  • "The kitchen is very well stocked (which is not always the case with holiday cottages)."

As we cook when we're away we found this a huge bonus. The fridge is also a decent size (again, not always the case). The cottage is quiet, yet close to town and ideally suited to explore Keswick and the surrounding area.

Thank you for your feedback. so glad you appreciated the kitchen. I also like to cook on holiday and it irks me when holiday cottages aren't well equipped, so it really pleases me when people comment on this! We hope you had a lovely week. Best wishes, Katie and John Property Owner

  • "Anne’s Cottage is ideally situated."

Out the back gate onto a path along side the river which led to our surprise into a lovely park. Walking along side of it we soon found it easy to be in Keswick. The cottage has obviously had a lot of thought and love put into it to make it as nice as it is. Nothing has been skimped, the kitchen in particular had everything and more one would expect, all of high quality. Unfortunately we could not get the knack of using the electric hob and used it only once and ate out. Thank you for a lovely holiday , The scenery is so dramatically beautifully. Driving elsewhere will never be the same again. John & Mandy

3 evenings we had to park on corners. Our car was crached seriously by a sharp tool deliberately

Hello, and thank you for your feedback. Very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cottage and its surroundings. Parking is often at a premium in Keswick and the cottage is actually quite fortunate to be a quiet area where parking is usually available close by. The garage key is also provided and that space can be used for parking, it will fit most family cars. I'm sorry to hear about the scratch, there is no accounting for the behaviour of others, and hope you are able to get it sorted. With best wishes, John and Katie Property Owner

The accommodation is wonderfully kept with all matching utensils. I would like to make a suggestion that being a grab rail fitted to the wall in the bath/shower for comfort and safety. Perhaps a little more garden maintenance would be more pleasant to the eye. Just booked again!

Thanks so much for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your time at Anne's Cottage. We are biased of course but we love the location too! The oven is something we are mindful of, for when the time comes to replace it. In the meantime I'm hoping an instruction sheet which I'm bringing up with me in a couple of weeks will help! • "Anne's Cottage is a cosy well equipped cottage in a great location and we would book again."

The only things it would benefit from are a hairdryer, and a blackout blind in the double bedroom like the one in the twin.

Thanks so much for your review and pleased you found the cottage cosy and comfortable. There should be a hairdryer somewhere in the cottage, it's the sort of thing that does get moved around so sorry that you couldn't find it. The blind was a question of pragmatism when first fitting out (as we had to prioritise the easy wins and the window you mention is a non standard size!) but you're right that a made to measure blind would be good for the double room, so we'll sort that. Thanks again and we hope to see you returning for another break! Property Owner

We found the cottage very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. We would love to stay again.

  • "This was the third time we've stayed in Anne's Cottage and, as ever, it didn't disappoint."

The location is perfect for easy access to town or to the fells, and the cottage is clean, cosy and well-equipped. The only negative is that, due to significant price increases, we can't afford to return for a fourth year and will be staying elsewhere instead for our next break in the Lakes. It's a real shame as we have loved our holidays in Anne's Cottage and the children have many happy memories of their time there.

Hi Jennifer, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay again. Pricing is set by our agents so somewhat out of our control, but I will drop you a message separately on this as I don't like to see regular guests being priced out! Best wishes Katie Property Owner

  • "We stay in a lot of holiday cottages, particularly in the Lake District, and Anne's Cottage is probably, overall, one of the best one we've stayed at."

The location is perfect, quiet and a lovely walk through the park into Keswick and other walks from the door. It is so well equipped (the only thing we looked for that would have been handy but couldn't find was some tongs in the kitchen) and a nice highchair available too. There was also travel cots, we took our own for our daughter to sleep in but used the ones there as playpens when we needed a few minutes to get things done! The other thing I really liked was that there was plenty of storage in the bedrooms. We stayed over Christmas and the owner forewarned us about the oven capacity being smaller than you might expect (and it was). I don't know if the listing can be updated to note that there is an Amazon FireStick in the property so you have access to on demand etc. The only thing that would make us hesitate booking here again is the oven to be honest, we just didn't get the hang of it.

Hi Louise, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay, and thought the cottage was well equipped. Good tip on the tongs, I'll get some! Oven replacement will happen at some point, but in the meantime I'll prepare an easy instruction note for it, which hopefully will help. Best wishes, Katie Property Owner

The back garden has the sun all day and hosts a variety of birds visiting the feeders. The location is very quiet and picturesque. Enjoyed the pleasant walk through Fitz Park to the centre of Keswick. As we were there during the extremely hot spell would have appreciated some comfortable garden chairs to sit on as the bench and picnic table are not very comfortable especially for older people. Will definitely be staying at Annes cottage again.

  • "We were extremely pleased and happy with our stay in Annes cottage in Keswick."

It was very clean and had all that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The garden was lovely, with the bench to sit in the sun to enjoy it, and the location was perfect for walking into town and to get to walks further afield. The only thing that could be added is maybe a hand towel in the kitchen and some oven gloves. We did struggle with using the combination oven/microwave. A separate oven and microwave would be much easier to use.

Hello Norma, thank you so much for your feedback and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the note re the towel and oven gloves, these would usually be there I think so will follow to make sure that error doesn't happen again. The oven is what was in the cottage when we bought it, and does have the advantage that worksurface isn't taken up with a separate microwave. When the time comes we will bear in mind when considering a replacement. Best wishes, Katie and John Property Owner

It was comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay though the tv was very limited for evening time. The back garden was a real pleasure, busy with beautiful birds. Anne’s was absolutely ideal for us as a couple and will be first place we look at for future trips to Keswick.

Thank you so much for your feedback and we are so pleased you had a good break. I hope you found the bird seed for topping up the feeder to encourage the birds into the garden. It is such a joy to watch them. We will have a think about tv options; we bring our firestick with us from home when we come to the cottage but can see that you wouldn't necessarily think to do that. • "Generally speaking the Cottage is everything you could want as a couple, close to Keswick and with easy access to good walking."

Although it has two bedrooms, we felt that four people would be cramped and the kitchen is only really usable by one person at a time. Having said that we would recommend it to friends who are a couple, like ourselves. We have reported to the property management company that the bathroom Door does not close. Parking was ok for use as we only moved the car once. Some people at other properties had to park down the road.. We would use again though

Hi John, thank you for your feedback, especially the information about the bathroom door, which we have had fixed. We suspect the problem was caused by slight warping, a result of steam from a new, more powerful shower fitted over last winter and to counteract that we are looking at getting a proper extractor fan fitted as well. We love the location too, a stone's throw from Keswick but great walking from the doorstep. You'd be very welcome to return! I'm sorry you felt the kitchen was small; we have done our best to equip it with things which are a suitable size and scale, like the slim toaster and small slow cooker, to make the best of the space available! The furniture and fixtures are modern and the owners really have thought about the little details - for example, good amounts of crockery and cutlery (including child's plastic cups & plates and small cutlery), some dvds, games and mirrors and waste paper baskets in the bedrooms. Parking in the cul-der-sac is at a premium (noting nearby roadworks increased the pressure) but the garage was a fab extra - we squeezed our car in along with the bikes and then left the car there for the next few days. Given it was less than 10 mins walk into town and barely 2 mins onto the Keswick - Threkeld way, the car is only needed for longer distance trips.
