• "We had a lovely week at Greenways."

  Only a five minute walk into Ambleside yet Greenways is so peaceful. We couldn’t fault the cottage at all. It was very well equipped ,spotlessly clean and very comfortable.So much attention to detail. Unfortunately we lost our dog in June so he didn’t get to enjoy it but I am sure he would have. It’s one of the best we’ve stayed in. We can’t wait to come back.

• "We had a great week in Ambleside."

  Greenways is a lovely, clean, comfortable and well equipped bungalow with parking. It is a short (downhill) walk into the centre of Ambleside and is well situated for catching local buses.

• "The bungalow is very comfortable and clean and has everything you need."

  It is in a lovely quiet location, has great parking and is only a very short walk from the shops in Ambleside. We had a wonderful holiday and are looking forward to returning in May 2025.

• "Greenways is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location."

  It has everything that you need to enjoy a fantastic break in Ambleside. The cottage was perfect. It is fully stocked and extremely comfortable. It has two outdoor seating areas, and both are real sun traps (if you’re lucky enough to get some sun). Easy parking on the drive in front of the cottage and a short stroll into town. We hope to book again next year.

• "We had another lovely stay at Greenways."

  It is definitely home from home. It is very clean and well equipped. Location is very good and central. The garden is lovely with 2 seating areas but the garden isn't fully secure for our little dog as she jumped over the wall into the next garden. This would not put us off as we kept her on a long lead after that. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely stay.

• "Greenaway was a lovely place to stay."

  Everything was very clean and we loved the views from the kitchen and lounge . The garden was great for our dog and there are lots of good walks from the cottage so no need to use the car everyday. It was also very handy for the shops and cafe's just down the road. Would love to stay here again sometime.

• "We had a glorious four nights up in Ambleside."

  Cottage was brilliantly located and didn’t need to move the car. Cottage was very clean, warm and had all the amenities you needed, including sharp knives. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again for when we return. Thank you.

• "Lovely cosy bungalow in a great location."

  A 5 minute down hill walk to the village. The house is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything that you would need. We had taken my 97 year old mother with us who enjoyed her break. Due to the steep hill up to the bungalow we had to use the car to get her up and down to the village which was a bit of a pain. I would not recommnend this location to elderly or infirm due to the incline getting back up to cottage. For us it was great.

• "The cottage was immaculately clean, and very well equipped."

  We really appreciated the comprehensive information about the bins and heating system, something we've struggled with in other cottages. The bed was very comfortable with the mattress topper on, and the towels were really good quality. The location was also very good, quiet but very close to the town centre. We noticed that BBC1 did not come up on the tv so we had to access it via iPlayer - possibly the channel needs retuning?

• "We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Greenways."

  The location was superb with just a 5-10 minute walk into Ambleside and a 15 minute walk to Waterhead, making it very easy to explore the local area by foot. The house itself was immaculate, very well equipped and comfortable, with plenty of storage space and two lovely patio areas outside. Highly recommended for an active but relaxing family break.

  We found a Greenways the bungalow very good excellent facilities would not hesitate to recommend only five minutes to the village however due to the a couple of very steep roads it is not ideal for people of a certain age or any medical issues is actually cost ourselves 70 pound in taxis to get back from the town I am so much surprised this hasn't been mentioned before however the bungalow was beautiful and the scenery from all windows was beautiful

  We are so sorry to hear of your problems with Gale Rigg. Nobody has mentioned this as a problem before but we take on board what you say. Although we wouldn’t describe Gale Rigg as “very steep”, we accept that the slope upwards to Greenways could be an issue to someone with health problems. We will liaise with Heart of the Lakes to mention the slope in their property description for Greenways - thank you for bringing this to our attention and thank you for the positive content of the rest of your feedback, much appreciated. While we accept that you probably won’t be returning to Greenways in future, we wish you luck in finding a more suitable Ambleside property more on the level for future holidays Best regards Phil Nendick Property Owner

  Comfortable property, kitchen well equipped. Clean and uncluttered. Seating area front and back. Only one minor maintenance issue, the shrubs / bramble running along side the path from the front to the back garden needs trimming back.

  Comfortable, very well equipped. Lovely secure garden. Only very slight negative, water a little cool for our liking and a mop would be good to clean up on wet days etc.

• "Lovely place to stay."

  Very peaceful area and lovely views. The shower was a bit cool for us it really could do with a temperature increase especially after a cold walk! Otherwise a great place to stay and we would like to stay there again

  The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All kitchen appliances good. Plenty storage space in bedrooms. Ample parking at front of property. Also useful information on activities and eating establishments locally.

• "Excellent Cottage and in a ideal location, only 2/3 minutes from town centre, very clean and cosy and the back yard is a sun trap to sun worshippers, found only 1 minor fault, the toaster will only take 2 pieces of bread, would definitely stay again."

  Good views of Wansfell from the kitchen. The interior layout is excellent, especially the lounge and kitchen area. Overall a very good base for walking or sightseeing. Plenty of parking space for 2 cars if required.
