"This was our first visit to this great property, central to everything in Ambleside and a good base for walking."
Parking space was very convenient. We will definitely return.
So glad you enjoyed our lovely apartment! Property Owner

"As we wrote in the visitors book: The best property we’ve experienced in thirty years of staying in the Lake District."
The location is perfect and the view exceptional. The apartment is in great condition and the furniture comfortable. We loved it!
-
"Very comfortable, clean."
Well appointed. Well kitted out, especially the kitchen. Heating timing good. Well managed. Sykes helpful and well organised. Recently refurbished? We would book this apartment again. Most enjoyable and relaxing stay. Good location for easy access to the centre. Not on a main thoroughfare so quiet & peaceful. Well organised parking.

"A Comfortable stay, lovely view from the front window."
A warm and homely apartment with a short walk into centre. No need to use the car we took the bus on a few occasions.
-
"Perfect location, parking, comfortable beds and sofas, warm and well equipped."
A lovely stay thank you. 2 points, dishwasher handle needs attention, building entrance is very tricky at night as no light.

"As described, very nice & clean."
Well equipped & an excellent position. Parking space a big bonus. Bed very comfy but double bed does creak a lot at the slightest movement. Overall excellent stay.

"WE ALWAYS STAY IN THIS EXCELLENT HOLIDAY LETTING- IS REALLY CONVENIENT, CLEAN AND IT HAS ALL WE NEED."
LOCATION QUIIET AND PEACEFUL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN THE CENTRE OF AMBLESIDE.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed our apartment and for your positive feedback. We hope you will return very soon. Property Owner

"Lovely clean apartment."
In a perfectly central location. Would definitely stay again. Took us a few minutes to realise we had to turn on the water. Couldn't get Sky TV to work but we didn't ask Heart of the Lakes for assistance so that's our own fault really. The only negative I'd say is that the beds could do with being replaced. Very old, creaky wooden beds. Very noisy when you literally just turn over. The views are outstanding, we sat at the dining table some evenings watching the bats.
Thank you for your comments, we are glad to hear that you found the property to be clean, and that you enjoyed the views! We are sorry to hear about the beds as they are divan beds and the mattresses have all been replaced recently just a few months ago. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

"The property was very nice and well furnished."
It is situated in a great spot being so close to the town centre and the views of the fells were great. Having your own off-road car parking space was very convenient too.
-
"Lovely apartment with beautiful views."
Good to have a parking space so hardly used the car. Everything thought of although would have been nice to have had some basic cleaning products as I like to leave as I find. Would certainly recommend and probably return

"We have stayed here several times because it's an excellent holiday apartment."
Stunning views of the hills, well equipped kitchen, beautifully furnished, very comfy beds. It's quiet and peaceful, shops and cafes are just round the corner and there are great walks from here.

"This property is great, excellent location, good parking, well equipped, amazing views, nice and quiet the only thing that stops me giving it 5 stars is the uncomfortable beds, the double is tiny I'm 5ft 6 and my feet hung out of the bottom and it is lumpy, we had to move to the twin room to get a decent nights sleep."
Such a shame as everything else is perfect.
Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback. The double bed is a standard size but you will be pleased to know that this month we have replaced all of the mattresses in the flat. Property Owner

"Comfortable clean flat in great location, quiet but also very close to town centre."
Good view of Loughrigg Fell from the sitting room.

"Lovely accommodation."
Everything you could need. Great peaceful location just 2 minutes from centre of Ambleside. Would highly recommend & will stay here again.

"The flat is ideally placed in the centre of Ambleside yet it is very private and quiet."
We discovered and explored more of Ambleside than just the main centre of bars and shops. I would definitely recommend staying here. We took our own dvds for movie nights to watch with our grandson who is 5 however the choice already there was good. They also had a good selection of reading books. The kitchen was well equipped from cutlery to pots and pans. The view from the main room was stunning of Loughrigg Fell. The park and playing fields was a minutes walk from the property and catered for toddlers up to 10yrs. The park was clean and had lots of picnic areas even though it was busy it didn’t feel busy. We are definitely going to return soon.

"We have stayed in this apartment a couple of times previously."
The location is great for shops/restaurant and walks. However this time we felt a little let down by the cleanliness especially the bathroom. It was obvious that around the taps, shower and toilet they had not been cleaned in some time properly due to the build up of black mould. I spent my Friday afternoon giving it a good clean with the antibacterial spray I bought with me as I couldn’t leave it like that for the next person and the smell was getting worse as the week went on. The mould on the ceiling was bad enough and definitely needs attending too, at least decorated. I understand the room becomes damp but there should not have been the build up of mould in those areas if cleaned properly. Check in and out times are now earlier/later which I thought was to allow extra cleaning due to Covid but it is evident that extra time is not being spent. I will have to think twice before staying here again especially with the price increase next year.
We would like to thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the location of the property. We are sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the property was not up to our usual standard. Cleaning is paramount to us and we have passed this on to our housekeeping manager to find out why and ensure that this will not happen again. Comments such as these are helpful and we appreciate you letting us know, had you contacted us during your stay we could have come to the property to rectify. We hope this does not deter you from visiting Loughrigg View and we hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

"I was disappointed initially to ring Heart of the Lakes in Ambleside and find I was speaking to someone from Sykes Cottages who knew nothing about Ambleside."
I never managed to set up an account with Sykes as there was a problem with passwords (I don't usually have a problem with passwords) I never managed to get through on the phone to sort this out as it was always busy. I am of the generation who like to communicate verbally at some stage through the booking process. However, Loughrigg View was delightful and we had a wonderful week. Thank you to all of you who worked hard to clean and prepare.

AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
