  • "Lovely cottage, thoughtfully kitted out and comfortable."

Perfect for one. Enjoyed the conservatory in particular - spent much of my time there, overlooking the garden, listening to owls in the evening and even a roe deer appeared early one morning. Well located, loads to see and do in the area. Owners friendly and available but unobtrusive.

Easy access to to all of the attractions we wanted to go to. Lovely local pubs (The Horse and Groom/ The Sawn Inn). The hosts very accommodating. Highly recommend.

The conservatory and garden were very good to extend the cottage and the wood burner just what we needed to warm up after getting cold and wet. The location was ideal for visiting many historical sites both English Heritage and National Trust. We had an enjoyable break at Wood Glen Cottage.

. so I was wary that the weather could be chilly. But the photos and description were very promising and we were VERY cosy and comfortable. The cottage is smallish but so well laid out, and the SW facing conservatory delivers lovely sunsets, in fact a lovely place to relax in any weather. Nikki was a perfect host, very welcoming and informative. We both look forward to staying again asap.

  • "A lovely cottage for two, very nicely decorated, large garden with pond and outdoor seating."

Very peaceful surroundings but at the same time close to lots of interesting places. We had a great stay! The only downside was the matrass on the bed which was very soft, too soft for us which meant we did not sleep as well as hoped for. The pub next door which is also used as a landmark in the directions is no longer in use so it might be better to update the instructions and text on website. Linda and René

  • "The owners need to address the following: Milk and tea on arrival."

Better signage to cottage at end of drive. Outside light not working. Flies in garden coming into the conservatory. Very hard towels in bathroom. Underfloor heating difficult to understand and control. I would have raised these issues with the owners on the day we left but no one was around to speak to.

  • "Lovely setting."

Good location. But major problem with having no dustbin at the property. Apart from compositable vegetables there is no provision for the disposal of rubbish until the end of the visit when you should leave the bag from the very small pedal bin in the porch when you leave. So we were forced to take daily rubbish with us and look for car park bins. No instructions for some appliances which caused problems with unusual microwave. Poor lighting in conservatory and small soft bed.

  • "This cottage is beautifully furnished."

The owner is a talented designer with a real flair for interior design which shows in the enormous attention to detail throughout the cottage. The location is perfect: very quiet, away from any main roads and with its own huge natural garden with a small pond and orchard and lots of outside seating which was great for eating out, as was the large attached conservatory which effectively doubles the size of the downstairs space. Perfect for a couple with a lovely bedroom and en suite bathroom. It’s also ideally located for exploring the Sussex Downs, the South Coast great destinations like Brighton and Rye, famous gardens like Sissinghurst and Great Dixter and numerous National Trust properties.

  • "Really sweet, lovely and clean cosy cottage in great quiet location - ideally placed for both coast and countryside."

The Three Cups Inn mentioned as being within walking distance of the property is very close by but is no longer open which might be disappointing for some. It is also not clear when travelling to the property from the north (from Heathfield) that the building was a pub if using this as a landmark.

I did not use the wood burning stove but wood is available on site to buy. Kitchen was just right, very good wifi and the bedroom is so cute! As it was winter I did not sit in the garden but imagine in summer it must be idyllic. Not far from Heathfield town for shops.I did not have a car so used taxis when I needed to get about. The owner greeted me and afterwards unless I needed to ask anything( I didn't) was left in peace and quiet. Pretty lights in the conservatory and nicely decorated interior.

The fixtures, fittings and furnishings are of a high quality. The bathroom has an excellent shower and a heated towel rail, something which many cottages lack. The kitchen is adequate for 2 people and contains all the equipment you can imagine. The sitting room has comfortable seating and the conservatory is a joy to be in on a warm summers day. There are many places to visit nearby and a pub serving good food within easy walking distance. I recommend a visit to Wood Glen for a thoroughly enjoyable cottage break in tranquil countryside that cannot fail to be enjoyed
