"Lovely property great location and well mantained"
-
"Great stay at Becks Fold."
The house was lovely and we would definitely stay again, and thank you for the welcome basket of goodies.
-
"We have stayed at Becks Fold before & were really pleased to see that the cottage was just as lovely as when we previously visited 10 years ago!"
Very clean, well equipped & comfortable. Thank you for another great stay.

"Fabulous in every way."

"Photos do not do this place justice"

"This was our second time at the cottage."
Our party of 10 from age 2 to 84 found the cottage delightful and well equipped. The youngsters missed WiFi but got used to the idea of managing without it. It’s a wonderful peaceful location and we particularly loved being able to walk on footpaths to the lake, into Coniston and seeing the tiny lambs in the field next to the house. The mattresses were rather hard sadly and the House Book information needs updating on recycling but we enjoyed the underfloor heating and would love to return one day.

"Have stayed with Skye’s several places but this is the first time that the owner called me on the day I arrived to say there was no towels ."
On the Skyes information it’s says no tea towels and take your own beach towels. There was loads of tea towels and bedding but no towels. As the other guests had started their journey I had to take towels for 3 people. In the owners book it says no towels supplied. Very unusual and inconvenient on the day of travelling. The Sykes website details should say that if that is normal for this cottage
We are sorry for any inconvenience but had you contacted us no later than 48 hours prior to your arrival, as advised by Sykes this could have been avoided. This is to get the access details for the cottage and for you to ask any questions. As you had not contacted us we rang you on the morning of 3rd Nov when we advised with the exception of towels all linen including a good supply of tea towels were available for your stay. We have checked with Sykes regarding your reference to beach towels and they have confirmed their Tick list suggests guests take their own beach towels and any towels for pets even if the cottage description states bath towels are available. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at dancing beck ."
It was very well equipped. Loads to see in the surrounding area and to do for the little kids. Just one gripe the wi fi obviously we were out during the day because of the nice weather but I'll bet that's what is putting people off coming to your lovely cottage.
-
"Lovely family size home."
Clean and well equipped. Need mattresses on all beds replacing for a better night's sleep.
-
"Comfortable clean accommodation and very well equipped, convenient location with walks from the door."
Thank you for the very generous welcome pack. Had a very enjoyable stay at Becks Fold.
-
"Great place to stay."
Could do with more mugs for large party. Sofa bed very uncomfortable so not used. Very convenient to go to many places in lakes, and near to coniston. Lovely welcome pack.
-
"Becks Fold is in an ideal location for low level walks and swimming in Coniston, as well as the usual higher level walks."
There is a pub within 2 minutes walk, as well as Coniston village shops, restaurants and pubs within 10 minutes walk along the old railway line. There is very little need to use cars. The house is very well equipped, but there is no wi-fi. The landlord is easy to contact for help when needed.
-
"Great cottage in a nice area, couldn’t have asked for a better holiday."
-
"Excellent. A lovely cottage, in a great location with a warm welcome from the owners on arrival."
-
"Absolutely fantastic, very clean, had everything you needed if you forgot to pack it."
Games, books and DVDs. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

"Beautiful well equipped house in a great location"
-
"Amazing house they have thought of everything you need for your stay."
As regards cleanliness the house is immaculate. The area is nice and peaceful, with some lovely walks. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to hire.
-
"Wonderful stay, would highly recommend."
Well equipped, clean, very spacious and perfect location!
-
"Fully enjoyed our stay at Beck's Fold."
A lovely house with superb views. Short of nothing. Beyond all expectations.
-
"Becks Fold is a beautiful property in a great location within short walking distance of Coniston lake & village."
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just a shame it wasn’t longer!
-
"We stayed at Becks Fold for s short 4 day break."
We're a family of four with two kids aged 8 and 10. that wanted to explore the local area. Becks Fold is a lovely house, spacious, well furnished with everything your own house has. Spotlessly clean, in a quiet location by a brook, it really is an ideal home from home to spend a break. Thoroughly recommended.
-
"We travelled as three couples for our annual pre Christmas getaway, we were certainly not disappointed with Becks Fold the welcome pack was very much appreciated."
The house was large and comfortable with everything you needed apart from towels, obviously due to covid I presume. The beds were comfortable possibly a little soft for us after four nights though. The location is great as just a 10min walk into Coniston with the Ship Inn 2 min walk great welcome good traditional pub with great pub grub too. All in all a great few days at a lovely home and location, would definitely recommend and return soon hopefully.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Becks Fold."
The house was very clean and comfortable and the facilities were perfect for what we as a large group needed it for. It was very impressive with regard to the space it offered and the comfort of feeling very much at home. Everyone was impressed although there were a couple of comments that the single beds weren’t comfortable. There was also comments about the water pouring from the guttering during the night during heavy rain which kept them awake. I didn’t experience this but others in the party did. This didn’t distract from the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

"Perfect location and a perfect house ."
-
"It is a lovely location 0."
7 miles out of Coniston village. Very well equipped apart from needing a toilet brush and cleaner in each bathroom. One bathroom needs a heated towel rail.
We do not have toilet brushes as we do not consider them to be hygienic. All three bathrooms have heated towel rails. Property Owner

"Superb place to stay, everything you need is there."
Ideally located to explore the Lakes. We will definitely go back.
-
"What an absolute gem of a house!"
The accommodation was even better than expected! Rooms were extremely spacious and the whole house and garden were immaculate! The beck babbling along side the property was bliss to listen to. The location was great too! A five minute walk to the waters edge and a beautiful 15min stroll through fields and along the lake to Coniston village. Slightly shorter perhaps along the road side. Such a beautiful place to stay!
-
"Absolutely loved it!"
Beautiful and clean house with plenty of space and everything one could possibly need! 3 nights seem too short to fully enjoy the beautiful surroundings - we will definitely be back for longer! Thank you.
-
"The house was lovely, location excellent."
Our only disappointment was the lack of Wi-Fi. Not the end of the world but we did miss it! Other than that we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday cottage.
-
"Excellent location and a very nice house."
Well equipped, comfortable and clean. The owner and manager were extremely helpful. One drawback was the lack of WiFi, with Covid-19 requiring prebooking of so many things, WiFi would have made it a lot easier.
-
"Great place for a large family or a mixed group of family and friends."
Enough space for everyone to feel comfortable and have their own privacy.
-
"Great cottage, even better than pics show, really good size and great location with all facilities needed."
Really comfortable for whole family, kids loved it. Owner very responsive. This was our second visit to Coniston this cottage over 6 years and would definitely revisit next time.
-
"Lovely holiday cottage - well located, lovely rooms and lots of space."
There was a well equipped kitchen which is always a plus! We had a great weekend at Becks Fold.
-
"This house is great!"
Pictures don’t do it justice at all. The bedrooms are all large and lots of space. The lounge area and kitchen is cosy really homey, has a lovely feel to it.The garden was lovely and the views are great, the location is great love to be near the lake and use the local pub as well as the pubs in town. Highly recommend would stay here again.
-
"This house is amazing!"
The pictures online do not do it justice. It has everything available that you could possibly want and is well looked after, very clean and spacious. The scenery around it is also lovely, including a little stream running right next to it. I would definitely like to visit again in the future.
-
"The house is extremely spacious and very comfortable."
We had a fantastic family holiday. The hosts are also very helpful and easy to contact.
-
"The owners of the property were lovely and really helpful and so was the local lady who looks after the property on a day to day basis."
The property had great facilities and a brilliant location just ten minutes walk from the Coniston lakeside. There was some lovely walks and public footpaths from very close to the house. The property itself was clean and friendly with a lovely wood burner and supply of logs, as well as a jacuzzi bath. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere and all the essentials are provided including good quality washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, etc. We have stayed in the northern lakes many times (Derwentwater, Ullswater, etc) and this was our first time staying in the southern lakes. We found Coniston a little less touristy than the northern lakes which was great. Coniston has its own boating centre where you can hire all sorts of boats, paddle boards, kayaks etc. Grizedale forest is only 20 mins drive away (with lovely walks as well as Go-Ape etc). Windermere and Kendal are pretty close too. We highly recommend Becks Fold.

"I thought the house was absolutely lovely."
So warm and cosy with plenty of space for 7 of us and in such a good location. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and we all slept really well. The decorations and candles were a lovely addition and the hampers were a total festive surprise and very gratefully received. Steve the owner, went above and beyond our expectations.
-
"The location is perfect."
The house is very spacious and has everything you would need. We will definitely book this accommodation if we come back to lake district.
-
"The house is beautifully presented and extremely comfortable; the kitchen is very well equipped so it was an excellent venue for a family weekend get together."
The location is quiet and close to facilities and the mountains..We did feel that considering the price towels should be included, members of the family came by train so I ended up with a large pile of damp towels to take home... not the end of the world but having spent twenty years in the holiday cottage business ourselves we did wonder why! Members of the family would have also liked internet.

"Stayed at Becks Fold for a weeks break, weather was excellent which made a difference."
Becks Fold is a beautiful place to stay, the owner has thought and catered for everything you need while stopping there. The house is beautifully furnished and spacious so if there is a group of people staying you are not under each other feet. We had a minor issue at first but after contacting the owner this was sorted straight away with no further problems. We cannot recommend this place enough beautiful place to stay and gorgeous countryside, we will definitely be staying there again.
-
"This cottage is brilliant!"
It is filled with quality and was even better than expected when we arrived. It’s a great location for walks and a short walk to the pub and town. Great value and we will definitely be returning.
-
"Cottage was fantastic, lovely decor and facilities in idilic location."
Great for relaxing with friends, walks and exploring the lake district.
-
"The booking process was really simple, easy to use and quick."
The App is really useful also. House immaculate and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch.
-
"Becks Fold was an absolutely amazing place to stay."
We were welcomed with a beautiful basket of bread, cereal and wine. Everything is organised in such a thoughtful manner for guests to stay and self accommodate and catered comfortably. We had both my parents ( from the US), my in laws, my 9 month old baby and my 2 year old and my 2 sister’s ( from US) and my husband and I stay at the cottage. It comfortably accommodated us. It is very spacious. The cottage looked exactly like the photos but felt even bigger in person. The front of the house is not shown in the photos, so when you arrive it will look like a bungalow but the house is built on a lovely hill next to a Brooke. In the morning we would have coffee in the garden and listen to the water streaming down. Pure relaxation. The cottage comes with high chair, cot, kids toys, board games and garden games. We were blessed with lovely weather so we had a bbq one night! And you are a 2 min walk to Ships Inn a local pub. And a 10 min walk to the lake and you can see the sheeps graze as you stroll down. My kids loved it! It was our first time at the Lake District. Great location to drive to the Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth and Lake Windermere attractions and also great location to just stay in Coniston and enjoyed the lake. Everything was perfect and we surly will book again at this cottage as another family get together holiday. Thank you!
-
"This was the best holiday our family has ever had."
Becks Fold was amazing and had everything and more that we needed. I wish I could of spoken to the owners as they have done a terrific job in building the perfect home. Coniston is just a dream and if I could move there I would in a heartbeat. I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I would return there in the next couple of years and there would be only one place I would stay and that’s Becks How you can get such a perfect place is incredible and hats need to go off again to the owners. 10/10 holiday. I am getting emotional just writing this. Thank you. If there was something to change for the owners it would be the bin situation as the dustbin men never came and all the rubbish was in bags next to the wheelie bin. Perfect holiday perfect house perfect location just perfect
-
"Beautiful house, had everything we needed."
Would definitely recommend.
-
"I absolutely loved the location."
The house was fabulous. We didn't even miss a car as it was an easy walk to the shops, Lake and mountain/ sedentary walks.
-
"Becks fold is a beautiful house with everything you could need and in a great location ."
Just a 10 min walk to the centre of comiston .
-
"The Becks Fold Property far exceeds the Sykes description."
. It was a Fabulous, spacious, modern, well appointed property :D
-
"Very clean, spacious, tidy, good location from the center."
A complimentary welcome pack was provided which I thought was a very nice gesture.
-
"Great house in a very good place"
-
"This a superb property that is in a beautiful location, just a 10 minute stroll into Coniston village."
The owner was very informative and helpful, which made everything perfect for the family. Everything worked and was kept in very good order. Good fridge / cooking facilities / dishwasher / washing machine etc. etc. everything you could want on a mini family break. If I had to be ultra picky, and I really don't want to be, the only thing missing was wifi. With so may people there, 1 or 2 that still had to do a little work to do, so It would have helped and eased a little work frustration. I would definitely recommend this property, and possibly stay again in the future! For info - There were 8 adults and 1 child in the group.
-
"A group of us were in Coniston for the weekend - taking part in the Lakeland Trails challenge race on the Saturday."
The cottage was in a perfect location for getting to and from the start and finish. The degree of comfort for weary runners was lovely. We were all impressed by the attention to detail and the thought that had gone into equipping the whole place. Loved it!
