  • "The Watermill at Allithwaite."

A gorgeous restored watermill with beautiful views in a great location. All fixtures and fittings were of the highest quality and the interior design was first class. Would definitely recommend and will return. Owners were very friendly and paid great attention to cleaning of the property and maintenance of the huge garden. Blissful retreat! Walking distance to children's park with zip line, local shop,pub_ restaurant and ice cream shop with cafe at local dairy farm.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We look forward to seeing you again soon Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous week at the Old Watermill, enhanced by sunny weather all week."

The property is lovely with every room having been tastefully done to a high standard, with good quality equipment, furniture and decorations. It was also spotlessly clean when we arrived. The rooms were very comfortable & it was the best nights sleep I can remember on any holiday. Outside there is a patio with table which gets the afternoon & evening sun, and a large lawned area with ample parking. It’s not enclosed so we had to put our dog’s lead on while we were out. The cottage is ideally located for visiting many of the Lake District’s most popular spots, but is in a lovely peaceful location to enable maximum relaxation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property and would definitely go back if I was visiting the area in the future.

Located in quiet location but not far from main roads. Very clean and comfortable and owners very helpful and attentive

  • "A perfect little getaway!"

The property was stunning and did not disappoint. The owners have completed this property to a high standard, combining the old with the new with ease. The bedrooms were comfy and well equipped but as a suggestion curtains would have enabled us to sleep past 5am and sunrise. Great communication with the owner to ensure our stay was perfect. The location was perfect for visiting nearby towns and beauty spots. Although the property is in a secluded spot it would benefit from blinds in the main lounge for a bit more privacy. We loved this property and would return in a heartbeat and would highly recommend.

Hi thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Points made have been taken on board - the lounge is a difficult one as some love the openness but agree blinds/curtain would give more privacy. Hope to see you again soon. Jo & Mark Property Owner

  • "The Old Water Mill is a beautiful old building that has had life breathed back into it with lots of love and care."

The owners have filled it with high end quality items, which makes it feel like home. The views from the property are amazing from every window, especially the giant picture window in the lounge, where you can see the field of cows as neighbours. The cottage has everything you need from a fully equipped kitchen to board games a plenty to help entertain you on those rainy days. Furthermore, it is ideally located to Grange over Sands for all your grocery needs for your stay and Cartmel for an evening of racing or just eating sticky toffee pudding, which is a must. We will definitely be recommending to family and friends and hopefully returning ourselves very soon.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It’s much appreciated and so glad you love the old watermill as much as we do. Property Owner

  • "Very good value for the rental price."

In reality the cottage is better than the photos in the listing. Lovely convenient location, well equipped and well furnished. The open plan ground floor in particular is a great living area. It is spacious and has big windows that make it light and airy, but very comfortable. We have stayed in a lot of cottages over the years and "The Old Watermill" is one of the best. We would highly recommend it.

Thank you so much that’s lovely feedback. Hope to see you again soon.. Property Owner
