  • "We had a fantastic time at Sandacre cottage it's a beautiful, clean well designed cottage with all you could need."

The area in Bardsea is lovely we were at the beach several times a day with the children they loved it. Thanks for the card and wine we'd love to return one day. - highly recommended!

Oh that’s so lovely to hear, Thankyou! I do always try to keep the cottage as welcoming and homely as I can, renewing tired things when needed to keep things fresh ! Im glad you enjoyed your stay and so very kind of you to take the time to leave me a review, it really does help to keep my venture going. Hope you return again sometime! Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was as advertised."

It took us quite some time to find the password to the wifi.............who thinks to look in the guest book? There was a washing machine but no dryer , which made doing laundry a challenge. However the location was great and the property clean and well maintained. There was an inn close by the Ship Inn and we ate there more than once where the menu and service were both great and was frequented by locals.....always a good sign !!!

  • "Great property poorly managed."

We had questions the first day but couldn’t reach anyone from Sykes via phone or chat. So many basics missing— no hairdryer, no basic shower soap, or shampoo, no scrub brush or sponge at the sink, no detergent for laundry or dishwasher. There was one hand towel in the kitchen so hidden in a cabinet that we didn’t find it until the last day. If you’re going to charge a premium, you should not make us go buy all these things! Also, we appreciated that there was a washing machine, but since there is no dryer, some instructions on where we could line dry, our clothes would have been helpful. There is no place in the bathroom or outside. At the end of the day, most of my frustration could’ve been avoided if someone from Sykes had been available for customer support.

Please accept our deepest apologies, for your disappointment during your stay at Sandacre. And are sorry you could not get a reply from Sykes, my telephone number is in the guest book and I would have been more than happy to have explained where things were or popped round with anything you would of liked . Also I’m very sorry you didn’t find the supplies, I do like to leave the kitchen essentials under the sink in a caddy as I think it looks neater, included in there is a scrubber / sponge, cloth and washing up liquid, 8 dishwasher tablets and tea towels I only leave hand wash in the kitchen and bathroom . I wasn’t told by Sykes to leave shampoo ect but will consider this. Sandacre doesn’t have any outdoor space so guests use the clothes maid provided in the kitchen cupboard. If you do return to Sandacre please do contact me directly and I’ll be more than happy to help , I’m very keen to keep our high standards and would be very pleased if you booked again with us Kind regards Property Owner

1 The hinges on the D/G entrance door need adjustment. 2 the clear windows in the bathroom need either blind or opac film as it is possible you vould be seen from gardens or other properties. 3 the vertical shower rail needs tightening as whe. You move the head it comes out of the bracket.

The cottage was a perfect location and a bonus that is so stylish & comfortable. Loved the views of the Bay. Lovely quiet lanes with beautiful hedgerows for cycling. Garlic, bluebells & so many wildflowers. Walked from the door to Birkrigg common. 360 degree viwes from the trig point to the Lake District mountains & the lancashire coastline round to Blackpool Tower. Explore the coastline and find the small hidden carparks. Inland villages & lakes. Historic buildings & open churches. Visit Walney Island nature reserve, Piel Island, Gleaston Water mill & walk up to the castle. Canal Foot with it’s views across to the Cartmel peninsular & the railway aquaduct. Do visit the World Peace cafe & buddest temple at Conishead Priory. We plan to go back as there were so many other places to explore. Thank you.

You sound like you had a fabulous time , we love the location of Sandacre being so close to a walk on the beach and footpaths all around it’s a lovely little village with a great pub in walking distance . Away from the crowds in the lakes nice to enjoy a peaceful retreat . Thankyou for your kind words Property Owner

  • "The cottage is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay."

We had everything we needed and found it very comfortable. The views from the third floor room are amazing and we loved relaxing there and just taking time to chill. The cottage is beautifully decorated and a treat to stay in. It’s well situated for days out and we enjoyed having the beach at the end of the road. Husband moaned a bit about parking, but he has to have something to moan about and we did always get parked. Would we come back? Definitely in the drop of a hat.
