  • "A very pleasant stay in a well equipped cottage."

We have stayed here several times, but this is the first time since it has been improved. We like the alterations and appreciate the off road parking and secure garden for the dog.

  • "Lovely bungalow in super location."

Very quiet, yet less than 10mins to busy centre. Well maintained garden with seating in 2 areas. Mostly spacious, except the shower-rooms which were rather small. Well stocked kitchen, full size dishwasher was a bonus, as was washing machine and tumble drier. Slight pain that freezer is in garage (dog’s food). Would definitely return.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you back again to The Lakes The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "The bungalow was both clean & comfortable and had nearly everything you could want."

However, we were surprised that there weren’t any shower mats for when you stepped out, we ended up using the hand towels. A bag of logs & kindling would have been nice for the open fire even if it was on an honesty box basis. We were also a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a welcome pack on arrival as we’ve had one in nearly every other place we’ve stayed & found this a nice touch. Having said all this, these are only minor observations. It was still a lovely property in a great location & would happily stay there again.

  • "Lovely clean, cozy, warm, spacious and comfortable property within a very short walk to the town amenities."

Beds were really comfortable. Plenty of kitchen utensils should you wish to cook. Lots of hot water. I'd read in a previous review about a smell. I can confirm there definitely is no smell. Only downfall there is no bath for tired legs after a long walk

Thank you for your comments, with regard to the old review you read concerning a smell, I was informed by the agents all old reviews had been removed from the website following our purchase and total refurbishment of the property. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Lovely bungalow."

Our only problem was with the back garden, there was no direct access to it from house which made it awkward for us with the dog. I also think it should be made clearer that the bungalow is at the top hill as this could be a problem for elderly people.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
