"It would be a good idea to have a few novels available."
Most holiday cottages have a selection. Also the lack of a welcome pack of tea, sugar, milk and biscuits . Just a minor detail but can make a big difference if able to make a cuppa after a long and tiring journey. Need to point out that it is a very steep climb up the hill from the town. My husband and I got a taxi every day!!

"The House was very comfortable and clean."
My only slightly negative feedback would be a lack of comfortable seating in an evening if there were more than 6 adults. There is a chair, 3 seater and 2 seater (unless you squeezed more into them). Other than that we found it ideal for our needs. This cannot be addressed but worth noting it sits at the top of a steep ascent through the estate - no matter to us as we are able to and wanted to walk the hills. The garden albeit equipped with a lovely garden set doesn’t get much light so we didn’t use it despite fantastic sunny weather. Kitchen very well equipped with top quality appliances. We would look to rebook if staying in Ambleside again.

"This house was just perfect for our group, with 4 bedrooms so enough room for the 5 of us."
It is very pet friendly and was great to be able to take out 2 dogs. The house is well maintained and is very comfortable. The beds are good and the living area has plenty of space for everyone. One review says that the ground floor bedroom had a damp smell but we didn’t find that. There is a fan and the windows open if further ventilation is needed. The property is a short walk into Ambleside about 10 mins but you do keep fit walking back up the hill. The host got in touch and was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely visit again.
Thank you Fiona for your generous comments and we look forward to welcoming you in the future, to continue your experience of the lovely Lake District. Property Owner

"The location was bit far to walk into town due to hills not suitable for anyone with mobility issues."
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We do take your comments on board, however, the listing does state that the property is in 'an elevated position' Thank you. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"Good location in Ambleside."
Property well equiped. Bedroom on ground floor smells a little damp & mould in sealant around shower. Sofa's on 1st floor smell musty. All bedrooms on 2nd floor clean & in good order. Main bathroom tired & presonally hate a shower curtain. All recycle bins in outdoor cupboard full & overspill on floor. Woken at 4am every morning by a cockerall that is free range & nests in trees opposite house. Accidently left a small item contacted Sykes twice & after 2 weeks have heard nothing.
Thank you for your comments. We take all comments on board, and will be passed on to the relevant teams. Thank you The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"You told us there would be a stair gate to protect our young child, apparently the owner informed you that this was not possible but somehow this information was not passed on to us."
The accommodation was very well equipped and the views from the property were amazing.
Hi, I trust you had a successful walk up Scafell. It’s a shame that you failed to mention to me on the Friday when I working at the property installing new 8 person garden furniture, a bench at the front to admire the view, upgrading the fence and a customised porch mat. I discussed your request 4 months ago and declined because of insurance, decorative and the customised ironwork bannisters. The listing is accurate it’s does not include stair gates but there is a cot and high chair in the back bedroom wardrobe . I’m pleased you enjoyed the views, location and large amounts of accommodation. Property Owner

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, a cinema and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Zefferellis, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.
