"Lovely property in the perfect location just a couple of minutes walk from the main high street."
The host was very communicative and kind. The information packs, books and games were really wonderful for a family stay. "The property was very clean and well equipped."
The property is very near to the station less than 10 mins walking . Very near to all the shops and to a supermarket . Communication with the owner was very good , there is a pub behind this property and we only heard some noise Saturday night but because we were there in the summer , I'm sure cooler months will be quieter. We had a lovely holiday at rye house .

"House was ideally situated for exploring the area."
It had everything that you needed for a great stay. The owner’s email with useful details was very informative. Parking outside the front door was a bonus. Rye itself was a lovely ancient town, with a supermarket and plenty of places to eat out. So many national trust properties and the beautiful Rye Nature Reserve all a short drive away.
-
"Well maintained property, handy for visiting the centre of Rye."
-

A brilliant property in a perfect location for the town.

"Fabulous house right in the centre of Rye with its own parking space."
Spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lovely comfy chair and settees. Highly recommended.
-
"Cosy and well equipped and ideally located for exploring Rye"
-
"Just loved staying here."
The house is in a fabulous location, within easy walking distance to the train station, supermarket, shops and river. It was super clean and had all the comforts of home. We were there at Christmas and were delighted that they'd gone to the trouble of putting up a tree and supplying festive treats, including crackers, napkins and festive placemats. Hope to be back!
-
"My family and I stayed at Rye House for Rye Fawkes weekend."
The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. It's in a fabulous location too - just a couple of minutes' walk from the train station and supermarket and right next door to the Pipemakers Arms! It was perfect for Rye Fawkes as the procession came right past the house. It also has a private parking space which is quite rare in Rye. I highly recommend this property.
-
"Fantastic location, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."
-
"Another great stay."
We'll definitely be back!
-
"A Lovey property."
Practical for us, clean and bright and a lovely touch with the owner leaving wine and biscuits with several condiments in the cupboard. In addition, a lovely welcome card was presented with a suggestion of stargazing. ☺️ The car parking space is also a great asset… and the cottage is located with very easy access to the main streets of Rye. Would highly recommend

"Another great stay."
There had apparently been a slight issue with the immediately preceding occupants, but we were advised of this very promptly and it didn't affect our stay at all.

"This was a very comfortable well equipped cottage ideally located for exploring the town."
Although there was easy parking, you did not need to use the car around Rye. And, an added bonus was being able to get our daily newspaper just a 3 minute walk away. The owners provided excellent information about the cottage and very useful information about the town and its facilities. Highly recommended.
-

! Perfectly located in Rye to explore the local area and equipped to a standard rarely seen in other lettings. A big thank you to Karen and Rachel.

"We had a lovely cosy stay at Rye House."
Everything was perfect. Thank you very much.
-
"Just a thought - getting from the 2nd floor bedroom to the bathroom in the night is tricky, a better banister would help."
Possible to instal an en suite WC up there?? Otherwise absolutely brilliant.
-
"As described (but not always so!"
) right in the centre of Rye. Really well equipped accommodation, very comfortable.
-
"For eating out book restaurants at least the day B4 to get the time that you want this is because of covid 19."
-
"Rye House is a lovely and comfortable house, home from home."
The twin room ideal for children. It is situated very close to the town, bars and restaurants. No back garden. But a lovely place to sit and enjoy the estuary and boats a few hundred meters away. Would love to go back to the house again.
-
"We had a lovely week at Rye Cottage, it is the perfect place to stay in Rye."
The location is superb. Everything was clean and convenient, even with Covid restrictions meaning some home comforts could not be provided. We would book again.
-
"Rye House was very clean and tidy and ideally situated near the town centre for our short break where everything was accessible without the need to drive, the owner was very helpful and informative and the welcome pack on our arrival was much appreciated, Thank you."
-
"We had very good information from the owner about the house and the area, especially with the extra Covid restrictions."
The house is very well located, 5 minutes walk from the supermarket and easy access to the old town. For our party of 5, it was well equipped and not too noisy. The parking space was a useful bonus. All in all thoroughly recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage and area."
only downside is the noise at night if have windows open (people from pub and seagulls) but clean and comfortable.
-
"The place was well equipped."
The owner had made the effort to decorate the place for Christmas and a very good welcome pack was provided reflecting the Christmas spirit. We would thoroughly recommend staying there.
-
"The house was lovely, very well equipped and warm."
Great location so close to all that Rye has to offer. The host provided good information and left a welcome supply of milk, biscuits, wine and a welcome card. We would recommend this house etc to there’s - good for couples, friends and families.
-
"Back door step is very high."
Mum could not manage it.
-
"We didn't have wifi for 5 days ."
The problem was down to the internet provider not the owners, thay were as quick as they could to fix the problem and always informed me of the current situation. Need more information on that you need to take the bin out , didn't know I could open the windows in the loft/roof that needs explaining more. Everything else was beyond my expertation for the price of this fantastic house in the town of Rye.
-
"We had a most comfortable stay at Rye House."
Everything had been provided including some wine, milk and cookies. The property is scrupulously clean and perfectly situated to enjoy Rye on foot; we had a wonderful holiday and we would highly recommend it. The only things to be aware of is that it can be intermittently noisy if you like to have the windows open at nighttime.
-
"Beautifully kept property very warm welcome and every comfort provided."
Would highly recommend it.
-
"The whole experience was brilliant."
The booking was easy. The owner of the property e-mailed all instructions needed and supplied lots of information for us. The house was exactly as stated, also very clean and comfortable with a welcome present of biscuits and wine. We couldn't have asked for better.
-
"Very nice cottage, clean, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, bathrooms ok, nice bedrooms."
We appreciated the little touches upon our arrival, as well as the opportunity to arrive earlier in the day. A big plus, considering the location really in town is the attached parking lot, large enough for a large family car. We were not at all bothered by the noise, given the proximity of the pub. in short, I think we'll come back next year
-
"What a wonderful welcome awaited us at Rye House when we arrived for our Christmas holiday."
Not only was there a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, but a lovely welcome pack with all sorts of goodies. The house was so comfy, warm and welcoming, and far more spacious than we were expecting. The kitchen was the best equipped I have ever seen, but it was also all the thoughtful little details that made it such a lovely place to stay, like the miniature models on the light pulls. The high street of Rye is very close by, and is utterly charming to explore. Favourite memory is being by the church with bells ringing and lights twinkling as darkness fell on Christmas eve. We also enjoyed being able to go for lengthy walks on the beaches, despite the time of year - getting plenty of fresh air. There was lots more we could have done, so I would definitely go again to continue exploring the area further. A fabulous place to stay at this time of year, we were sorry to leave!
-
"We could not fault the cottage."
It was immaculate and suited our needs perfectly. The location is ideal for the centre of town and the off street parking was essential for the bonfire weekend.
-
"Great position in Rye."
The house was spotless and the facilities were great. The only thing that we could find wrong which we were warned about was the Pub behind the house which was noisy on Friday and Saturday nights but only really affected the back bedroom. Otherwise perfect.
-
"The whole experience was great."
Cottage easy to find, information given was excellent. Central location. The locals were very friendly especially in the Pipemakers Arms, the pub next door. Rye is a lovely friendly destination.
-
"We had a fabulous stay at Rye house & wish we'd stayed longer."
Fantastic position in the centre of Rye. The pub next door, added to our experience because even though there was loud music & live band playing, it was our kind of music so we could sing along. We wouldn't hesitate in booking again,in fact we can't wait !!
-
"The accommodation would have been perfect in every way but it was let down badly by the pub next door."
Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights there was very loud music and people noise until the early hours. Saturday especially as there was live music until 1.00am but noise continued until 2.30am. The ensuite room was the quietest but the other two bedrooms suffered badly. A big shame as an otherwise perfect location and property.
-
"Clean, comfortable well-equipped house in a fantastic location."
A real home-from-home. Owner was extremely helpful too. We'd definitely come back!
-
"What a lovely house, perfect location for exploring Rye and the surrounding area."
Perfect weather made our stay wonderful and relaxing. The owner ensured everything was in place to ensure a stress free holiday.
-
"If there is self-catering in Heaven, this house will be there."
-
"The house was perfect for our purposes: it accommodated six people from three generations without any strain (three toilets helped), was well-equipped, comfortable and clean."
The location was within short walking distance of Rye's main attractions.
-
"Ould you like to tell us anything else about this holiday?"
I was really impressed with the owners communication before arrival as well as the extra little touches provided, it really made our Christmas extra special and was above and beyond. The cleanliness of the property was way above expectations and overall we could not have been happier with the house as a whole

About the location
RYE
Camber 5 miles; Hastings 12 miles; Battle 16 miles.
Rye is a 13th century cinque port in East Sussex, host to the River Rother, Romney Marshes and a history dating back before the Norman Conquest. A cobbled town offering an excellent array of unusual shops, antique emporiums, galleries selling local artist paintings and pottery, Rye also has a delightful range of tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and historic inns. There is also a weekly general market on Thursdays, as well as a farmers’ market every Wednesday morning. The town played host to BBC film crews for nine weeks in the summer of 2014, while filming of the TV series Mapp and Lucia took place, which has now been made into a DVD. All coastal scenes were filmed in nearby Camber Sands and bits of filming also took place in Hastings and the Tenterden Town railway station. Walkers and birdwatchers can enjoy a footpath leading across the marshes to Camber Castle built by Henry VIII. Local attractions include miniature or full-size steam train rides, local vineyards, stately homes, castles, gardens and beaches, including the beautiful nearby Camber Sands. Artists and photographers will especially enjoy the scenery; big skies, winding roads, and picturesque villages with ancient inns and tea shops. A truly relaxing and wonderful holiday destination.
