Nestled within the wonderful landscape of the Forest of Bowland AONB on the south side of Beacon Fell near Goosnargh, Lancashire, discover this charming group of single-storey holiday homes, Woodfold Lodges. Benefitting from light and airy open-plan interiors, off-road parking, lakeside views and private outdoor seating areas, as well as boasting two neatly-presented bedrooms with en-suites, Woodfold Farm Lodges are perfect for couples or groups of friends to relish the ultimate escape in the Ribble Valley. The properties also have access to a fantastic fishery; established by the Cornthwaite family over 35 years ago, it now boasts five individual lakes for fishing. For a quick refreshment or evening of quality conversation with loved ones, head to the local pub in Whitechapel, Cross Keys Inn, which is 1.7 miles away. Visit the village of Goosnargh, where you can find a handy convenience store, perfect for stocking up on the self-catering essentials, as well as The Stags Head, a charming pub where you and your group can enjoy some hearty fare and a cold beverage on the nights you don’t feel like cooking! Places away from the property, discover Beacon Fell Country Park, a lovely spot to embark on rural walks or delight in a picnic, before tackling Beacon Fell itself; from the summit, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views across the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. A short car journey away, in the city of Preston tour a range of exhibits at the Lancashire Infantry Museum, Harris Museum & Art Gallery. Also well-positioned here to spend the day in The Ribble Valley, visiting Clitheroe, the Roman settlement of Ribchester and some of the other lovely Ribble Valley villages, such as Waddington, Bolton by Bowland or cycle/walk the trails of Gisburn Forest. To the north of Woodfold, why not visit Garstang, a little market town with the street market held every Thursday. Lancaster is nearby and where you’ll find Lancaster Castle, the Lancaster City Museum or visit the beautiful Morecambe Bay. With easy access to the Lake District via the M6, Woodfold Farm Lodge is the perfect place to kickstart your Lancashire itinerary.
