  • "Me and my partner really enjoyed our stay at cosy corner on the lakes."

The accommodation was very clean, definitely cosy and delightful... and the welcome card was a really nice touch and very welcoming, being self-catering the kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed to prepare meals after our long days hiking around the lake district. The accommodation was only a short distance drive to the mountains, forests, waterfalls and many walking trails. We was also able to enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna on site every night after our long days hiking which really helped... the only downside for us which we are not sure if the owner is aware off but every night at midnight the Wi-Fi would stop and was unable to watch the films we was halfway through watching which was a little disappointing being a young couple. Other then this we would highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely being booking again for future holidays.

Thank you so much for your 100/100 feedback. I am really delighted that you and your partner really had a good break and enjoyed your time at cosy Corner in the Lakes. I am sorry about the WiFi issue. This has not been reported or encountered before however I will investigate and make sure it is sorted. Thank you again for your booking and I hope to be your host again in the future. Property Owner

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Cosy corner in the lakes."

The apartment was delightful…. very well equipped and very clean & bright. Being self catering, the kitchen was great to cook in. The only issue I had, was that the mattress on the bed was far too soft for me. For anyone with a weak back, like myself, it was not a firm supportive mattress and so I struggled to sleep well, for the 10 days we spent there. Unfortunately, this put a huge strain on my back and I feared I would ‘put my back out’, as has happened several times in the past. Obviously this would not be a problem for anyone not requiring/needing a firm, supportive mattress and so this is always a risk for me personally , when we stay away anywhere. The facilities on site are very good. There is a very nice restaurant, leisure pool and crazy golf & putting green, as well a big outdoor chess board. Although the leisure pool is very nice, with clean changing room areas & towels provided, it was hugely disappointing for me, that the main pool did not have graduating steps down, with a handrail, into the water, as did the baby pool. Having certain mobility issues with my legs (very weak muscles and arthritic knees), I was unable to get myself into the pool, using the vertical ladder steps. If I had of struggled to do so, I most certainly would not have been able to get myself out again. I had the same issue with jacuzzi pool, which I had been so looking forward to using, as there were no railed steps to enter the jacuzzi! I felt the leisure facilities were really not thought out, for less abled people, especially for people worse than myself, physically. It was the biggest disappointment of our holiday, as had intended to swim every day.

Thank you for your feedback and I am really delighted you enjoyed your stay at cosy corner in the Lakes. I am sorry the mattress was not to your liking, however it was chosen with care to be as universally comfortable as possible. Regarding the leisure facilities, I will pass your comments to Whitbarrow Holiday Village as I appreciate your experience is a valuable one for their attention. Property Owner

  • "We had a very nice holiday but were disappointed with a few things, in particular the whitbarrow village in which our studio was located."

Twice the fire alarm went off at night/early morning and it appears false alarms are a regular occurrence at this development. No staff were available immediately on site. Things were looking tired and worn out in the swimming pool area too.

Thank you for your comments. I am pleased you had a nice holiday and the apartment met your needs. I can only apologise for any inconvenience caused by the fire alarm episode. I have spoken to the management at Whitbarrow Village about the issues you have raised. The fire alarm system is being attended to to ensure guest safety. Overall, I hope you had a lovely holiday. • "Lovely clean studio apartment which suited my needs for a few days hiking in the northern lakes."

I normally struggle sleeping in the beds provided in hotels/apartments etc but I found the bed in this studio was extremely comfortable. Everything I needed was provided and the Internet TV was a nice touch in helping me to catch up late on in the evening with the Tour de France. The little things provided like salt/pepper, cling film, tin foil and the various cleaning up products where appreciated. A fantastic host, who sorted out a query with swift, effective, efficiency. I would definitely recommend and I will no doubt book again.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I am delighted your stay at Cosy Corner in the Lakes was comfortable and a great base for your holiday. I appreciate your willingness to recommend others and look forward to being your host again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Clean, warm, everything as stated in the on line literature."

However we found the mattress appallingly uncomfortable, we tried putting the spare duvet directly on the mattress which improved it slightly.

My aim is to always provide total guest comfort which is paramount when staying at Cosy Corner in the Lakes and this issue has now been remedied with a new highly rated top quality mattress. • "A wonderful little gem we found!"

Not so little though! Plenty of room to meet all of your requirements and I will honestly say that you can't get better than this especially for the value of the holiday, I have disabilities and I was a little concerned but I had nothing to worry about and managed perfectly well. Home from home experience and I have already recommended to family and friends. I would just like to say that I have very little immune system and the cleanliness is second to none. The owner is a very lovely lady and will go above and beyond to ensure that you have the best stay.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for already recommending Cosy Corner in the Lakes to your family and friends. A ‘home from home’ experience is the essence of what Cosy Corner is all about. I look forward to hosting you again in the future. Best wishes, Anna-Louise Property Owner
