  • "A lovely clean beautifully presented cottage in a fabulous location."

Close to town and with plenty of hikes on the doorstep. It was quiet and comfortable with all the facilities that we needed. I would highly recommend.

Thank you for your recommendation- hiking from the doorstep makes it impossible to resist the fells! Property Owner

Very comfortable, all the facilities you need and fabulous location

We were chuffed to read your review Mr Symonds. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and found everything you needed in Crow Cottage. Being able to walk (or indeed wheel, drive, or bike) from the cottage to town, fells, parks and the wonderful Derwentwater makes everything so easy! We hope you will choose to stay with us again! • "We had a lovely stay, probably one of the best cottages we’ve stayed at in our 30 years of visiting the Lakes."

Kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were all very comfy! The only slight niggles were the lack of a handheld shower, which made washing the kids hair a bit tricky in the bath. Also, if you have a large car it’s really hard to get the right angle to reverse off the drive and then you need to turn around to pull onto the main road, not a huge problem if you have cameras/parking sensors but worth noting. All in all we had a fabulous stay and we’d definitely come back again!

We were delighted to read your review! When we set up the cottage we tried to make sure it had everything we wished was in the cottages we have stayed in over the years. We are glad it hit the mark for you. Thanks for the feedback about the hand held shower. Will see what we can do about that. The driveway has a knack to it- we’ve widened the gate as much as we can. We very much look forward to welcoming you at Crow Cottage again! Property Owner

  • "The property was beautiful however needed a good clean."

The hoover was absolutely full! The floor in the kitchen needed cleaning around the sides. The mattress cover on the king bed was stained ( only saw this when we stripped the bed - ugh!) The windows need cleaning. The utensils/ pots and pans were dirty. The ceiling lamp at the top of the stairs was dirty. Extraction fan in bathroom dirty. Also advertised as having a log burner but no logs supplied - you need to make this clear on your advertisement and state you need to bring logs. Sadly this let this beautiful cottage down! Not hard to rectify.

Thanks for your feedback and I’m sorry the cleanliness of the cottage fell short of your expectation this weekend. That’s not the standard we aim for and we’re putting it right straight away. If you choose to stay again, or for other guests, if anything is ever amiss, and no matter how small, our property manager Tracey is superb. She lives 5 minutes away and will always come to put it right. Her number is in the house so please, do always call her or Lakelovers direct. We have our spring clean planned over the next week so that will set us straight in terms of a deep clean but I’ll be sure to tackle all the cleanliness items you raise ahead of the next guest arriving. I’d specially mention the log burner- the property is self catering and that extends to logs too. They are readily available in town but I appreciate you may have preferred to bring your own. I’m working with Lakelovers to update this on our website so there can be no misunderstanding for future guests. Thanks again for sharing your feedback. Property Owner

  • "It is a lovely house , beautifully maintained and we had a great holiday thanks."

Just the dripping bath taps which we couldn’t stop and also the family bathroom sink tap sometimes dripped . I brought a cafetière from home as I remember from last year there wasn’t one ( I’m not keen on the machine coffee). Beds sooooo comfy , fabulous oven. Thank you very much . Jo Liggins

Thanks for the feedback- we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Crow Cottage. I sleep better in the beds there than at home. We will get onto the taps - we thought we fixed them during our stay in Feb - looks like it’s time for a plumber! We hope you choose to stay with us again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and our second stay - would consider staying again."

3 good sized bedrooms and two sitting rooms means there is loads of space. Only annoyance is that the owner has not arranged for recycling collection (presumably as they won’t pay council tax).

Thankyou for choosing us for a second time, and for your feedback. Crow Cottage is indeed a large property with three good sized bedrooms and two living rooms, so thanks for highlighting it. As a business, Crow Cottage is liable for business rates rather than council tax and we separately pay for a weekly refuse collection. As detailed in the guest handbook, there are recycling facilities in the Otley Road car park less than a five minute walk away. Asking guests to take care of their own recycling helps us to manage costs for our guests. This is the first time we’ve had this feedback so we won’t make any immediate changes but will monitor on an ongoing basis. We hope you choose to stay with us a third time! Property Owner

The cottage is beautiful, set in lovely surroundings and very well equiped with everything you need for your stay. It is in the perfect position, three minutes walk into Keswick market square and very easy access to the A66 and the surrounding areas of the lake district. This is probably the best cottage we have spent a holiday in and would definitely stop here again and have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone thinking of spending time in this area, you will not be dissapointed.

Thank your for the review - proximity to the town centre yet the secluded garden makes it feel a world away! We are glad you enjoyed the welcome pack and your stay. Thank you in advance for future recommendations. Property Owner

Absolutely faultless, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. We’ve booked to return next year. • "The property was well maintained and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay with the family including a 16 mth old toddler."

It was very quiet despite the proximity to the Penrith Rd and the parking for two cars great. Couple of points to note, the cot provided doesn't have a mattress so check out its dimensions if you want to use it. Also the garden is not secure due to a gap in the hedge by the gates. We were able to block it off by moving a wooden structure so that our grandson couldn't easily escape. That said, we would certainly stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback. We do hope you come again- if so you will find the garden fully secure - we have replaced the fence that was down during your stay. Kind regards Natasha and Richard Property Owner

  • "Generally a lovely house in a very central location."

We enjoyed our stay enormously and would likely return. The essentials are great - plenty of hot water, effective heating and comfy beds. We loved the 3D map of the fells and the little touches like board games and Beatrix Potter books. There were only a few details that would have made our stay perfect. The travel cot provided is not really suitable for a baby to use as the 'mattress' that it comes with is far too hard. It meant that we were unable to use this for our 10 month old daughter, which was very difficult. The WiFi signal throughout the house isn't brilliant - this was only a problem for us as baby monitors depend on WiFi signal. It also seems to affect the smart TV in the lounge as it cannot connect.

5 minutes walk (if that) from the main shopping area in Keswick and space for 2 cars to park safely. We were absolutely blown away by Crow Cottage. It was so clean, luxurious and with lovely modern touches. The communication we had with the owners prior to our stay, and also the housekeeper during our time there was brilliant. Smaller living room has a radiator completely blocked by furniture. And the larger room is serviced by a really small radiator partially blocked by furniture , radiators in the bay window would help.
