  • "We really loved the house and the layout of the rooms was perfect for us."

We felt that it would be a good idea if there was some provision to allow the drying of clothing/footwear, drying room, tumble dryer etc. also there were some loose/ungrouted tiles which seemed to have been causing damage to the dining room ceiling. The house is in a stunning location and overall we felt that we could not have found a better place to spend our celebratory week as a family. Thank you.

  • "The dower house is absolutely stunning."

Our whole party of eight raved about it from the moment we arrived. The location is tranquil and sublime and the attention to detail inside is beautiful. Had the best time. 10/10

  • "Beautiful location for a family of paddle boarders & 2 dogs."

The Dower house is a charming house for those looking for traditional home to stay in. The house is well stocked with every utensil you could require when staying at the property and there was a lovely welcome package on arrival even included the dogs.

  • "Beautiful area and settings, shame the house did not live up to Sykes photos."

All looking a bit tired and grubby. Lack of info on house could not find instructions on heating , central heating did not work properly only in 2-3 rooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would suggest a make over and a few more items in kitchen when a large party is staying. A very over rated expensive short stay rental

  • "I cannot recommend Dowager House highly enough."

From the moment we entered the property its warmth, character and sense of history charmed us, only to be equaled by its tasteful 21st century update. For a 3 generation family it had everything: views, log burning fire, state of the art kitchen and, teenagers’ favourites: games room and hot tubs! All this set in beautiful countryside, a stone’s throw away from a charming pub where we enjoyed a great meal one evening. We would love to return.

Thank you for your feedback and lovely comments. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the beautiful Dower House. We look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner
