  • "The only negatives were a cracked wine glass and a couple of dirty plates - probably due to previous guests."

Everything else was absolutely first class. A lovely property with great views just away from the bustle of the town. Excellent

Thank you so much for providing feedback. Apologies for the cracked glass - there is always a bit of wear and tear and we will always replace glasses when we see they need it. And apologies for the plates too. Hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Wifi not fully working."

Rebooted nodes, all OK. Front door lock/key very difficult. No pint glasses(!). Some TV channels no signal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. The WiFi is tricky - we’ve recently changed provider to Andrew’s and Arnold, a boutique (and expensive) provider in an attempt to improve it and we’ve had an Openreach engineer out and it seems much better now. The freesat signal is a similar challenge but we’ve replaced the telly in the main lounge and added one in the master bedroom too. Pint glasses is an easier fix! Hope to see you again. • "Once again this year we had an excellent week, all the facilities were as expected."

As discussed with Sykes the only problem was when all the electric sockets went off on the first evening, causing us problems as fridge and freezer were full, due to an online delivery. Maintenance arrived and managed to reset the electrics within a couple of hours. The same thing happened later in the week but I managed to reset the electrics. This has been reported to both Sykes Cottages and also Lakes Cottages in Keswick. Apart from this it was an excellent stay.

We are very sorry you had problems with the electrics which we have hopefully now sorted - thank you for being so understanding. We are pleased you had a good stay otherwise and would be delighted to see you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Hi,the only serious issue with the property/facilities is the recycling."

To not have separate bins for the food/glass/plastic/metal is a joke. I appreciate it is listed as a business so the bin men will not collect as a residential property but you must take responsibility for the recycling. There is only 1 place in Keswick where you can recycle again crazy!

Thank you for your feedback. This property has a private business bin collection which collects all refuse and separates the recycling on site, we hope this answers your concerns. Lakelovers Owner Team Property Owner

  • "4 of us stayed at Cloud End for 4 nights."

We were very impressed with the property and would certainly recommend it to others. The views were spectacular and all the facilities at the house were excellent. If ever we return for another holiday in The Lakes we will certainly want to stay here again. The only tiny niggle was the 9am check out. We all felt 10am would be more appropriate, still giving 6 hours to prepare for the next check-in at 4pm.

  • "This property came up to our expectations and we had a most enjoyable week staying here."

There were only two things I would like to comment on, the first being the heating which was high and didn’t seem to respond to the room thermostats being turned down. The second is the checkout time. To be up and ready to go by 9 a.m. felt too early and rather as if we were being ‘chucked out’. I appreciate that the house needs to be cleaned but given that we were also asked to leave it clean, deal with the linen and tidy up we should have had more time. I would suggest that you let your tenants leave a little bit later considering that the cleaners have 7 hours to turn the property around.

  • "We enjoyed very much: eating out on the balcony and enjoying the magnificent views; the kitchen being so incredibly well-appointed - loads of mugs, crockery, cutlery, utensils, etc."

We ate lunch and dinner in the house every day of our week's stay and valued the ease of doing so; the roominess of the bedrooms; the general comfort and also child-friendliness of the property.

  • "The property provided the ‘wow’ factor, on our entry into the living room; the views just take your breath away."

We found the property well appointed with everything that we needed for a week’s stay. All the rooms offered plenty of space for our needs, with the balcony seating area as an added bonus. The balcony furniture was excellent quality which was used until late in the evening on most nights as the weather was really kind to us. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone, every need was catered for. We would have no hesitation in returning in future years. Just an excellent property which truly enhanced our holiday.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to give feedback following your stay at Cloud End, we are delighted that you had a wonderful time and do look forward to welcoming you again in the future. - The Owner relations tea,, Lakes Cottage Holidays Property Owner

We had a memorable week. The DVD player struggled to play the DVD I brought from home, where it plays without issue. I suspect the DVD player might need a clean.

  • "The main issue we had was with the outside furniture."

We were unable to use the chairs so not able to eat at the table.2 duvets had 13.5 tog (too heavy and warm) There were a few cleaning issues and chipped dishes.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very sorry that the outside furniture has not stood up to the Lake District weather as we would have hoped - it has now been replaced with brand new furniture which we hope fares better. We have also bought new lighter duvets for summer use as summers seem to be getting warmer, even up here. We always ensure that there are multiple sets of crockery and remove and replace any damages promptly. We were surprised about the cleaning comments as we have never had any problems - indeed our feedback is usually very positive in this regard - but we will continue to monitor things closely. We hope you enjoyed your time in Keswick and will come back again. Property Owner

  • "Property was spotless, well maintained and a pleasure to stay in."

Not far from the town but not so close that it was passed by lots of traffic. Nothing bad to say about the property at all. One thing I would like to mention is that the patio furniture was in need of some care. A number of the chairs were broken in some way. This didn't cause us a problem but could be problematic for bigger parties as some of the chairs had broken backs or crucial fixtures that were coming loose. Could do with replacing as I think the weather has taken its toll on them. This in no way impacted our stay but I felt this should be mentioned so it can be addressed for future parties. I would recommend Cloud End to anyone looking for a place to stay that's close to Keswick and surrounding areas. Would definitely return here for future breaks!

Thanks so much for the great feedback, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We are going to replace the patio furniture as soon as we can find some and have it delivered, hopefully in a few weeks. We hope to see you back soon (with new furniture by then). Property Owner

  • "Everything was great, the views are fantastic the house is spacious and well equipped, six adults and a child and infant stayed plenty of room."

Location is good, twenty minute walk to town, if discovering the lakes by car then ideal as not always needing to drive through town. The only downside is the outdoor table and chairs, it is very weathered and some chairs falling to bits, although this would not put me off booking this house again.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback - we really appreciate the time taken to do this and are glad you enjoyed your stay. We have recently replaced the sun umbrella and will look to upgrade the outdoor furniture over the summer when we can get to the property. We hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

The kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking and storage. A lovely place to come back to each day. The living room and dining table would be a bit cramped for eight adults, but for the six of us, it was just right.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. We are a family that loves cooking and so a well equipped kitchen is important to us. We hope to see you back sometime soon. Property Owner

  • "Cloud End is a delightful house, with excellent fixtures and fittings."

The views over Keswick and surrounding hills from the patio are breathtaking. The kitchen is very well equipped, but a booklet about the Micro wave was really needed, as we thought it was a top oven! The cottage slept 8 but we felt 6 adults in the living area would be enough. The views from the massive picture window in the lounge area were fantastic. We really loved the house and hope to return in the future.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope to come again soon. We never tire of the views of skiddaw and blencathra from the living room either! Property Owner

We love sitting and watching the weather change over Keswick, Skiddaw and Latrigg. The house is very comfortable; the bedrooms are very nice and the bathrooms too. The kitchen is kitted out to cook in; which is quite rare in a holiday home. We love it and I think we will return next year for our 4th visit!
