  • "This is a great property with good parking less than 10mins walk for the centre."

Well equipped. Only slight complaint is the extractor hood is at just the wrong height and location so I regularly knocked my head while cooking.

Thank you for your good feedback. We feel it was unreasonable to be being marked down on”Accuracy of Listing” when it clearly states in two different places that dogs are not allowed Property Owner

  • "My family and I had a terrific stay at Blue Hill Park this week."

The accommodation was excellent - really well equipped, very clean and clearly well maintained and cared for. The ease of parking is also such a positive, we have stayed in many properties in the Ambleside area over the years and this definitely tops the pile for value. We have booked again for the summer!

  • "This is a wonderful property, small but perfectly formed."

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The instructions left on how things work were great. The towels smelt lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped. Parking right outside. There is everything to love about this property. We all agreed we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Ambleside is walkable in 5/10 minutes so long as you don’t have mobility issues. Just take a torch if walking after dark (one was provided at the property). We are a family of 2 adults and 2 younger children and this house was absolutely perfect for us.

  • "Approach to accommodation can be challenging to less confident drivers, or those with a large vehicle, tight areas to negotiate with vehicle due to narrow lane and inconsiderate parking."

Very near local amenities and good bus links, our own car parked up for the entire stay. Can highly recommend the apartment!

Thank you for your feedback and really pleased you enjoyed your stay The occasional inconsiderate parking has been taken up with the Council due to concerns that an ambulance or fire engine could not get through in an emergency Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Hill Park."

The apartment was in the perfect location, being just a short downhill in to the centre of Ambleside. It was very well equipped with modern and comfortable furnishings with lots of extra touches for an enjoyable stay. Parking was easy and with plenty of walks from the doorstep we didn't use the car all week. We would love to stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

  • "Wonderful stay, apartment beautifully presented and was spotlessly clean upon arrival."

Apartment was well equipped with everything we needed throughout our stay, even small details had been thought about such as children's utensils and crockery which has often been overlooked in other places we have stayed. Despite other reviews, we got the TV working no problem and made full use of the patio and the commual gardens when the sun came out. The location is ideal and we left the car most days and walked straight out of the apartment - the walk leaflets at the front door were well used! Would definitely book to stay again.

Very well equipped. By far the cleanest holiday let I've stayed in! High quality appliances and lots of little extras such as hand wash, washing up liquid, tinfoil, sandwich bags etc. Bottle of prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch! Will definitely be back!

  • "Great cottage with good parking."

Short walk down to Ambleside and a 10 min walk back. Shame not more outdoor space as all very communal. Couldn’t get the smart TV to work and stream but had laptop and connected through the laptop. Will look to rebook soon

  • "This is a really nice flat in a good location for Ambleside with good parking."

The flat is smaller than pictures suggest but is easily big enough for 4. There is lots of useful storage and brilliant to have a dishwasher and washing machine and dryer. Good range of cooking utensils and pans etc and big fridge freezer. You can’t really use the back outside space as it’s tiny and never gets sun but the front shared garden space is really nice. The bath plug might need looking at as whenever we had a bath the water slowing ran out but shower was good and lots of hot water. The towel rail didn’t work unless heating was on which was odd as there appeared to be an electric switch.

Thank you for your feedback. I think to say the patio is unusable is unreasonable; as can be seen from the pictures there is enough room for a table that easily fits 4 people. It is south east facing so gets the sun (when it is out) from mid morning to mid afternoon. We can supply pictures to prove this There are instructions on how to operate the towel rail in the folder (and is as recommended by British Gas) Property Owner

  • "The second time visiting and all great again, the only criticism would be the TV which now can only be worked by a fire stick which makes it less than easy to use."

Not sure if this a temporary fix but it's not great. I would definitely recommend the property though it's very clean and tidy and the location is lovely and peaceful.

Thank you for your feedback Unfortunately the satellite stopped working and the fire stick was the quickest way we could provide a good range of live and catch up TV It is only temporary and will replaced by Smart Tv. Property Owner

  • "Lovely apartment!"

Beautifully furnished, everything of the highest quality. Well situated, just a 10/15 minutes' walk from the bus stop in Ambleside (a bit of a climb, but even for me (78) no problem. No negative points, or it would be that the kitchen was too "high tech" for me... kitchen also surprisingly well equipped. The bottle of Prosecco which awaited me upon arrival in the apartment was very much appreciated!

It was certainly cleaned to a very high standard this time. We have marked it perfectly apart from ‘Comfort’ as the sofas are not very comfortable anymore where the cushioning has aged with use. Apart from that minor point it really is a Lakeland gem

  • "As a happy Lakelovers customer for many years, I was disappointed to be called by the check-in team when I was 5 minutes away from my apartment on foot with two wet and cold young children to tell me my apartment would not be ready for at least another hour as it had not been cleaned."

Admittedly frustrated after a 6 am departure from London, the team at Lakelovers offered to pay for a meal and drinks for my family while we waited. I appreciate that mistakes can happen and am more than happy with how the team made up for it. I would happily return to Lakelovers based on this continued excellent customer service.

  • "The apartment was nice but it was very dirty with us having to clean the property upon arrival - cobwebs, spiders, dirty plates, dirty table, crumbs all over the kitchen floor and stains on the bed."

The Sykes Cottages team were not very helpful when I advised them of this; they didn’t respond to two of my emails and kept requesting photos of the dirt which I had already cleaned up in order to progress the matter further. They did offer a reclean but I had already cleaned the property and with Covid, we didn’t want someone entering the premises. They didn’t seem to care that the apartment wasn’t up to expectations.

Thank you for your feedback and we are very disappointed that the apartment was not clean for your arrival. The property had a deep clean 8 days before you arrived and the guest the week before you gave it 100% for cleanliness so we are surprised it could have got that dirty. I understand the Lakelovers housekeeping team offered to reattend but this was declined by you; we have a contract with them to clean the property and provide fresh linen and towels and it is their job to ensure this is done. The children loved exploring the woods behind the apartment, and were excited to discover the little waterfall in there. We also enjoyed the walk up Wansfell and also to Stockghyll force. Also walking distance to the lake. There were laminated walk routes available at the apartment. Would highly recommend.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
