  • "Great property and most amazing location!"

Only thing to change, although the bed is comfortable you can feel the spirals true the matrass. A matrass topper would improve the sleep quality to my opinion.

  • "Best ever break away!"

Peaceful, quiet surrounded by cows and sheep. Everything is just beautiful. The accomodation, the views the nature. I was able to get access immediately and felt completely at home there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone trying to leave the stress and commotion behind!

  • "Had a very enjoyable stay."

The welcome pack was 'Welcome' although perhaps a small bottle of milk could be added. The view was beautiful and the place was quiet. Although internet was intermittent if you want a getaway holiday then that is not important. It could usually be got outdoors of the cottage. The bed mattress could have been a bit thicker but not a deal breaker. A way of drying clothes at the cottage ie an airer or clothes line would be welcome. However we had a great week there and the fact we could use the facilities at the holiday park was great. We would like to visit again as we had a good week.

Thank you for your feedback, we will definitely take all your comments on board. Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful time staying at the hidden place, stayed for the Easter bank holiday and couldnt have asked for anything better."

The view is amazing and it’s so private, apart from the sheep that like to come say hello

Thank you for your great feedback, we are glad the sheep didn’t bother you too much. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Bed and living room furniture extremely uncomfortable."

No tv channels available. Poor quality picture from dvd player. I had to SCRUB your oven tray clean as someone just put a sheet of tin foil over old food spilled on it which resulted in the oven smoking when we used it. Poor quality and quantity of dishcloths and dish cleaning materials given. Asking for the crockery to be clean and stored away with the materials provided is a joke. The road entrance to the property requires attention with grass scraping underneath my unmodified vw polo. The car is due its mot soon and if there is any damage caused by this I WILL be sending you the bill.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your experience in The Hidden Place. Unfortunately, as you are in the country in a remote area the Tv channels can dip in and out, we do however provide a DVD player which you are welcome to exchange your DVD'S at Ullswater Holiday Park coffee shop (Free of charge). With regards to the furniture, we will take a look and see if this needs a change. In the property we do provide a basic starter kit which includes a sponge, washing up liquid and a tea towel. As this is a self-catering cottage, we do only provide the bare minimum. If you need anything extra for the cottage i.e. Cloths, we do have a shop available at Ullswater Holiday Park. We pride ourselves in cleanliness and making sure everything is cleaned to high standard, we do apologise if this wasn’t cleaned to your satisfaction and will pass this on to the cleaning team. This property is secluded and set in a remote area of rural landscape. Access is via a man-made gravel track to the property through the fields; therefore, a low suspension vehicle is not advisable to use in accessing the property. This is stated in the information pack when you make your booking. Property Owner

  • "Overall we enjoyed our stay, a couple of observations that would enhance the experience TV has limited stations, no BBC, possibly needs a signal booster?"

The road leading to property has some big pot holes on the first part of the lane very uncomfortable experience

Thank you for your feedback, we will take this into consideration. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

About the location

POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
