"Amazing cottage in a great location."
Really high spec and loads of space for a 2 bedroom cottage.

"Our stay at Stair Cottage was absolutely first class."
Luxuriously appointed property in a great location, lovely welcome package waiting for us. We will thoroughly recommend this to all of our friends. This is not a criticism at all but we had to hunt down the instruction manuals to find out how to work some of the electrical equipment and we always like to clean up before we leave and could not find a small dustpan and brush. Otherwise, it was a fabulous accommodation.

"Very high quality cottage in a beautiful and quiet location."
Very clean and well maintained with thoughtful touches such as a welcome tray of goodies and adequate cleaning materials.Nespresso coffee maker,Sky Tv with TNT sports and a Jacuzzi bath all great features along with a peaceful garden.Well equipped kitchen. The parking is opposite the cottage and you have to bump your car over a low kerb to get onto it and this needs levelling to avoid scraping the underside of cars.

"Very well equiped cottage."
It had everything we needed. Wonderful location and having two parking spaces was very helpful. Very comfortable, quiet and private. The gentle sound of Newlands Beck just at the end of the garden was a lovely backdrop. Plenty of walks from the door and many others a short drive away.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are glad that you enjoyed everything that the property has to offer and the local walks and views. Lakes Cottage Holidays Owner Relations Property Owner

"Our second stay."
As lovely as we remembered it. Lovely location with walks from the door. Furnished to a high standard. Everything we needed and more. We made the most of the log burner and it was great you’d left so much wood for the fire. I’m sure we’ll be back. Lovely to see Dippers in the river from the kitchen window and pheasants and other birds just outside the window too. Lovely arrival hamper too. Thank you!

"We wanted to call during our stay to report an issue but it’s very hard to find a way to contact from your website."
The main shower overflowed water out into the carpeted corridor which the house notes said should be difficult to do! On investigating the long drainage cover has evidently not been cleaned out for years - I can send a photo of the disgusting mess off hair we had to clean out - not a nice thing to do on holiday . Would recommend this is added to the cleaners routine. Otherwise this was our 4th stay and booked for next year as a great cottage

"Everything was lovely apart from the central heating in the living room and bedrooms was inadequate therefore somewhat spoiling our stay."
-
"We stayed at Stair cottage with family and had an amazing week in the most beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings."
The cottage was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable with lovely fluffy pillows. There are many walks from the door including Cat Bells. The garden was very peaceful with a stream running at the bottom of the garden and only 10 minutes drive into Keswick for shopping and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

"Stair cottage is very comfortable, well equipped, clean and decorated to a very high standard."
It is in a beautiful and peaceful location, with many walks from the door.

"Stair cottage was extremely well fitted out with everything expected in a five star holiday cottage and was very comfortable in every respect."
There are, however, some aspects which were a little disappointing. A T.V.is advertised as being fitted in the main bathroom. Unfortunately there wasn't one when we were there, only a note to say it was broken. This needs amending in the advert for the cottage. Also the walk in shower floor tiles and grouting are black in places and some of the grouting is coming out. The whole shower really needs retiling. The other matters are related to housekeeping. The glass dining table was very smeared and had to be washed and polished. The gas hob splashback was greasy and the top rim adjacent to the wall was filthy. With the exception of one plastic rubbish bag no others were provided, which was inconvenient. Notwithstanding the above, we had a most enjoyable stay at Stair.

"Great place to stay with great walks from the house."
Quiet location. Will book again in the future.

"An absolutely brilliant cottage in a stunning location."
Everything had been considered by the owners and the information, welcome pack and complementary items were very generous. The property was very clean and the accommodation was great for a young family of four with our 3 and 6 year old sharing a double bed. The main bedroom is beautiful with an amazing free standing bath! So much to do locally- an abundance of walks from the door to suit all abilities. We booked alpaca walking at Lingholm prior to the stay and we found Newlands adventure centre close to the stone circle to be a hit. It has great outdoor play in Rookery woods (£5 for the day) and our eldest had a go on the climbing wall which we booked whilst we were there. All in all a fantastic holiday which flew by!

"A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage, we felt very lucky returning each day after exploring this fabulous part of the country."
Thank you!
-
"A wonderful cottage in a secluded village outside of Keswick."
A well maintained property, possibly the best I have stayed in. If you are looking for a quiet retreat in the stunning countryside of the north lake district area then this is the cottage for you.
-
"Very enjoyable relaxing stay."
We had some boiler issues which affected the hot water and heating but they were quickly resolved via excellent communication with the property owners Linda & Stan. The cottage is well equipped with all the mod cons whilst still retaining its cosy character. The area is lovely with easy access to some great walks and the cottage is on a very quiet road and backs on to a river which sits at the bottom of the garden. We would like to stay again.

"Stair Cottage is in a beautiful and quiet location with multiple walks from the cottage without using the car."
Other beauty spots are only a short drive away - Buttermere and Crummock Water, Borrowdale Valley. The cottage is very comfortable, of a very high standard and well-equipped. It was extremely clean and covid measures had been carried out so that we felt safe. It was lovely to come back to the cottage at the end of the day to relax.
-
"Stair cottage exceeded our expectations with everything supplied to meet your needs and more, very comfortable and beautifully furnished, wonderful location."
It was great to return each day after a hard day walking to such a warm and cosy home! We hope to return in the near future. Thank you for the welcome basket!

"Stair cottage is so beautiful you almost don’t want to go out!"
It is luxurious, cozy and very stylish. There are great walks you can do from the front door-Catbells, Derwent water (and the pub), so you can have completely car free days. We had a whole week here and could have stayed longer. Absolutely gorgeous.
-
"Fantastic cottage clean and fresh felt at home as soon as we arrived."
All the utensils and cleaning products were provided to make our stay easy. The location you couldn’t get any better no need to use your car all week if walking with amazing scenery is what your looking for. Thank you we hopefully will be returning in the future. Mel, Andy & Jo

"Equipped to the very highest standard."
Beds were comfortable and well dressed. Loved the jacuzzi bath & tv in the main bathroom. Good walk straight from the door.
-
"The paths to the property."
were slppy & un even. More care was needed when wet.. This was the only isuue to be aware of.. We had Fantastic time Totally well equipped highly recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage with beautiful scenery on the doorstep."
Lots of walks available from the cottage. The cottage itself was extremely clean, beautifully decorated and of a very high specification. We would highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.
-
"A comfortable well equipped cottage but in my opinion, not 5 star luxury."
The outdoor area to the back door was difficult to navigate due to the uneven surface and it was slippy due to the rain and algae from the trees. The front access was similar. There was NO mobile phone signal or texting available. The lounge area was dark due to the overhanging trees at the front of the building and the garden was much the same

"Stair Cottage was exceptional."
We loved it. All facilities were to the highest standard and the cottage was clean and prepared to a very high standard. The photos and listing were very accurate and everything was at least as we expected, if not more. The cottage is extremely well placed to enjoy the Newlands and Borrowdale valleys, along with Keswick.
-
"Beautiful cottage in a lovely location surrounded by wildlife."
High specification cottage to ensure a relaxing holiday
-
"Stair cottage is in perfect location for visiting the Northern Lakes."
Facilities are perfect for two couples. Everywhere was extremely comfortable and clean. We loved the garden with the babbling brook at the bottom and enjoyed feeding pheasants out of our hands.
-
"The collection day for the rubbish needs changing in the cottage guide to Wednesday from Tuesday."
The cottage is a really good one and the provision of logs especially welcomed.
-
"Lovely cottage, luxurious but also cozy and ok for a lively 5 yr old."
Loved the birds in the garden, brilliant position for walking. Already booked again!
-
"Such a lovely cottage which is so well equipped and beautifully located."
-
"The property is actually much bigger in real life than the photographs show."
We chose the Cottage for it's secluded location and we were not disappointed the activity centre being close by may put some people off but we hardly heard them during our stay. Newlands Valley is very much a rural part of the Lake District with nice walks close by and with Derwent water not too far away the lake Taxi to Keswick made for some nice outings.

"Excellent cottage, in a lovely peaceful location."
Stair Cottage is both luxurious and comfortable, with many little extras such as toiletries and kitchen essentials provided, as well as blankets to snuggle under in the lounge. This is the standard which all cottages should aim for. We also enjoyed a great variety of walks, long and short, from the door. Having easy access to a pub with food about 10 minutes' walk away was an added bonus. Will definitely return.
