  • "Great location, size, and comfort."

Linens were all nice. Parking was easy to understand. Only issue was got water ran out during one day, resulting in a cold shower post-hike. If the 'boost' on the water heater had been made clearer beforehand, would be 5*

  • "Lovely very central flat."

It was very clean, spacious and has everything you’d need. The location is fantastic. Good information from the owner in advance and very responsive. We had a problem with a car park penalty notice on our last day (which was a mistake). Contacted the owner who resolved it within an hour. There was a bit noise outside on the Friday evening because it’s so central but not enough to bother us and it didn’t go on late. Worth it for the great location. We would definitely book again.

I noticed that the welcome books are out of date one has the right WiFi code and one doesn’t, it also says check out is 10am but your site says 9am, the apartment was very cold on the first night maybe in colder months the heating could be put on for the arrival of guests, everything else was perfect, very clean and comfortable, has everything you could possibly need

Exception, spacious, apartment. All essentials provided at no extra cost, beds comfortable and living area clean. Very friendly owners, who were informative when queries were asked leading up to stay. Thanks for the Prosecco, lovely welcome gift to bring in the New Year. Definitely be coming back. Highly recommended

  • "Generally good but two points: 1."

One normally expects cotton sheets at Lakelovers properties. The synthetic bed linen at Castlerigg was rather disappointing. 2. The bathroom sink plug was faulty and the sink did not drain properly.

  • "The apartment was not clean."

Considering we have to checkout at 9 for a "deep clean" it was very dirty. Hairs everywhere, in beds, bath and all over the floor. The red rug was filthy. Dust everywhere, like a lot, it's not been cleaned properly for a long time.

Thank you for taking the time to go give feedback following your departure from Castlerigg, We are disappointed to hear that you felt the property was not clean. Had you brought this to our attention the morning following your arrival when we called to check all was ok or when you contacted us the day following that we would have been able to investigate and rectify any issues which needed attention immediately. • "Enjoyed the hoilday cottage."

We equipped with lots of glasses, mugs etc and John Lewis plates. I would definitely come again. We had some noise from the other bars and things on Friday and Saturday evening though nothing excessive.

  • "This is our third stay at Castlerigg and its a fab flat in a very convenient part of Keswick and we have always enjoyed our stay there."

My only criticism is the bed and bedding has never been changed since our first visit in 2019 and is seriously in need of an upgrade

  • "The location of the apartment was great."

However, I think prospective hirers should be advised that there are licensed premises on each end of the block in which the apartment is located which can be noisy on weekends. Also hirers should be advised that in Station Street there is another holiday cottage letting business with an extremely similar name as we tried the lock box on the wrong letting office and nearly had to stay in a B&B overnight.

  • "We stayed at Castlerigg two year ago and were really impressed with the apartment."

It wasn’t available last year when we were in Keswick so had to stay elsewhere, so this year we booked earlier and again we weren’t disappointed. Thanks for making a great stay again.

  • "Very nice and clean apartment."

It was also very convenient to be in central Keswick within easy walking distance of the shops and cafes - but of course the flip side of that is it was quite noisy in the evenings at the weekend with live music from the nearby pubs until late (mid-night) and then the noise of people leaving the pubs. Overall had very nice stay

  • "Lovely little apartment, perfectly situated in the heart of a great town."

Clean, well presented and though could sleep more is ideal for 4. 2 minutes from the main square. Parking is covered by a pass at one of the local car parks. Enough locally to do to not need to move it. Or use the public transport do the hard work..

Not a complaint, and it wouldn't stop us recommending it to anyone else, but a cafetiere and corkscrew would have been appreciated.

  • "Property is excellent, well placed and nicely kept."

Electric oven is dated and a bit odd, needs a document to convert its labelling to degrees celsius, never seen that before. Hot water runs out quickly if fully occupied. Staff from the nearby pubs tend to sit on the stairway smoking though, so you have to ask them to move to let you past and then you have to pass through their stench, not so nice Those are minor grumbles, but worth noting nonetheless. Otherwise a great place to stay.
