"The double bed in the ensuite room is a SMALL double and should be made clear in your description."
View from the side window is simply awful, but not the fault of the apartment owner. It does detract from the enjyoment of the stay. We kept the curtains closed whenever we were in. The check in and checkout times (especially checkout!) are ridiculous and means the last day is rushed, which again detracts from the enjoyment of the break.

"My wife and daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The place was far more spacious than we were expecting. It was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The street was pleasant and quiet. The only drawback is the issue of accessibility. For those with mobility issues, there are quite a number of stairs to climb to arrive at the entrance. Other than that, this place is first-rate!

"Great place, would stay again."
Only negative was the toaster that kept tripping the electrics but the oven grill did the job instead.
-
"Lovely property however the advertising does not mention the amount of stairs to get to the second floor apartment."
The stairs is only mentioned after you have booked it and paid for . I have a lung condition which made it difficult for me climbing them had I known I would have looked elsewhere. However it was still a lovely place and did enjoy my stay
-
"A really cosy and tastefully furnished flat with everything that was needed."
We loved coming back to it after our days on the fells.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the property and all the area has to offer. Lakelovers Owner Team Property Owner

"Generally we were very satisfied, but we have some remarks and suggestions: A bit complicated key system."
We were two couples and only one set of keys. We missed an extra lamp in one corner in the living room. (Mood lighting). Better frying pans and more cutlery (knives and forks) would be useful. We couldn’t light the gas fire in the living room despite following instructions.

"A beautiful and comfy apartment."
One of the nicest I’ve stayed in in Keswick. Everything was super, except a slightly temperamental kettle ( it kept switching itself off). Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay whilst exploring Keswick: the apartment is on a quiet residential street with easy access to shops, cafes, bars and walks in and around Keswick. Views from the windows are also lovely.

"Extractor Fan in small en-suite not working and freezer is falling away from rest of kitchen units."
Perhaps these days a larger smart TV would be useful. Everything else fantastic

"My family and I were again happy to stay at the flat on Helvellyn Street, so much so that we have booked again for next year."
Can I suggest a few upgrades for the flat, two simple things: 1 better internet access, which can help keep restless kids at bay; 2 a new DVD player, which can help combat boredom when the Keswick rain decides to come down. Apart from these two things, we once again enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Rev. Garry Brotherston

"Our first impression of the property was it was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed."
It was advertised as a second floor apartment but because I have pain in my muscles and joints the 39 steps to get to the apartment was a bit of a struggle for me. However it wld be no problem for someone who is fit and healthy. It was a very comfortable flat and we would definately recommend it unless you have a mobility problem and the stairs would be a problem.

"The boiler had been turned down so there was no hot water when we arrived."
Once we turned it up it was fine. The WiFi was unusably slow, we just used 4G.

"This was the 3 rd time we have stayed here and as ever we had a lovely stay but we thought the flat wants a bit of TLC as it’s looking very tired ,the cushions on the settee are so flat more like a digestive biscuit and such a small tv for the size of the room ,in looking through the visitors book many have said the same thing going back a few years ."
A big plus is that it was always lovely and warm nice to arrive after a long cold walk .

"Great location in the most vibrant town in Lake District"

"Product description of "Modern, well equipped."
." was not met. This is not a modern apartment (it's in an old property, and many of the interior fittings are clearly years old). It's not well equipped for a 4-person rental as there were only 3 teaspoons, 3 cups and saucers, 3 large glasses etc. It had clearly only had a superficial clean as the bathroom floor had a visible layer of dust and towel lint behind the door and along that wall, there was dust on the furniture in the main bedroom. The bathroom pull cord was disgustingly soiled (and had been complained about by a previous tenant), the venetian blind in the hall was buckled, the fridge door would no longer close properly, the lounge carpet needed shampooing etc. (I have photos of these items if you wish to see them.) Clearly, there had not been a thorough inspection of the property for a considerable time. And my trust in Sykes property descriptions and ratings has been lost.

"Helvellyn is a really nice cottage, ideal for walkers."
The mountain paths are very close and if you want to climb Skiddaw, it is an ideal location. The maintenance could be a little better. (Some of the kitchen utensils are really old).

"Once again a great stay in the flat in Helvellyn street."
-
"The views are amazing and thank you for organising such amazing weather."
-
"The lounge furniture could do with a clean and only 1 loo roll per loo was a bit mean."
Location fantastic beds comfortable and standard generally very high.
-
"This was a lovely, light, airy second floor flat, with 2 bathrooms, very close to town and the facilities."
The beds were very comfortable and the showers great. Kitchen well equipped. In case of fire, we would have preferred a Yale lock/thumb turn lock on the main doors, rather than needing a key to get out. Otherwise, everything was good. We especially loved the views of the fells and spectacular sunsets.

"If you are looking for a cosy, smart, comfort apartment in the centre of Keswick, then this is the one!"
!! Ideal for singles or couples.
-
"Four adult but only one key ment we had to follow each other around"
-
"Very impressed with the apartment."
Lovely, light and spacious. Can't fault the location for being so close to Keswick. No need to use the car. The apartment has wi-fi, so we were happy.
-
"The property was perfectly located."
Keswick is a must - such a beautiful place.
-
"Accommodation was of very high quality, great location & very clean."
-
"Great position for nearness to Keswick centre and views of mountains."
-
"Location, location, I think the apartment was everything it promised, just one concern in the bedroom with the en-suite bathroom there isn't a wardrobe, but there is a large standing mirror , if this mirror and its stand could be removed and replaced with a double wardrobe with a mirror on the wardrobe door that would allow room for hanging and storing your clothes."
Other than that our stay was most enjoyable and we look forward to visiting again.

"Apartment was in a perfect location, only minutes from the main street and restaurants."
Property was very clean with all the amenities we required. Process for booking was simple
-
"Brilliant apartment we had a great time here very central for the town,."
.Found the parking up the street not as bad as made to believe more of a problem at the weekend but all in all we managed to park the car just up from the apartment.we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the lakes as we love Keswick and it’s so handy for all the lovely walks around without having to use the car as the buses are very good .All in all a great holiday we will be back!

However the flat had a great home like feel to it, was a great price and the location is as good as it gets The Flat however does need freshening up and the beds were uncomfortable
-
"The apartment was comfortable and very conveniently located, only minutes to shops, restaurants, pubs etc."
Friendly staff in the office re collection and return of keys.
-
"The mattress were very hard, I realise this is personal preference."
The oven requires some attention seal has gone around the door so did not heat up very well. We were a party of 4 two couples it would be better if there had been another comfy chair to relax in the lounge area. The location of the apartment was very central making it ideal to access most of the attractions in the town on foot. The decore was of a high standard.
-
"Flat warm and well equipped."
Would not stay there again because of the following. although we were aware that property was a second floor flat there was too many stairs for us, even inside flat, 38 in all. The overall cleanliness was very good except for the oven which was very greasy around the door and under the controls which in turn had symbols which had worn away. It was trial and error to gauge the right setting. Could not get extractor fan above oven to work. The beds are too small and finally the widows in sitting room and bedrooms could really do with blinds or nets for privacy. the flat may be high up but so are the properties facing
-
"Perfect location, very clean well equipped modern property."
Only slight niggle, didn't sleep well, cheap flat pillows, king size beds beds or 4 singles, would be better., however wouldn't put us off renting again, the apartment is beautiful.
-
"The best thing about this property is its location as it is just a 3 minute walk into central Keswick."
Most self catering properties rented previously have supplied a few essentials on arrival. We arrived late after shops had closed. There was nothing in the flat - not even salt or milk and so everything needed to be bought. When paying over £300 for the property it seems as if little thought given to guests needs and simply a little tight. Not a great first impression.
-
"Overall very happy."
Only a couple of minor points. The bathroom fans are extremely noisy and take some time to switch off. If your using the ensuite toilet it can take a while to get back to sleep. We eventually switched it off once we realised there was a button. May be worth hilighting this as an option. Only other thing was the pillows. I personally felt they needed changed as too flat. Otherwise loved the flat, especially the kitchen. Lovely and clean and fantastic views of the mountains. Definitely recommend.

"Lovely clean apartment, well equipped with everything you would need on a self catering family holiday."
Our arrival was straight forward and the location of the office to collect keys was perfect. Lovely friendly staff available to help with any problems. The Location of the apartment was perfect 2 minute walk to everything Keswick has to offer. Myself 40+, 7 year old daughter and 60+ parents all enjoyed our stay equally as there is so much to do and the walks around the Lake very accessible to all. The restaurants and pubs offered great food, drink and a wonderful warm and welcoming atmosphere. The parks are beautiful and boating activities on the Lake was a highlight. Keswick is a great place and will definitely be booking again.

"Good location."
Just a few minutes walk to the town. Clean and comfortable. Parking is on street car park. Therefore, first come first served basis but we didn't have any issue as we came back early afternoon everyday. It could get busy if you come back late though. We were a bit confused when we were looking for the flat after receiving the key as there are the same house numbers with letters as well. The house number on the confirmation e-mail was without any letters but it was actually house number with letter B. We were given only one set of keys but later we found out we could get two sets upon request. Just a small suggestion for improvement. If hooks are fixed on doors for hanging towels etc that'd be appreciated.

"This was a good quality flat in a great location and overall we were pleased with it."
However, the flat was not sparkling clean on our arrival, I am not sure when someone had last been in but there was massive cobwebs in the kitchen. I had cause to complain about the toilet which did not work properly for 5 of the 7 days and I had specifically chosen somewhere with two toilets. The place needs some hooks to hang coats and towels on and an airer to dry clothes. This could be an amazing place to stay with a bit of attention to detail. I do expect some form of compensation for being without two toilets for 5 out of 7 days of my stay.
-
"The apartment was in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk from the town square and was easy to locate on our arrival."
Was clean on our arrival. Instructions for using the shower informed us to use the extractor fans in the bathrooms whenever the showers are in use to avoid "accidental activation of the smoke alarms" however the fan in the family bathroom was not working. The toilet in the en suite bathroom had a problem with the flush which was mentioned in the comments book and the quilt cover and pillow cases in the second bedroom were very badly worn out to a point where they had holes in them. These problems were all pointed out to the staff in the office who stated she would get onto the owner. These aside the apartment was lovely and quiet, light and airy and parking was not a problem on the road outside. The facilities it provides are more than enough and we would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

"Great place in a fantastic location."
-
"Lovely light and spacious apartment for four, just a short walk from the town centre."
-
"The flat was great and within walking distance to the town and near the bus stop"
-
"The only things I would change would be a bigger TV in the living room, TV's in each bedroom, queen/king sized beds and blackout curtains in the bedrooms as it was really light in the mornings."
Those things wouldn't stop me returning, but would make the stay more comfortable. Lovely apartment, lovely location, very handy for the town centre.
