  • "A few points for future guests."

    1. There is site wide WiFi which reaches the house. 2. The washing machine is not in the house, there is a laundry room with 1 machine costing £2.50 which only does a 39min synthetic wash. 3. The master bedroom has a frosted glass door with no curtain/blind so the room is never dark due to the car park lights outside.

  • "We found the property to be very clean and well equipped."

Having stayed in this property before we appreciated the updates to the bathrooms and the redecoration that has been completed so far. We had a very comfortable stay and appreciated contact with regard to the problem with the oven hob which we were able to use for our needs so it didn’t affect our stay at all. We will definitely look to return to this property in the future as the facilities and location are perfect for us.

Thanks for the feedback and we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have now replaced both the hob and the oven. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The hob on the oven didn't work at all making cooking difficult, there is only one wardrobe for 6 people the cooking pans and utensils were covered in grease and old food."

Generally we found the property to be clean and comfortable.

Mr Ash, We are so sorry there some issues. We work closely with our cleaning company, we raised this issue and have been assured that this won’t happen again. Since your stay we have also replaced both the hob and oven. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We stay in this cottage a lot - it’s always comfortable and fairly priced."

The new bathroom is a really nice addition and hopefully is part of a wider programme of refurbishment. We enjoy the on site pool and bar/restaurant and the cottage is ideally located for trips to Penrith, Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and the like.

Hi Dr Murphy, Thanks for the feedback, we purchased the cottage last summer and we have started a refurbishment project, we have now replaced both bathrooms, redecorated and added a media wall to the lounge. We intend to continue the programme over the next 12 months. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Great property which met all our needs; although it perhaps lacks homeliness."

The facilities on site are fantastic - we particularly appreciated the pool and leisure suite and the crazy golf - as is the location. And, certainly out of season, the site is quiet although most of the cottages seemed to be in use and there is a pleasant buzz about the site. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Had a great holiday. Thank you Note to the owner: A spatula / fish slice and a wooden spoon would really improve the kitchen.

About the location

PENRUDDOCK

Keswick 11 miles; Penrith 6 miles.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.
