"Excellent location with it's very own private parking space."
Did not need to use the car at all as everything was so close. Very well equipped, smart apartment (really appreciated the board games) and all on one level so ideal for us with a 2 year old. The only issue was with the bath/shower. Very difficult to get into/out off with the steps (would not suit anyone with mobility issues) and also low water pressure so it took ages to fill the bath. Overall I would really recommend this apartment.

"Lovely stay, again."
Excellent location and facilities but a shame about how complicated it is to work the TV, a Firestick would make it so much easier.

"Loved our stay at Keswick loft!"
First and foremost, prepare to be get over initial impressions when you turn into the rear car park. Yes it doesn’t look great, it smells a bit and the parking arrangements feel rather oppressive… Keep going, it is worth it! The parking space is at the bottom of the metal steps in case you are struggling to locate. Fast forward 20 minutes to after you have parked and unpacked your vehicle… The accommodation is fantastic! The location is superb. Warm, comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. The bathroom is palatial! The bath simply divine! Keswick loft is a wonderful place with everything you could wish for within minutes from the front door. The fish & chips on the square had melt in the mouth brilliance!!! Overall, a thoroughly fantastic stay! Highly recommend. Will definitely book here when next staying in Keswick.

"Perfect location in the heart of Keswick and so close to all the amenities."
The Loft had everything you could need for a perfect Lake District getaway, even a thermos flask for cooler days out and about. A great information pack is provided with tips for eating and drinking, some great recommendations, I would add The Royal Oak, their Sunday lunch is fantastic. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to be back again. Thank you for a great week.

"Wonderful location!"
Great accommodations .. very spacious! Comfortable bedding! Would highly recommended!

"Shower curtain soiled."
Please replace or wash. Rugs in bedrooms not nice or clean given pets use the property. We moved these. Dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid was helpful. Handsoap for the bathroom would have been a nice addition. A welcome pack of teabags and coffee would have been kind for guests Flat location was great for visiting Keswick. Curtains did not block out light and little sound insulation from street noise so disturbed sleep from local businesses. Can imagine in summer this would be more of an issue. Quite expensive considering all above
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to read of the issues you found. Unfortunately, as we weren't aware of this during your stay we were unable to attend and resolve them for you. It is possible you may have missed this but there are blackout blinds on the curtains. As the property is in the town centre, while the location is great, this does mean that sometimes noise levels are sometimes increased. As this is a self catering accommodation we do not provide a welcome pack or cleaning products as standard, though guests do sometimes leave them behind. We are glad that you found the location great for visiting Keswick. Lakelovers Owner Team Property Owner

"Really enjoyed another stay, glad there is now a handrail for easier access to the bath/shower."
-
"Excellent flat with a superb location , wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family"
-
"Fantastic flat ideally situated, the only negative point was both plugs in the bathroom didn't work"
Thank you for you review following your stay at Keswick Loft, we have taken this opportunity to check both the sink and bath plugs and also the electric shaver point we have NOT found any fault and all are in full working order we have therefore concluded that there is actually no fault and this is down to user error. "Good location and spacious & stylish accommodation."
We will certainly be considering returning later in the year. Can't understand other visitors 'picky' criticisms at all. This is a shame if it has put other prospective visitors off.

"When we arrived we were unable to get our car(Vauxhall Corsa) over the bollard."
It was caught on the underside. Therefore we were told to find street parking. We are 89 and 84 and found this very difficult having to search for a parking place. Not at all what we wanted. We couldn’t understand why we weren’t offered another space with different bollard. On our departure it was particularly difficult having to walk a long distance to get car then nowhere to put car when we were going up and down fire escape stairs. Then having to carry all our things right across car park.we had planned to pop things in the car the day before each time we went out.
Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Customer feedback is very important to help us continually improve our standards. I can confirm that the management company did look into the bollard as it should not catch on cars and it measured at 11cm when in the downward position. The management company have now made adjustments to the bollard. We are sorry that this caused you inconvenience but are glad that our team was able to assist you on arrival. "Brilliant location right in the centre of Keswick."
Property had plenty of daytime living space. Although it had a limited number of windows and being in the middle of town you were still awarded with views towards Skiddaw to the north. Beds were comfortable although bedrooms were a little on the small side. Kitchen had everything you needed. The bathroom does need some attention as other reviewers have reported. Getting in and out of the bath for a shower could prove to be a bit risky due to the height of the bath. I think some fixed steps up to the bath and a handrail is needed. Toilet roll holder was loose. The electric kitchen bin was broken and didn't have any batteries in it. Fridge door hindge needs some attention due to grinding noise unless you lifted it as you closed it. A long handled sweeping brush would have been handy. The corridor leading out from the front door was filthy and had not been cleaned or swept. One of the PS4 controller docking stations was broken and the response from the remote control for the apps was a bit frustrating. The allocated car parking space wasn't obvious when we arrived. Needs a photo or better description on the property information. Extractor fans from the restaurant downstairs and the hotel next door were a bit noisy from in the bedrooms until about 11pm. Some banging noises were heard in the loft when it was windy for a couple of nights. Not sure of the two upside down electric sockets in one of the alcoves. Just having two three pin holes in the plaster whether this is okay or not. We would however, rent the place again purely on its location despite some little niggles as generally the property was ideal and served our needs for the week.
Dear Paul Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We are very glad that you liked the property and its location in the centre of town! Since your review, and others, we are putting a grab rail and some bath steps into the bathroom to make it easier for guests to get in and out of the bath. The toilet roll holder has been secured again, and the broken bin has now been replaced with an under-sink one. We have also checked the PS4 controllers and they do seem to be working OK. The property also recently passed its electrical check so there are definitely no safety issues. We do intend to put up a sign for the parking space in the near future- thanks for pointing this issue out. Regarding the corridor, it is currently being redecorated and we apologise for any dirt or dust as a consequence of this. Since your visit we have been to the property ourselves and cleaned the corridor and stairs, and the building management company will ensure that regular corridor cleans take place going forward. With regard to any local noise- apologies for any disturbance, however you'll appreciate of course that the property is in the town centre and the local businesses do stay open until around 11pm. Thanks again for your comprehensive feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Carol & Andy (owners of Keswick Loft) Property Owner

"Fabulous stay however, although we managed the height of the bath and shower I feel it could be a problem to a lot of people."
Real bonus having the car parking space, all facilities super and location was great.
-
"The loft apartment was lovely but the main bedroom smelled musky."
The bedding and pillows all smelled not very nice. For the money we paid I would expect better
Dear Garry Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We do take this seriously. The bed linen and towels are of course freshly laundered for every new guest, and the property checked by Lakes Cottages prior to each changeover. However, we have asked the cleaner to double check the pillows and duvet in the master bedroom with a view to addressing any issue as necessary. Property Owner

"I should write a poor review to discourage others from staying here :-) But I won't."
The property is excellent. It is right in the centre of Keswick, 50 metres from the Moot Hall, and made the perfect base for a perfect week of cold, clear, still, winter weather. Long days on the hill. Great to return to such luxurious accomodation - the shower is amazing and it's worth taking the time to run a bath at least one evening. And then out to the surprisingly lively (for December) pubs and restaurants of the town on your doorstep. Thank you Andy & Caroline.

"Excellent stay have booked again"
-
"Beautiful spacious apartment, A little difficult to find initially."
It was very comfortable. I could of done to have a slightly higher step to get in the bath when taking a shower being only 5'7" as the bath is very deep sided. Very close to amenities. Loved it and would stay again.
-
"Dirty pots knives forks and spoons, condenser in the tumble dryer filthy so we took it out and cleaned it to prevent it over heating when we used it, hoover full, pop bottle and hair bobble under bed, dirty skirting boards, broken sofa."
On the plus side ideal location, close to all amenities, plenty of information and games for kids. We think the cleaner is letting your lovely property and letting you down.
Dear Tracey, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, and we are glad that you appreciated the information and games, as well as the convenient location of Keswick Loft close to the town centre. We have discussed your comments with the agency who arrange the cleaning, and also booked a deep clean to ensure that the standard of cleanliness is as expected for our future guests. In addition, we will be scheduling a deep clean more frequently throughout the summer in future. Keswick Loft is a very popular property with a lot of bookings during the summer period, which means that sometimes a some extra cleaning is needed. Many thanks, Carol & Andy (owners of Keswick Loft) Property Owner

We loved Keswick loft— it’s smack bang in the middle of Keswick & we had our own car space—“ Happy days”❤️—The apartment was large, clean, warm & comfy beds,,Great to come back to after a days walking followed by food & beer of course—Everything was around our location—restaurants,(several different types) shops, pubs & the lake not too far away as well as great hill walks—We will definitely be coming back again—The only thing I would say about the place is,, (and it’s not a negative point)—if you don’t like stairs & you want a pretty view, this might not be for you— For us though,, it was Just what we Wanted— Fantastik

"Excellent accommodation in the centre of Keswick with parking space provided."
All equipment in the apartment of a very high standard. Very spacious. Would recommend and we will certainly come again.
-
"Great location."
Comfortable. Would go back

"Great property in a great location with car parking…perfect!"
A few minor improvements: - welcome basket would have been nice..often the norm. - very strong bleach smell on arrival. Had to open all windows for a few hour…I guess that it proved that it was well cleaned! - bath is very high, even with the small step. My parent would have really struggle to get in. Bigger step with a handle would be needed for older people
Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Keswick Loft. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. As you suggested, we have now provided a higher step to enable easier access to the bath and also to the higher kitchen shelves. Many thanks Andy & Carol Gilroy (Owners) Property Owner

"This was the second time we had rented Keswick Loft, and as far as we are concerned there is nothing that could be improved."
The only downside was the huge number of people in this area of Cumbria, presumably because of the curtailment of foreign travel.
-
"Excellent apartment, great location in the centre of town."
Would highly recommend it.
-
"A really well positioned apartment, with everything we needed."
Much bigger than the photos looked. Clean and well equipped. Marked down comfort due to beds being of average comfort and cheap duvets. Marked down facilities due to very high climb into fantastic bath/shower (could do with sturdier steps) and metal stairway to car park. Apartment totally pet friendly, but description needs to warn visitors of metal stairway that isn’t too great for dogs. Play station doubles as DVD player and is showing signs of age (controllers unresponsive and erratic)
Hi Sharon, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Keswick Loft. We are sorry that you were not comfortable in the beds - we have tried to make them as comfortable as possible, with Egyptian cotton high-thread-count linen and memory foam mattress toppers, but understand these may not be to everyones liking. As you suggested, we have now provided high sturdy steps for easier access to the bath. Regarding the Playstation controllers, these do occasionally need to be charged, so this may be why you found them unresponsive. We have charged and checked them recently and they are working fine. Many thanks Andy and Carol Gilroy (Owners) Property Owner

"Keswick Loft is in general a lovely spacious apartment in the very centre of town which makes it easily accessible to everything Keswick has to offer."
The beds were the most comfortable I have slept in, and I have made a note of the make of them so that I can get one when my own needs replacing! However, the standard of cleanliness left a lot to be desired, the kitchen was quite grubby and the cupboard doors, though high gloss, we’re dull with grease. The grout in the tiles in the bathroom were so dirty with grime that I ended up buying a bottle of bleach and cleaning them myself. The communal area in the building was also dark and dirty, with threadbare carpet, which did not give a great first impression. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but it could have been better.

"We had a wonderful holiday, only made possible by the convenience and comfort of this very spacious property."
Would recommend without hesitation.

"Keswick Loft was absolutely perfect."
When we arrived the ladies in the Holiday Cottage shop where we collected the key couldn't have been more helpful. One even walked across the road and showed us where to park! Having an allocated parking space just at the foot of the stairs to the flat is worth a lot - so convenient - although parking in Keswick wouldn't be a problem anyway, judging by the car parks we saw! The flat is literally about 100 meters from the pedestrian area in the centre of Keswick, and one of the best features is the excellent Thai Restaurant only about 100 meters in the opposite direction. Living as we do in rural Norfolk it was a real treat to be so close to shops, coffee houses and restaurants - we had a lovely holiday and we'll definitely be back next year. John Fearnley.

"Great location, right in the centre of town."
Complete with a car space (which are at a premium) Large apartment, comfy beds nice and warm. Super clean you would never know animals were allowed. On a windy night the bathroom windows did rattle a bit, but soon fixed with a couple of wedges
-
"Well maintained apartment in excellent location, parking is easy and really convenient"
-
"Great location and excellent facilities, it has everything you need and the big bath was nice for a relaxing soak after a long day."
.. and the ladies in the office were very helpfulm too. Work needs to be done on the entrances both front and back , but you/they already know about that. Recommend adjusting the light sensor at the rear entrance as it only ever triggered when we were already trying to struggle opening the door and I could only trigger it by waving arms at it, as Im tall enough... Only other issue we had was that the power tripped off twice and needed resetting by clambering up on top of the fridge...and despite all the arguments you can smell curry.............. but I'd certainly recommend Keswick Loft to anybody wanting to stay in Keswick.
-
"The location is absolutely on point."
Parking was also good. Being able to step outside straight in the bustle of Keswick was excellent. We had an excellent holiday. The loft was exactly what was advertised. The bed was clean and very comfortable, kitchen was also very well equipped. We would definitely recommend and use Keswick loft again

"We really enjoyed our stay."
There wasn't anything we could fault in the whole experience. From picking the keys up to dropping them back off (within about 100m from the property) we enjoyed every second. Thank you for providing absolutely everything we could have needed. We will see you again soon
-
"The instructions to find the place to pick up the keys could be more explicit as I first went to another place called lake something - half way down a road you don’t know is not enough!"
In addition the first night we parked in someone’s parking space because the parking space we should have parked in was hidden by bins - could the spaces be numbered to help prevent this in future ?
-
"We had a super time, and the apartment was a great space for us to live in."
We stayed in this apartment last year and my daughters couldn’t wait to use the ‘BIG bath’ again! The only room for improvement, a better vegetable peeler, scales that work, and skirting board outside bathroom to be fixed but that’s just me be really picky!
-
"We had a lovely week staying with our dog."
The flat is in a great location and is so handy for the local amenities. Although the flat does not have a garden it is between two fantastic parks that are only a 5 minute walk away. We really enjoyed our stay.
-
"We were very pleased with our rental in Keswick, UK."
It was clean, modern, stylish, and well appointed. It had a number of special touches that really made it stand out. We are hoping to return and rent the same apartment.
-
"The property is located adjacent to / upstairs from a busy hotel and an Indian restaurant."
There were extractor fans running from 7am until midnight. We found the noise very intrusive, and were not able to open windows because of both the noise and the kitchen smells. We appreciate that others may not consider this to be a problem, but, for us, it did take away some of the enjoyment of a lovely and comfortable property. We certainly would not return to this particular property.
-
"We had a great break in the loft."
It was really windy on the Saturday night and there seems to be something in the loft or roof that bangs that did keep us awake...... apart from that we loved it. The reviews said it was cold and that the heating didn't work, we did not find this to be true. We had no problem at all. The entrance in to the loft wasn't as bad as the reviews said, it's an old building and is what it is!!!! No problem there either! It's location is fabulous and with parking too what more could you want. We will return if the price is right. Natalie

"Great apartment in a nice central location, it doesn't look much from the outside but superb inside, very comfortable, warm and well equipped."
Parking space is a bonus in Keswick. We all had a great week. The ladies in the office were very helpful with the keys etc, some great places to eat and have coffees etc.
-
"This apartment was fantastically located, lovely and spacious, and offered great facilities."
The only niggle was that it could have done with a little more attention spent to the overall clean...for example, the skirting boards were very dusty, a few stains on the bedroom carpets, the silicone in the bathroom! The entrances are not very pleasant either and really need some attention giving to them especially as they are then topped off with a strange smell. We did see a note though saying the entrances were being renovated some hopefully this is true. However, the apartment suited us perfectly in terms of what we were looking for, the beds were super comfy and the overall comfort of this apartment was great. We would certainly book it again. It could be ‘almost’ perfect if the owners addressed the above.

"We’ve used the same Keswick flat - Keswick Loft - for 5 years."
We’re only changing accommodation because we’re bringing more friends with us next time to enjoy the convention and Keswick. Yes, we are using the same company for our new booking, you have been and are really good to work with. Thank you.
