"It was a great stay in the cottage."
Superbly furnished with everything you need. Very lovingly and stylishly furnished. Beautiful large and quiet garden. Situated in a small wood. Away from the hustle and bustle. After three days in London, we thought it was great!
It was a pleasure to have you and your lovely family here Sabine. I’m so pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Property Owner

"Lovely spacious cottage that provided everything and more for our holiday."
Set in beautiful surroundings with trees, birds, squirrels and a resident pair of peacocks. Plenty of bridleways and footpaths for walks with the dog. Dianne the hostess could not be more friendly or helpful. She had even arranged good weather! Would not hesitate to recommend this for a wonderful restful holiday. Hope to stay again.
Thank you so much Patricia, Good weather is definitely a bonus, however, not sure I can take credit for that! It was lovely having you stay and hopefully see you again. Property Owner
-
"Really nice weekend away."
Lovely garden, really good for a recharge!
-
"Lovely property very comfortable and warm."
A little remote so be prepared to drive. Bottle of Prosecco in the fridge which we assume was for us, maybe a little note would have been nice.
-
"Lovely relaxing and comfortable cottage."
Enclosed garden for our dogs, which is a huge bonus. Equipped with everything you need - very happy with our stay. Local friendly pub around the corner and easy walk into Deal for the shops, more friendly pubs and great beach/promenade walks. The Algar Lodge farm shop cafe breakfast is wonderful and the shop has some nice produce. Dianne is a lovely host - made to feel very welcome. We will return.

"Nice place to stay."
Lovely walks, and accommodation was as described.

"We were greeted by the owner Diane, pretty hard to find the cottage when it’s pitch black and the instructions weren’t clear."
The parking isn’t very convenient as we were supposed to park a long way from the cottage in a wooded area, however the lovely neighbour let us park in her drive!!! I have to say, the neighbours are absolutely delightful, so helpful and kind with assisting us with a lost parcel and showing us where to go when we arrived. They must get tired of people coming and going but didn’t show it at all. They were just lovely. The WIFI is terrible. We struggled all week to get a signal and mainly used all of our 4G up. It could do with Broadband and not 4G connection given how much people rely on their laptops and phones. Both beds were pretty hard and uncomfortable and the second bedroom could use two single beds instead of one double. Our twins are 14 and they weren’t keen on sharing a double bed together! Can’t imagine adults or other children would like that either. The kitchen is fairly well equipped but you wouldn’t want to cook a roast dinner as there is a lack of utilities. The property has a lot of character and is an interesting design. It does look as though pieces from varying houses have been placed in the house as nothing matches - modern, boho, Victorian pictures, mandala canvas, old chairs, up cycled chairs - it didn’t flow well & honestly looked like leftovers from other properties. The sofa in the lounge area was extremely uncomfortable. However the electric fire was cosy. The Prosecco was a nice touch as well as the dressing gowns and slippers. Would I recommend the property? Probably not - but we wouldn’t go back to the area again anyway. The neighbours were the highlight though as they were just so accommodating and friendly.
Dear Matthew, It was lovely to meet you and your wonderful twin daughters last week. It’s very unfortunate that you were unsatisfied with some aspects of your stay, as if we had communicated about any of these issues during your trip I would of been more than happy to address them. I have since rebooted the WiFi signal and it is showing an excellent connection, it’s a shame that I had not known of this issue for you until now, as I am always close by to help solve issues as they arise. We make sure to keep our amenities fully updated on the website to make sure guests know what we can offer. Kind regards, Dianne Property Owner

"The cottage is well kept and is in a very quiet and peaceful area which is located near to both Deal and Sandwich."
It is spacious and has all the amenities that you would expect and was also very accommodating for our dog. The gardens in which the cottage is set are also very well kept and provided a nice area in which to sit in the evening. All in all it proved to be a perfect location for us to visit places around this section of the Kent coast. The owner is very friendly and was on hand if we needed anything. We would therefore throughly recommend this cottage for their holiday or break
-

It's such a beautiful, secluded spot, it feels like such a gem. We feel so welcomed with our two children and dog and the grounds are so stunning. It's close to so many Kent attractions, so really well positioned. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

"The property was so comfortable and clean."
A real home from home. Diane, the owner was very friendly and helpful on the first day when we arrived and we enjoyed it all. The garden was big and full enclosed,so we felt safe letting our dog out early in the morning and evening.

"This is a wonderful cottage, perfectly placed for dog walking - which is exactly what we wanted."
Very clean, very comfortable, and it had everything we needed. The cottage is away from the road so very quiet, and Dianne (the owner) is next door, so if there are any issues she's easily contactable. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it.
-
"This is a beautiful historical cottage in stunning woodland surroundings with local dog walks a plenty & very close to town."
The property is well equipped & Dianne is on hand next door for any queries. We were so pleased with our stay that we’ve booked again next year.

"The property - and owner - are very welcoming."
It's an extremely quiet, comfortable place to stay, well located to explore that part of the Kent coast. Easy to visit Deal, Sandwich and further afield along the coast. The property is tasteful and really well looked after. Nice to stay where the owner has taken so much effort to make the holiday pleasurable.
-
"Everything was as we expected it to be, very clean and tidy."
We stayed at cottage for a week to enable us to visit family we haven’t seen for 15 years. Very nice location, very quiet and glad we stayed.

"The cottage felt like a home, with key personal touches that make it special."
We've hired lots of holiday homes, never been welcomed with a bottle of fizz before. The house is undersold in your brief. It was larger better furnished and equipped than expected . The garden is large ,secluded and shaded. Justbright for global warming! We had a brilliant holiday. The Cottage was the basis of it. Thankyou Ps needed microwave dishes for cooking and sharp knives.
-
"We had a lovely holiday staying in Woodlands by the sea cottage."
It was a lovely home in a beautiful location. The cottage has everything you will need. The garden is lovely and we spent a few afternoons and evenings sat there relaxing. Diane the owner was a lovely, helpful lady, and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is just outside Deal and we walked there within 15 mins. It is in an ideal location for exploring places like Dover, Broadstairs and Canterbury. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
-
"Beautifully presented cottage in idyllic location."
Very clean and comfortable accommodation with everything we needed for our stay. Bubbly in the fridge and coffee maker (with coffee provided) a very nice touch. Garden was superb also. Owner was very hospitable and welcoming without being at all intrusive. Would recommend to anybody
Thank you for your feedback and glad you both enjoyed your time here. Property Owner
-
"Wonderful and peaceful stay- this was one of our best staycations ever as a family."
The kids really loved the nearby play area, garden, and the access to Netflix (which we don't have at home). We appreciated the little extras like the welcoming Prosecco and milk on arrival. Wonderfully spacious and light accommodation, and the dog really liked exploring the new area and kept a constant lookout for all the different wildlife. The owner helped us out by installing the WiFi Booster, it made working in the cottage wonderfully easy. We completely enjoyed our visit, and will return if we are in the area again! Thank you!

"We had a fantastic holiday, and enjoyed the house and gardens very much."
It's a real gem not to be missed. We were made to feel very welcome with our two young children who loved it. Enjoyed using it as our base to explore the surrounding areas and visit family. A very spacious, well equipped and beautiful property. Thank you
-
"Delightful cottage with a lovely garden."
Cottage was spotlessly clean and the kingsize bed was very comfortable, sofa bed / couch not so. Large rotating TV made it easy to watch TV whether you were in the lounge or dining area. WiFi signal was weak and certainly not broadband standard. On a direct bus route, but car parking out of sight and between the trees was not easy, especially if another car was parked there.
Hi Ken Thanks for your feedback and it was great having you here. Regarding the Wi-Fi, I appreciate that during your stay we had issues with the connection, and in response have installed a new Wi-Fi connection in the house so the Wi-Fi is now up to full speed. Thanks Dianne Property Owner

"Our second time to stay at Woodlands by the Sea Cottage - and just as lovely to be there in the winter as in the summer."
Nicely decorated for the festive season - visiting the town of Deal during the Christmas period was very enjoyable and we were lucky enough to get lots of walks in along the coast and over the Cliffs of Dover. Thank you Dianne for making us feel welcome - we had a very lovely peaceful Christmas.
-
"Nice property, just a 2 mile walk from Deal seafront."
Makes a nice walk with the dogs. Plenty of room to walk the dogs in the woods for their morning and evening ablutions. Nice large property with 2 lovely bedrooms. Loads of room for 2 couples upstairs but living room area may be a little cozy with 4 people in there. Kitchen was well equipped, but one thing my wife commented on was the lack of a measuring jug, or ovenproof dishes in which to prepare casserole type meals. The only 2 negatives for us was, it was very bad weather with storm Arlene blowing a gale and we could not get the rooms to heat up further than what they were set for. Tried to just turn the dial up a few degrees on the boiler, but to no avail.. Nothing in the notes and we didn't want to start messing with any of the boiler settings. Also didn't want to annoy the owners every 5 minutes. The sofa in the living room was not great at all. I think it must be amongst the top 3 list of uncomfortable things I've ever sat on. I would defy anyone to sit still for more than 10 minutes without having to rearrange their buttocks. We only had a 3 night break, so none of these things spoiled our stay, but I think a week would have been a different matter.
Hi Gary First of all, it was great having you here and thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you had an enjoyable stay overall but i'd like to respond to a few points you have made. 1. The heating has been checked and it is working, and is not pre-set. It is up to guests to determine the level of heating based on their requirements, as specified on Point 2 in the house manual. 2. Thank you for identifying certain Kitchen equipment that we could bring in, we will follow up on that. I'm sorry that you experienced such terrible weather and thank you again for your comments. "Lovely place, certainly didn't disappoint."
Particularly enjoyed watching the squirrels in the garden.
-
"Great location and very helpful."
Would of liked a dishwasher.
-
"Great cottage and location, lots to see and do Locally - my only critique is that the size of the fridge was far too small for a family of four."
It meant we had to shop daily. The grounds are stunning , the rooms really spacious and lots of living space too
-
"Lovely holiday cottage in an excellent location, the property is spacious with large bright rooms, tastefully decorated."
Shared garden and enclosed paddock which the dog appreciated. Our host Dianne was very helpful and accommodating, I would highly recommend and would certainly stay again.

"Good location to explore this part of Kent."
Quiet area with a lovely garden. Was very impressed with Deal, visited a few years ago and has improved to the extent we will come again.

Also many interesting places to visit, particularly the pretty towns and villages near by.
-
"This was the best holiday cottage we have ever booked, Very spacious accommodation set in what would have a large private family home and private estate."
Now is a piecefull setting close to all Kent coastal towns and places of interests.
-
"We had a fabulous time at Woodlands by Sea Cottage."
Dianne was most welcoming and we were very impressed by the little extras ie spare slippers and dressing gowns and a lovely chilled bottle of Cava. The area was full of things to explore from the Petticoat Lane Emporium in Ramsgate to the lovely wild and windy Dungeness. Sandwich Bay was beautiful and the town was very quaint. Deal itself was very interesting with the lovely little streets and tiny cottages. We will definitely return to explore some more. Regina Aoife and Niamh
-
"Positives: Friendly and helpful landlord Pleasant rural location Comfortable bed Negatives: The maisonette is directly connected to the next door property via a wooden door."
This allows a significant amount of noise to transfer between the two properties. The allocated parking space is in an unpaved wooded area away from the property where my car unfortunately got covered in bird droppings. Reliable internet service, but the WiFi signal extends to the lounge area only. No dishwasher and the fridge is very small.
-
"Lovely cosy cottage - real home from home, has everything you need."
We stayed here whilst work was being undertaken in our own home. The owner left lovely treats for us and the dog and was on hand to make sure we were ok after an unexpected power cut (Not a usual thing). Lovely private location with good walks nearby. Lots to do in the local area.
-
"We had a peaceful and relaxing weekend in the lovely cottage."
Great to get away to such a pretty area and just before #lockdown2, so great timing
-
"Thanks for everything including the Cava!"
Cottage is lovely and had everything we needed (including biscuits)
-
"Thank you for a lovely stay!"
It's been a wonderfully relaxing break away from the city. The accommodation is both snug and spacious and well situated for exploration. Thank you as well for the supplies to get started - Much appreciated!
-
"Thank you for towels to dry the dog and his treats that he loved."
Thank you for the bottle of prosecco and I did manage to make a meal on the stove (eventually). Had a great holiday, weather kind to us. Enjoyed the help that you gave us when needed. Brilliant holiday, thanks
