"The house was fantastic."
Perfectly kitted out, furnishings very good quality. Beds and showers were of very high standard. Quality of bed-linen and towels was very good. Kitchen was well equipped. The location is perfect too for access to the multitude of very good restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops which Ambleside has. Guest book had lots of very helpful information regarding walks and things to do in the area. A lot of effort has gone into making a stay in the property a good one. We had issues with wi-fi. When we followed instructions in cottage manual, message said password was incorrect. We solved it by then connecting to the tp-link addresses and this worked to get us wi-fi. I think the instructions in the manual need amended.

"A welcome pack at the property with Information on Wi-Fi code, use of appliances ..."
A welcome pack at the property with Information on Wi-Fi code, use of appliances ( as some may not be familiar with the various products) would be useful with some suggested things to do near by, restaurants etc Property was excellent - parking a little tight for 2 big cars Hope to return at some point in the future
Thank you for your kind comments, the welcome information folder has now been replaced, it has our personal suggestions and recommendations for the area, including walking/cycling routes, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Property Owner

"We loved staying here as it is in a central location."
The facilities were great and the decor and furnishings were excellent. As a suggestion the bedroom windows could do with blackout blinds. We stayed here as a family for 3 nights and would highly recommend.
Thank you for your positive comments, the bedroom windows are tilt and turn safety exit windows and have to fully open within the deep window recesses and attached Venetian blinds were the only option given to us by Hillary’s Property Owner

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
