  • "The booking confirmation advised linen and towels are provided but when we arrived there was no towels."

We had to go out of our way to visit the office just in time before it closed to ask for towels My son took his hoover as he always does and vacuumed the whole apartment, he had to empty the hoover 3 times each time was full of dust and muck The apartment was ok, but very noisy, the shop below had music blasting early on a morning and kept waking he up

Perfect location for us. Spacious apartment convenient for shops and pubs. Some noise from delivery vans on morning but to be expected and not a problem as who goes to lakes to lie in. Very comfy beds. (Would be nice to see fresh bedding next time and inside windows could do with a good clean. )

  • "Bedding was dirty with urine stains on the duvet."

Oven filthy and so too were the oven pots. Greasy and unwashed. Inside oven was dirty. Large rug in lounge had rice in it. Clearly not been hoovered. Toilet dirty and very smelly. I had to dislodge crap from the top side of the toilet bowl with a rubber glove and an old cloth which I had. Clearly the previous tenants had made no attempt to clean after themselves. That said there were no cleaning products available to me to use. Dishwasher tablets (no dishwasher at this premises). Impossible to clean an oven with fairy liquid. Needs a deep clean. To me covid cleaning should equal infection prevention and control! That said, on a positive note its' location to all amenities in town was excellent.

Really disappointed to receive this review as the owners have been totally let down by the cleaning company and these comments are uncommon with this property. All bedding was immediately replaced by the owners who had not been notified of any issues. Property Owner

  • "This place was great, right slap bang in the middle of keswick, so close to everything including a shop beneath us."

The location was mostly quiet except a few late night revellers but we didn’t mind. The overall cleanliness of the place was okay but things definitely needed a deep clean for example the cooker top and utilities as some surfaces felt quiet grimey. we loved the space and it had everything we needed such a as a washer etc and drying racks which was great, as after a long day hiking we needed to wash our clothes. there was also a couple tea bags and biscuits left for us which were comforting when we arrived. some feedback, not keen on the 9am check out especially when check in is at 4:00pm! i have been a cleaner and housekeeper and definitely think during a trip in which most days were out busy hiking that the check out should be at least 10 as a place should not need a 7 hour turn around. our relative was picking up our luggage and we were slightly late out but we couldn’t wait anywhere else with our luggage. overall it was a brilliant place to stay and sykes allowed us to pay off the accommodation when we wanted, however i do think that finding reviews for the place , and the listing of amenities needs updating. we were sent a list of things to bring and an oven glove was part of the list, however when we arrived there was one there? and also like a hair dryer and iron being included wasnt on the list, so we brought them with us which led us to carrying more stuff than we needed.

  • "Property was nice and spacious however very noisy."

The windows in both bedrooms rattled when it was windy and kept us awake. The shop underneath was also noisy with switching alarm off every morning at 7.15 and also then playing music loud for the shop. I know there is nothing that can be done about the shop however the windows in the property was the main problem. We also had to call out for assistance as on the second day the heat stopped working and there was no hot water.

  • "Well placed property, all local amenities within walking distance, furnished to expected levels."

Only consideration is as the property is above a convenience store there are the occasional early morning deliveries. Would happily stay here again.

  • "Spacious and overall comfortable but some of the kitchen equipment need’s updating."

The flat is ideally situated at the top of the town with restaurants and bars directly across the street and next door. The pizza place directly opposite must be good. Although we didn’t eat there it was full every night right up to closing time. The shop below aptly named open all hours was useful for heavier items you don’t want to carry from booths or the co- op

Property much better than we expected. Located in the centre of town was perfect for us, one group member not able to walk too far at the moment. Fridge door could do with a rethink but that's the only negative I could come up with. Hope to be able to visit there again in the future.

  • "The property was exactly as described and therefore we were not disappointed upon arrival."

The key collection and car parking permit collection was quick and very easy. The use of a parking permit for the whole week was a welcome bonus, especially as it covered all of the main car parks in Keswick. We used the Central Car Park all week as it wears the closest to the apartment. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The location in the heart of the town enabled easy access to the amenities in Keswick, and a great base for exploring the local fells on foot. We had a wonderful week and would certainly recommend this property to anyone seeking to explore Keswick and the Lake District.

We have stayed in Summer and Winter and love this property. Great location (especially with the dogs, few minutes walk to the lakeside or Fitz Park), car parking space invaluable, comfy beds, airy well equipped apartment. Yes, there is some noise in the morning due to deliveries to the shops, but it's not unexpected considering the location. Cannot fault anything about our holiday (2 July) had glorious weather in fabulous Keswick. Will be returning.

  • "We really enjoyed our first holiday with Sykes in this flat."

The communication before we went was excellent as were the general directions, instructions etc. The flat was spacious and comfortable with every facility needed for the stay. The wifi, dishwasher and washing machine were a bonus and everything worked as it should except for the Playstation controller but that's minor (to me, tragic to our 9-year old!) anyway. We did dish wash the lovely wine glasses which unfortunately took the red colour off the stems, apologies for that but there was no warning that they weren't dishwasher safe. I would say the only small negatives are that parts of the flat (skirting boards, window frames) could be cleaner and the bathroom could do with updating and some TLC to the door. That didn't detract from how good it was, and what a convenient location it was is. Yes it's above a shop on a busy street but the noise was in no way intrusive, as stated by a previous reviewer who is clearly a pint half empty chap. So all in all a great flat, perfect for our needs and thanks very much!

  • "We had a great time in the Lakes."

Our first week we stayed in Siskin and then moved to St Johns view. We would pick Siskin over St Johns View every time. Whilst it was perfectly adequate, roomy and mostly had what we needed, St. John’s View seems somewhat neglected. It needs redecorating and some of the fittings need replacing.
