  • "This was a very comfortable stay, just a half-mile walk from the centre of Tenterden, a very compact and attractive small town, with an impressive range of shops and services."

There is much to explore and visit in the surrounding area. The parking for Vine Cottage is roadside and free, though parking very close to the Cottage seems to depend on the time of day and twice we had to park overnight in an adjoining road. The house was well-equipped, though we thought it would be nice to have a radio. Some people may find the stairs rather steep. The garden was nicely cared-for and pleasant to sit in. We were pleased that we had chosen Vine Cottage for our stay.

Thank you for your lovely review! We’re delighted that you found Vine Cottage comfortable and appreciated its convenient location near Tenterden’s charming town centre. It’s fantastic to hear you enjoyed exploring the area, and we’re glad the garden provided a pleasant spot to relax. The television in the cottage is a Smart TV, which includes a comprehensive radio selection. We'll make sure to share this with future guests. We’re so glad you chose Vine Cottage and would love to welcome you back again soon! Best regards, Trudy & Barry Property Owner

The bed and furnishings were comfortable and it was well equipped with all we needed. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits were provided as a welcome. The only thing was the road outside which we found rather noisy. Every thing you require is provided for self catering, even 2 pairs of kitchen gloves, tea towels etc. and a large fridge/freezer. The garden is large and well maintained with good seating areas. The interesting town of Tenterden is only a few minutes walk away and well worth exploring. For older people the stairs have narrow treads and are rather steep, thank goodness for the handrail. Also the on street parking may not provide a space near the house which can be inconvenient when unloading/loading the car. However we were disappointed about the television and the quality of the channel reception tv was terrible. For the owner perhaps not a problem but for the guest who like to watch tv it must be perfect. At least one of the 2 bedrooms a tv would be recommedable. Please no cleaning mop for hygiene.

Thank you for your feedback it is very much appreciated. We were concerned about your comment regarding the TV. It is a Samsung Smart TV and less than one year old. We visited you and demonstrated the remote control. If you were still uncomfortable with this we would have been more than happy to return. Since you left we ran a diagnosis to confirm that all software was up to date. The TV worked perfectly well with 76 digital terrestrial UK TV channels, 24 radio stations and 137 Samsung TV Plus channels. Cleaning products, including a mop were in the cupboard under the stairs. The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very clean. The garden is also lovely, our two daughters enjoyed playing outside and we enjoyed food and drinks on the patio. The owners were really welcoming and it was easy to get hold of them for any advice. The cottage is in walking distance of the high street, with lots of places to eat in or take away. We really enjoyed the Thai takeaway, that is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For families with younger children there is a great park nearby and lots for them to do. We also enjoyed travelling a little further and visited Camber Sands, Rye and Dover Castle. We would recommend Vine Cottage as a great place for a family break.
