"Excellent location in centre of village yet away from all traffic noise."
The property has everything you could need..very well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room . We would hope to be able to make use of the patio when we return in warmer weather. The only comment on the maintenance side is that mould needs treating in the corners and bathrooms.

"The holiday apartment was very nice but a shame there was scaffolding around the building making it feel like a worksite!"
We feel that we should have been told about the work beforehand, we couldn’t use the gardens in the lovely weather as there were workers painting and up on scaffolding etc…this was the first holiday cottage that we’ve been to with no little welcome goods not even a pint of milk left. (Those little additions can make a difference) A nice apartment though in a great central position with added bonus of parking.

"The whole building was surounded by scaffolding and the painters were there throughout my stay."
All the rooms in the flat were plunged in darkness all day. The presence of the painters also made it uncomfortable to sit on the patio and the steps up to patio itself were difficult to negotiate due to the scaffolding. There was no mention of these steps in the description of the listing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will take a look at the listing.. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"The flat ist really good situated."
But it is a Souterrain so nothing is going to dry in there, the floor was still wet when we arrived and there is Little daylight. There is mold in the bathrooms and the corners. Otherwise good renovated flat with new furniture although the bed. was rather hard. Lakelovers handed us the wrong key on arrival, seems to be rather usual After Reading the comments. Perhaps a key locker would be better?

"A quiet, clean, comfortable and modern apartment with friendly neighbours."
A great base to explore the Lakes from. Close to shops, cafés and restaurants.

"A really lovely apartment, fully equipped and very clean in a central position with private parking."
A real gem of a find

"We are really happy to find such a lovely place to stay in Ambleside, it made our arrival rainy day warm and cozy, moreover the apartment was ready for us earlier, it wasn't shame to stay in till the weather improved, and later to relax between our walks."
There were everything we needed and even more, so many lovely decorations, like beautiful photos and pictures of the Lakes, a big road map of the region, A.Wainwrights books and lots of leaflets with local sights and walks, board games, guests book, etc. The furniture is like brand-new and stylish, the garden seats were in a cloakroom, shame the weather didn't let us enjoy the patio, but we had a little look at it, and could imagine how nice it would be to relax there. We could hardly meet or hear other residents or holiday people in the building, it was so quiet, just what we wanted, also a reserved car park space was such a bonus in always busy Ambleside, thank you. Our little son loved Rothay Park playground which is in a 5 min walk from the apartment. He loved the apartment as well and didn't want to go home. Thank you Caroline for everything, we could feel your care about holidaymakers and walkers, it was touching indeed, we hope to come back next year, wishing you all the best.
What a lovely thing to read. Makes me so happy that you love it as much as I do. Thank you for your kind words. Caroline Property Owner

"We've stayed here 5 times now as it's a great base for walking and amenities."
I noticed this time that the bath needs a goid scrub - there's dirt around the metal fittings. Also, there are no instructions as to what needs doing on leaving the property, e.g., regarding rubbish bin and beds, etc. Consequently, we just left everything as it was but would have been happy to take rubbish out, strip beds, etc., if requested to do so. All in all though, we love the flat and the parking is a boon. We will be back next year!

"2nd visit, comfortable sofa, just what you need after a long walk."
Clean and well equipped. Peaceful but only a short walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Looking forward to visiting again

"A perfectly situated comfortable flat that is tucked away from the centre of town."
Fantastic walks from the door. This was our 5th stay in this property and we were impressed with the upgraded interior. Sure to return when we want to base ourselves in Ambleside.

"Great apartment and fantastic location!"
-
"Lovely apartment which is well equipped and a good location."
Only problem was that iit was cold on arrival and took a while to heat up. I would have liked more info about refuse/recycling and TV etc.

"Disappointed with Lake Lovers."
Having traveled for almost 6 hours, we arrived to collect our keys just before 1am and proceeded to the lock box as always. However, our keys were not there!! Fortunately, someone answered the helpline number and we had our keys within 20 mins. The apartment was as lovely as ever and we had a lovely holiday after the initial panic.

"The flat was lovely - found the second bedroom a bit too small for 2 adults, beds felt small - apart from that everything was perfect."
-
"Great location and very clean apartment."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definitely be back. Secure parking and very quiet area of the town is a bonus too…

"On entry to the property, switch on the hall lights, some need new bulbs, how disappointing for something so simple."
Water turned off, page on the wall indicates a brass tap, one in the relevant outside hall cupboard, wrong tap. Easy to remedy. We have only one tv program we don't want want to miss and that is on ch21, either that channel is not available or we are too stupid to find it Later on we find most if not all the dining chair legs are loose. Big compensation claim on the horizon there. otherwise a very nice flat in a very good location.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the location of the property We apologise for any inconvenience that the issues during your stay caused. We hope to welcome you again. The owner relations team - Lakelovers Property Owner

"Well appointed cottage in a lovely quiet setting."
We were disappointed that we couldn’t use the patio for a coffee or an aperitif as advertised as there was no patio furniture. This would have been appreciated as the weather was glorious. As the lounge and kitchen are very dark it would have been nice to sit outside.
Thank you for your comments. We were unaware of the issue that you experienced with the outdoor furniture, had you made us aware during your stay we would have attend to try and resolve. Thank you- The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"This is a well equipped, comfortable ground floor apartment in the centre of Ambleside with the bonus of off street parking."
This is the second time we have stayed here. Would recommend it.

"Very well equipped flat with up to date fittings."
Warm and comfortable and enjoyed out stay. It was perfect and would thoroughly recommend. However, there was a big problem with the key as it took a lot of wiggling for some time to get the door open and often thought it wasn't going to work at all. We asked for Lakelovers to come and sort this out but no one turned up. We often ended up having the leave the door to the flat on the latch. This obviously made us anxious.

"Generally great."
Only complain is the day we came to drop the keys off, the shop was shut and nowhere to post the keys.
-
"Lovely place in a great location."
Will definitely book again!
-
"We loved the apartment, it was super comfortable which we really appreciated after active days."
The location was brilliant, especially being so close to Rothay Park which the kids loved.
-
"Can’t fault it."
Spacious well equipped apartment in a great location.

"Great location, well appointed apartment, fantastic value"

"We come up to the Lakes as often as we can, but we have never stayed in Ambleside before."
It was a fortuitous choice this time as we arrived on the night of the big storm, and once we finally made it through all the fallen trees at 2.30am, we also discovered it was one of the few areas still with power! The location was perfect, we could just wander into town as and when we wanted, even taking time to do the local walks. Your apartment was just what we wanted, great location, well equipped kitchen, very clean and a comfy sofa. Our only recommendation is the matress in the main bedroom is soooo hard, we finished up having to use the bunk beds! We would love to return in the future, thank you for sharing your home!

"Lovely apartment and had a really comfortable week long stay."
The apartment is comfortably furnished, really well stocked kitchen equipment, new bathroom. The block that it sits within was really quiet when we stayed. Lovely children's playpark 2 mins away. Would recommend!

"Despite listing and photos this is not a ground floor flat."
It is a basement. There are11 steep steps to the patio. There is dried vomit on steps In a heatwave in July the flat was VERY damp. The bed clothes were horrible to get into, Clothes left in a suitcase felt damp The bathroom needs a deep clean and is not 'luxury'. It is a dated white suite The flat is very dark at all points on a July day in bright sunshine due to massive overgrowth of garden plants, basement location and a north facing aspect The flat was VERY poorly/not cleaned. Hairs everywhere including between plates and wrapped around the door mechanism to the 'ensuite' There is No breakfast bar in the kitchen The bath needs drain cleaner down the plug hole The bedroom furniture is the cheapest I have ever used in a holiday flat. The draws and doors constantly stuck when used We have used Lakelovers for over 30 years! What a horrible disappointment

"Ambleside Haven is a little gem if you want a clean modern comfortable apartment."
It’s very close to town and everything Ambleside has to offer and yet tucked away from all the hustle and bustle that comes with it. Also there is private parking and lovely grounds, Ambleside Haven is on the ground floor and has a lovely small patio area just outside the back door which we used every morning.

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
