"Lovely property in great location."
I love being able to pick amount of days too as opposed to being fixed. Very comfortable house. Roadside parking available but it gets busy so we parked in long stay which was 10 min walk. Would recommend the property

"We loved the house and the location!"
-
"Sefton House is a lovely property, and I highly recommend it."
We went away with another couple, and they found their bedroom on the first floor extremely comfortable. We were less comfortable in the second floor double, but that may be down to personal preference. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

"We are frequent visitors to Keswick and have stayed in many houses, very much doubt if we would stay in Sefton House again, although the house is clean and tidy there is a very off putting smell of damp when entering so much so I could smell it upstairs on the 3rd floor, it disturbed my sleep."
We did enjoy our stay however, the upstairs of the house is lovely .
Many thanks for your comment and we are glad that, overall, you enjoyed your stay. Our sincere apologies for the issue you mentioned. Housekeeping and maintenance have investigated and they now believe the problem was due to the use of an ageing mop on the tiled floor entrance. We have asked for this to be rectified immediately. Kind regards. Sefton House. Property Owner

"Well-situated in Keswick."
Didn’t move the car all week. House is nice and comfortable and well-equipped.

"Sefton house is an ideal family home for a holiday in Keswick."
We really appreciated the large dinning room to have meals together. Twin bedrooms were roomy with comfortable furnishings. Two bathrooms are ideal for two families. The only downsides was not having a washing machine. Although we knew that when we booked it. Our experience this week with young kids who were getting wet with weather or down the lake, had made me realise it would have been nice to have had washing facilities. Upper floor gets hot on hot days. Maybe a portable air conditioner could be considered. The duvet covers, mattress protectors and some of the pillows were stained. This was noticed on stripping the beds at the end of the week. There was also some rubbish under one of the beds that had not been cleaned properly. These aspects would not stop us from booking the house again. We had a wonderful holiday, grateful to have had the pleasure to stay in such a comfortable home in beautiful surroundings.

"Fantastic property."
Had everything that we needed. Appreciated that there was lots of crockery and glasses. Very clean and comfortable. If you could improve anything it would be to add blinds to the bedroom windows (especially double rooms). As it is summer it was light very early and the curtains did not block out any of the light.

"This house was lovely."
Perfect for two families on holiday in the area together. The only thing we would’ve appreciated was a washing machine.
-
"The house is bright, spacious and well laid out."
We were very comfy in the living spaces and thought the bedrooms were well laid out and attractively set up. The kitchen is well supplied and we particularly enjoyed using the large dining table for family dinners and games. The shared bathroom is really pleasant and has a great shower. However we found quite a few of the pillows were very used and flat and the mattresses rather lumpy (twin bedroom in particular)
Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at our property. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your overall experience, I will pass the comments about the beds and mattresses onto the owner and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

"Lovely, classic Lakeland property."
Immaculately clean and well maintained, comfortable beds, spacious enough living and dining room for 8, lovely clean bedrooms, small but lovely bathrooms with great showers. Location superb for accessing the centre of Keswick and surrounding areas. There was nothing about this cottage that we could speak negatively about - would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you to the owners

"Nice property and fitted our needs to attend a wedding on the second night."
We had a great time, 7 of us and would recommend this property.
-
"For our family group - 6 adults and two children Sefton House was pretty much perfect."
The sleeping accommodation was just right for us as we're the bathrooms. The kitchen and dining room worked well for our cosy breakfasts and family dinners. The living room was just right for relaxing and sitting around. WiFi worked well as did central heating and hot water. All really good, thank you. Martin

"Great house in prime location."
Only negatives is the beds were very hard and the family bathroom shower wasn’t very powerful.
-
"Everyone in our multi generation family group enjoyed and appreciated the accommodation at Sefton House."
The house was very clean and useable, and well situated, within a short walk of the town centre.
-
"Ideal location to amble into shops and the many local pubs and restaurants."
Spacious, very clean and comfy accomodation tastefully decorated. Kitchen and dining area well appointed with equipment for cooking for 8. We were walkers so possibly a longer drip tray and more hooks might be useful for wet coats and putting muddy boots. Will save messing up the beautiful decor. We did have a week of rain so the comfy and warm accomodation was lovely to come home too. All in all a brilliant to stay.

"All good in the public areas just found the twin and bunk beds a little short ..."
All good in the public areas just found the twin and bunk beds a little short for 6ft adults Lounge very comfortable and dinning room large Kitchen great for cooking a full meal The heating struggled to keep the house warm and the convector in the lounge agitates the light shade making it rattle All in all good value

"My friend and I stayed in Sefton House for a week with our four boys aged 4,4, 8 and 9."
We had a brilliant week. We walked around Derwent waters and paddled in the Lake, caught the ferry. Visited Rydal Caves and went for a wild swim at the waterfall near Stonethwaite. Climbed Catbells and finished the week by exploring Derwent Waters on a Canoe Raft. The Cottage was really clean. Bigger than I expected and there were lots of nice little touches to make it feel like home, like the blankets in the living room and the cloud wall paper in the boys bedroom and night lights by the bunk beds. The photos don’t do it justice. I worried about parking as we had two cars but we always managed to find a space close by and I also worried we might struggle without a washing machine with four boys. But we somehow managed. A really well stocked kitchen with plenty of bowels, plates and mugs and lots of decent sharp knives. I would definitely book again.

"Great holiday home, highly recommended."
Comfy beds, nice shower, very clean. The only thing missing is a washing machine but we did ok without.
-
"This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Sefton house."
It is a really nicely presented property with everything you might need. The beds are comfy (and nice that they have been updated since we last stayed so not squeaky!) Everything was as we had hoped (the only niggle was the oven didnt work. Had to use the top part of the oven which is usually a grill. And the shower door kept sticking. Also the tiny sink in the ensuite and tiles behind it needed a good clean.) But we really enjoyed our stay and would book again!

"A brilliant place to stay!"
The house had everything you could want/need & more! The only reason I have marked down slightly for the accuracy of listing is that I don't think the photos do it justice - particularly the dinning room, it is actually a lot bigger than the photo would suggest. The only issue we had when we were there is we had the back door open on one of the days & lots of flys came into the house which we then struggled to get rid of, purchased fly spray in the end & left it in case anyone else has any issues.

"Lovely property, I really enjoyed spending time there with my guests and would certainly use again :)"
-
"Sefton house was fabulous."
Brilliant location for a quick walk into Keswick, easy on street parking and a fully equipped kitchen. You could access plenty of walks without moving your car. The only thing missing is a washing machine. Yes the laundrette is literally 2 mins away but the last thing you want to do after a day on the fells is to go back out and sit in a laundrette. This is probably the only reason we wouldn't use this house again.
-
"What a perfect to place to stay, immaculately clean, comfortable, convenient and all the amneties you could need in the kitchen and around the house."
Couldn't fault it at all would definately stay again.
-
"Beautiful large old cottage."
Close to centre. Well equipped kitchen. Good strength shower even on second floor. Heating was on a timer and was controlled remotely. Unfortunately heating was not adequate for this size of property during a cold February when we stayed. If it hadn’t been for the heating we would have given top marks on everything.
-
"Great location and lovely house."
We stayed at Christmas and it would have been great to have a Christmas tree or other decorations up. That said otherwise can’t fault house. Keswick is stunningly beautiful-sat on the edge of the lake and surrounded by high peaks. Also great for outdoor gear shopping.
-
"It would be useful to have a downstairs toilet."
The door handles on all internal doors need attention or replacing.
-
"We had a lovely two week stay in Sefton House."
The house was comfortable and spacious and adequately equipped. As stated there is no washing machine but the launderette is only a 2 minute walk away. The house is situated on a quiet street only a short walk from the top of Keswick town. Parking is in high demand and sometimes we had to park a short distance away but we always managed to find a space so this was not really an issue. It was an ideal location to base ourselves. Keswick is a delightful, bustling town with plenty of places to eat and drink, 2 supermarkets and of course Derwentwater all in easy walking distance. We would happily return and book this property again.
-
"The location is fantastic & the house was stunning, best holiday home I’ve used in years."
-
"Tv didn’t work properly and no washing machine which in an outdoor location is puzzling"
We are sorry you had a problem with the television whilst on holiday, we would have gladly shown you how to use it, or rectify any problems if you had called through to the local office. There is a launderette a short walk away and we have detailed where to obtain a service wash in Keswick. We would love to welcome you back to our house in the future and hope that you enjoyed your stay in Keswick. Property Owner

"The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything that we needed for a great self catered weekend in Keswick."
The location was perfect and I will definitely be returning in the future.
-
"This was a nice house, comfortable and plenty of space and ideally located for the town centre and the Lakes in general."
The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The bathrooms and en-suite shower were good, water hot and at good pressure. As mentioned in previous reviews the lack of a washing machine was a disappointment and we would have preferred one in place of the dishwasher. The back door and lock needs looking at as it can be difficult to open sometimes. Overall a good place to stay.

"Sefton House was a perfect base for a lovely family holiday in Keswick."
The House was immaculate with everything you would need for a staycation. Keswick is a beautiful town with lots of things to do and Sefton House is located within 3 minutes of the Main Street where there is an abundance of shops, cafe's and restaurants. I highly recommend Lakes Cottage Holidays as the service we received from start to finish was first class.

"Need some blankets available please"
-
"The property clean and comfortable plenty of utensils etc In the kitchen (you could do with adding a tin opener) ."
With 3 young children the lack of washing machine was a issue for us although the launderette was close by. The other downside was the parking sometimes we had to park a couple of streets away.
-
"I was really impressed with the facilities in the house, and the decor."
It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay
-
"Perfect for what we were looking for and great location."
-
"A great house we shared with friends, 10mins to the high street where there’s plenty of places to eat."
Lots of walks around and in Keswick .Could be difficult to-get a parking space.
