This beautifully presented semi-detached cottage is situated in the yard of a working farm in the quiet Cumbria countryside, not far from the village of Dalston.

Carrock Cottage has been carefully appointed throughout to provide cosy accommodation for families who are looking to break away from normality and explore this scenic part of the country.

Situated in the heart of a working farm you can gaze at the cows through the windows, perfect for any animal lover!

Discover the kitchen/diner, presented to an immaculate standard with navy units and white worktops that form a sleek finish, plus a whole host of integrated appliances to assist throughout your stay.

There is also a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer so you won’t have to pack your whole wardrobe!

Make yourself comfortable in the lounge, appointed with an alluring gas woodburning stove for those cold winter nights, and a wall-mounted TV so you can stay updated with your favourite shows.

As you tire, there are three delightful bedrooms upstairs, including two doubles, one with a feature fireplace, and a twin, presented in neutral tones and fitted with a good amount of storage space.

Each of the bedrooms are fitted with TVs so you can continue watching in bed, or take a moment to watch the farm animals from the windows, making you feel at one with nature.

A modern bathroom and shower room ties the interior together, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day.

The paved garden area provides a lovely spot to sit back and enjoy the tranquil location, or pop on your walking boots and get to know your surroundings better on a local stroll.

Nestled just off the north of the Lake District National Park, this cottage near Dalston provides easy access to the Lakeland fells and the bustling town of Keswick.

Situated in a serene bit of countryside, there are plenty of magnificent walks and bike rides through the fells and forests, and Whinlatter Forest Park has an exciting Go Ape Adventure Course, whilst for a more peaceful day you can venture through Borrowdale, ideal for a peaceful picnic along the lake shore.

Experience the hustle and bustle of Keswick and enjoy a variety of attractions, including Keswick Market where you can source some local crafts and goods, or visit the Keswick Museum & Art Gallery, home to the original manuscripts from the Lake Poets.

Alternatively, head north to the city of Carlisle, home to a wealth of fantastic shopping facilities, superb restaurants and historical attractions such as Carlisle Castle with its 2000 years of history to uncover, the Tullie House Museum And Art Gallery, Dixon's Chimney and the historic landmark of The Citadel.

Where you’ll be staying

DALSTON

Carlisle 4.6 miles; Keswick 16 miles, Penrith 17.9 miles.

The village of Dalston sits within the Carlisle district of Cumbria, historically part of Cumberland. In the village square lies the red sandstone church of St Michael, dating back to the 13th century, whilst Dalston Hall is a magnificent Grade II listed building full of character and landscape gardens, which is often used as a wedding venue. About two miles south of Dalston is Rose Castle, the palace of the Bishops of Carlisle, which is not open to the public but may be viewed from the road. Carlisle can be reached in four and half miles, a 2000-year-old city with two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one World Heritage Site, plus lots of pedestrianised shopping areas, award-winning malls, colourful farmer’s markets as well as a traditional Victorian indoor market. Dalston also provides good access to the beautiful North Pennines AONB and the Lake District National Park, making it a great base for outdoor enthusiasts.
