal with lovely walks and boats for hire,

"The holiday home was absolutely amazing."
The furnishings and decor was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. The little instruction notes around the house were extremely helpful and very much appreciated. The location of the house was so peaceful and serene, it made our mini little break even more enjoyable and memorable.

The standard of cleanliness and communication was excellent, and the facilities were high quality. The position, right next to the beach was great. Out the front door, turn left and less than 50 m brings you to the beach. You can park two cars at the front, with further street parking round the corner. The sea views from the upper two floors were appreciated.

Close to the sea and the Lazy Shack. Unfortunately we were given the wrong number for the keybox. So it took a long time to resolve the issue which involved phoning the owner in Spain.

We all enjoyed our stay although not being tec minded it did take us a while to work out how to use the cooker, TV (with Sky Box) and shower. The nearby shooting range did not cause a problem although the recorded voice shouting about being recorded on CCTV was a trifle irritating when parking the car. Only small issues really and didn't spoil a very good holiday.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean on our arrival, the communal areas were comfortable & sociable for 6 of us (all adults) Each bedroom was super comfortable & 3 bathrooms meant there were never any queues. If you’re a light sleeper on light mornings then eye masks will be useful if you want a lie in. Aldi & Waitrose are both walkable (but for a big shop take a car or several people to carry shopping bags!) There are also a great selection of restaurants & pubs serving food, if you don’t wish to use the very good cooking facilities in number 7(add a large casserole pot/saucepan along with sharp knives & it’d be excellent!) Hythe has a wealth of British history to discover, and with the train to Dungeness coupled with walks along the coast & inland we’d definitely like to return to see more of it & no 7 Ocean Gateway is ideally positioned to make the most of this area.

The property
A spectacular four-storey townhouse set in a beautiful development of coastal properties in Fisherman's Beach of Hythe in Kent.
This stunning property features three luxury bedrooms and three luxury Villeroy and Boch bathrooms.
The second floor comprises of an open-plan living area with a high specification Uber master kitchen containing all the finest features and a sitting room that exudes quality and style.
You will feel like the master of the house in the top king-size bedroom with it's own en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe, where you can open the patio door onto the fashionable balcony where you can admire the stunning sea vistas with a refreshing glass of fizz to hand.

Indulge in many watersports or simply take in the fresh sea breeze and relax on the beach enjoying a barbecue whilst enjoying a nice glass of something chilled.
10 minutes away will take you to Dymchurch where there is a vast sandy beach, amusement arcades as well as rock, candy floss and ice cream shops which are great for kids.
A 15 minute walk will take you to the Imperial Hotel with a fabulous spa as well as a Moet and Chandon bar which does provide a wonderful afternoon tea.

About the location
HYTHE
Folkestone 4.3miles; Channel Tunnel 4 miles; Dymchurch 6 miles; Dover 13 miles, Canterbury 20 miles.
Hythe is one of the five original Cinque Ports identifed by Edward the Confesssor as ports that would provide ships and sailors to protect this part of the English coastline from invaders, and in exchange the towns would retain all legal fees assigned in court cases. Of course this made these towns far more prosperous than most towns of the same size, and the result of this can still be seen by visitors when visiting Hythe. Running through the centre of the town is The Royal Military Canal. This was dug during the Napoleonic era as a defensive measure against possible French invasion. Now this lovey waterway is more popular with walkers and those taking a break from work; the grassy banks are a delightful place to picnic or sit and read. You can even hire a rowing boat and row yourself along the Canal and this unique part of Kent. A five minute stroll from the town and you will find yourself on the sea front. This wide promenade overlooks a long stretch of beach, with views over the English Channel to France, it is ideal for a summer picnic and safe bathing. Hythe offers visitors so much with golf, tennis, riding, bowls, squash, boating, windsurfing, freshwater and sea angling all available. Romney Marsh lies west of the town and can be explored by foot, car, bicycle or using the world's smallest public railway. Hythe is the eastern terminus for the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway, so why not climb aboard and alight at Dungeness where you can visit the nature reserve, explore the lighthouse, and perhaps get a chance to see some painters and artists at work, before returning by the narrow gauge railway back to the delights of Hythe.
