  • "The cottage is cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a holiday stay."

The location is wonderful , being very close to the nature reserve and a very good pub!! The owners Robert and Helen are helpful and kind. The lemon drizzle cake awaiting us on arrival was a wonderful surprise. We had the added bonus of being there during a very sunny week - quite unexpected at the beginning of March and we had a great week.

Enjoying a fantastic location along the River Rother with easy access to the estuary from your own private garden, and the stunning High Weald AONB, 23 Coastguard Cottages is a wonderful pet-friendly dwelling for couples or a family of four and their canine companion.

Step into the kitchen, featuring garden views and a handy dishwasher and washing machine, where you can rustle up mouth-watering dishes, ready to be enjoyed at the dining table for four or alfresco out on your private patio.

After dinner, why not take advantage of the steps that lead from your garden up to the river and head out for a walk with your pooch where you can both stretch your legs?

Kick-back and relax on the plush sofas in front of a much-loved film on the Smart TV or challenge your loved ones to a game of table football which can be found in the conservatory.

Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can indulge in a soothing soak in the bath or wash away the day with a refreshing shower after a day of exploring.

When sleep calls, choose from two well-appointed bedrooms to catch your rest, a king-size with views out towards the river and beyond, and a twin.

Explore the local village, where right on your doorstep you will find the popular William the Conqueror pub, well-known for its delicious and fresh seafood and lovely river views.

There is also the welcoming eateries of Avocet Tea Room and Bosun’s Bite, or if you don’t fancy heading out, you can pick up essentials at the well-stocked supermarket.

Outdoor enthusiasts will delight at the nearby wildlife rich Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, where you can spot rare species and visit the landmark Red Roofed Hut, whilst budding historians can enjoy the fascinating remains of Camber Castle, built by Henry VIII, and the abandoned Mary Stanford Lifeboat House.

For a truly memorable experience, why not hire a boat and cruise along the River Rother as you take in the fabulous views?
