  • "Bristowe Hill is a stunning house, set in the beautiful town of Keswick."

We had 5 days walking into Keswick, walking up mountains, walking around Derwent Water a truly magical setting. Beautiful local pubs all dog friendly it really couldn't have been better. Our family arranged David to come in and cook us a fabulous meal on the Wednesday evening, with his famous Flap Jacksons beloved by King Charles. Anything extra we needed Lucie who runs Bristowe was always available, Thanks so much for a truly magical stay . Mike Heather and the gang *Imported from Google Reviews.

Location is perfect with a 5 min walk through the park into Keswick town and with the Pheasant Inn located 2 mins away. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay and we will be back for a 3rd time ! 5 stars

  • "We stayed here for a special family celebration."

13 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. The house and grounds are stunning with plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, as well as communal areas where everyone can come together. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The views of Catbells and surrounding fells are superb. Plenty of good walks nearby. Keswick has lots of lovely shops and places to eat out, plus the pencil museum, Hope Park and the Theatre by the Lake. We enjoyed an excellent private dining experience in the grand dining room, provided by The Keswick Kitchen. When the chef was stranded because of localised flooding Jackie and her team went above and beyond to get him and the food to us - thanks to Lucie who saved the day by rescuing him in her Landrover! Everything was perfect and they even washed up. *Imported from Google Reviews

  • "Celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary weekend at this beautiful house with the wow factor in the most stunning location."

The size of the property meant our large group (16 adults & 2 children) had the space they wanted. The dining room is magnificent for special occasions, with 2 kitchens and an orangery for breakfast or BBQs. The decor in the main bedrooms is delightful. They are spacious and comfortable. All our guests loved it. I would like to thank Lucie for being so helpful. Also a huge thank you to Nick Foster Catering. He catered for our BBQ on Friday evening & our big private dinner at the house on Saturday. The food was very good (everybody enjoyed it) and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this mansion. *Imported from Google Reviews.

  • "What a wonderful place this is."

We needed a large house for a family celebration and happened upon Bristowe Hill. We had a great week in this luxurious very spacious house. We loved 2 dishwashers, 2 lounges, lots of bathrooms with loads of hot water, very comfortable beds and lots of parking. We were able to bring our dogs as long as they slept in the kitchen and didn't go on the furniture which was fine by us. Lucie our host was absolutely brilliant, responsive and helpful and very patient with my myriad of questions. Would recommend to all, we will be back

  • "I hired Bristowe Hill as a pre wedding venue for my daughter’s wedding earlier in July."

The house is amazing and even though I had seen photos on the website I still went wow when I went through the front door. Each room has been fantastically designed with comfort and luxury in mind. The kitchen is very well equipped, although if I had a small quibble it would be that the sharp knives were not very sharp. The location of the house is excellent, only a short walk into Keswick and Derwent Water. I must mention Lucie who from start to finish was so accommodating and answered any queries promptly. If I was looking at staying in Keswick with a large group again I would certainly rebook.

  • "We had a great stay at Bristowe Hill manor in Keswick."

The property manager Lucie was very easy to reach and quick to respond. The location was beautiful as well as the manor itself! There were separate sitting rooms so people can have their space. The kids loved playing in the grass outside. Lots of seating areas. All of the rooms had character. Easy walk in to Keswick town - we used the pretty riverside walk to get there. A good base to visit around the Northern Lake District. We also used a caterer - Nick Foster - to give us a catered big private dinner at the house. His food was delicious and there were 20 of us all together. No complaints at all and everyone enjoyed their food. If we ever have a large gathering again in the future, we would love to repeat our experience at Bristowe Hill! *Imported from Google Reviews

The house is perfect for large groups of people and fully equipped to the highest standard. The views from all rooms are stunning and the house is set in beautiful grounds. If you want to make happy memories with family or friends this is the place to be. We were welcomed by Lucie who was so helpful and a lovely array of welcome gifts awaited us upon arrival. I can highly recommend Bristow Hill. *Imported from Google Reviews

  • "A truly outstanding house."

We spent Christmas week here with family. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. The kitchen facilities were excellent as we did all our own catering for the week for over 20 people. All the bedrooms were exceptional. The children enjoyed the outside amenities and there was ample parking for all the cars. *Imported from Google Reviews

  • "We invited our extended family to join us at Bristowe Hill to celebrate a 70th birthday."

We had high expectations of the property from the website and it certainly did not disappoint. Amazing location and stupendous views from virtually every room. Exceptionally well maintained and luxurious accommodation throughout. Very well equipped to self cater for our 19 guests. Very warm welcome by Lucie at the start of our stay and everything explained clearly. We appreciated the plentiful supply of logs for the open fires. Excellent catering for a big celebratory meal by Debs at Choice Catering. An excellent experience enjoyed by all. *Imported from Google Reviews

  • "Our weekend away here is everything I hope for and more."

The property is spectacular, super spacious and if you are looking for accommodation to celebrate something special this is perfect. We booked a private chef for an evening and all dressed up for my 40th celebration. The rest of the time was spent doing long walks, lighting a fire and chilling out in one of the cosy living areas. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Bristowe Hill."

We used it for a long weekend for a large group of old friends (couples) celebrating the 60th birthday year for many of us. The house was superb and perfect for us. It is a large and very elegant authentic country Manor which has been fitted out and equipped to a very high standard and was immaculately clean and well maintained, which is not always the case with large older properties with such character. Sometimes the pictures on the websites can be deceiving, for Bristowe Hill they can’t do it justice! The location is great too, the elevated location on the small hill just on the edge of Keswick gives stunning views, but it is just a short five or ten minute walk to the town centre. Three or four of the bedrooms are absolutely spectacular and although most of the rest are also excellent, and all our at the very least very comfortable and clean, the only reason that we have not given five stars for rooms is that two or three of the them are much smaller than the rest, despite being perfectly clean and comfortable. This just does mean that room allocations can be contentious if the house is fully occupied, purely because of how amazing the best rooms are! We would highly recommended Bristowe Hill for large parties and will probably be making a gathering of this group an annual event at Bristowe Hill.

  • "The house is beautiful and very well situated, close to the amenities in Keswick but detached enough for it not to s=feel like a town house."

It is very well appointed and the interior decor is stunning. The kitchens are large and well appointed though we did find the ovens slightly difficult to get started with. Some basic instructions for these may help. For a large party this is a superb house and fully deserves the awards it has received and we had a really good weekend there. Could it be improved? A slightly better music system would help (I think we found an Alexa but better speakers in each of the communal rooms would be a nice feature. Instead we did use the piano and that was an unexpected bonus. Overall a really lovely property. For the price, a slightly earlier check in would have been nice (5 pm is a bit late. We are Lakelovers owners too and our check in is earlier).
