  • "Great apartment, very comfortable it's a very good size, perfect for two people, Very well equipped with a great kitchen, everything you could need, bathroom was very nice with a good sized shower, bedroom was a great size with two windows, the bed was comfortable with a good duvet and pillows."

We had a very comfortable week in the apartment.

  • "This was a very comfortable first floor apartment close to the town centre with a supermarket next door so very convenient for topping up supplies."

Car parking was easy enough albeit in a public car park 200 yards away. However the owner can get you a permit for your stay so there is no cost involved. A really good base for a holiday, would definitely stay here again.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We do hope to see you again at some point. Property Owner

  • "Overall good."

Parking remains a problem. We took car out one day and could not get back into any of 3 carparks covered for 3 hours after our return. 2 minor issues with apartment. Toilet seat cracked. Kicking board falls down every time dishwasher door is opened.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this feedback. We will address the toilet seat and plinth as a matter of urgency. With regards to parking we are sorry you found this an issue but as you can imagine at the busiest times this can be a challenge and is not something we can guarantee however in all the years we have let the flat we have never had this issue. Apologies this may have affected your stay on this occasion. We do hope you come back and stay with us again at some point. Thanks. Property Owner

  • "Centrally located and well presented flat, great for older folks and others looking for a restful and enjoyable holiday."

One drawback is lack of a close-by parking space. But, the arrangement for parking was really helpful and much thanks is expressed to the local authorities for their generosity in this matter. My only plea would be precise sketch of the location of the entrance to the flat. Also the address is 8a Tithebarn Street but the number on the wall is 2, and the online map I was using had Tithebarn Street as Main Street. Apart from these minor matters of short duration whilst a stranger orientate themselves the whole week was super.

A lovely apartment, home from home. There could have been more toilet rolls ! And a welcome pack would have been good. Stripping the bed on departure ( as requested), well not sure about this one! But a great place and sure we will be back in the future.........

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay with everything you need for a comfortable break. No designated parking by apartment but managed to unload outside on arrival and park in Booth’s to load on departure. Whilst there roadworks outside but not too much of and issue. Main bus depot next door but again not excessively noisy. All round a lovely apartment to stay in. Shame about the weather so spent lots of time boosting the many pub’s economy!! Enjoyed so much we hope to return to stay again. Thank you to the owners.

  • "The apartment was very spacious and clean and the free parking permit is a real bonus in Keswick."

If I was being really picky the sofa probably could do with new covers and a fan for the bedroom would be a lifesaver - we were lucky to have very hot weather but Saturday nights in Keswick are surprisingly lively so noise is an issue if leaving windows open. Other to that would highly recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We will look into the fan as suggested, as you can imagine in the lakes we rarely have such hot weather, however this may be something we now need to accept as the norm. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "Had a brilliant stay at The Getaway and would definitely stay again/recommend to others."

Having stayed in many properties now in central Keswick, this tops my list! Fantastic central location, easy access to supermarkets, parking and the bus stop which I made use of with the £2 single ticket price cap! Having the parking permit with the flat was a godsend and a worry off your mind knowing you're covered for your stay. The flat had everything needed for a comfy stay and as someone who likes to self-cater, it had everything needed to do this. Thank you very much for the stay in your lovely property, I will be looking for availability again in the future!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We know how important our holidays are and we strive to provide everything we think you would need. We are delighted you found the Getaway to your liking and would be happy to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

Also couldn’t understand why we couldn’t access all freeview channels but that’s just a minor issue. Your already aware with issues with shower but completely useable, lovely comfy bed, property clean throughout and can’t wait to come back next year

Hi thank you so much for your feedback, we will look into the hoover, sorry it wasn’t working. Regarding the Freeview channels as this is not Freesat there are some channels that are not available, we may look to upgrade this in future. We are delighted you have rebooked and hope you enjoy your next stay as much as this one. Take care Property Owner

  • "Lovely, comfortable flat."

I knew it would be a busy road during the day, but it was quiet at night. I will aim to stay again next time I'm in Keswick. The location couldn't be better for the bus and for groceries. (The only improvement would be something in the shower to hold soap, shampoo, etc. There was nowhere else to put them but on the floor at your feet.)

As Dear Lorna. Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you needed to raise the issues to us. With regards to the shower we have noted this in the guests folder to make sure you are aware but elected to defer the repair until the end of the season. It does not leak but does feel a little weird when you walk on it. The sofa is quite hard, IKEA seem to provide firmer cushions and this may not be to everyone’s tastes, we have inspected them and they appear to be fine. I can only apologise for the dirty dishes and I have been assured this was an oversight by the cleaners and our agents, I have been assured this will be looked into with a view of preventing any further occurrences. Thanks again for you feedback, this is always useful in helping us improve our guests experiences. Kind regards. Property Owner
