"Great place to stay very comfortable and great views"
-
"Property is perfect in every way."
Location, facilities, and cleanliness are all first class. Everything you need is in the property and more. We will definitely be booking again in the future.
-
"Lovely little flat ideally placed in the town for shops, restaurants etc."
Well equipped and maintained and I formed a close bond with "Alexa".
-
"Great apartment, we usually stay in the one next door."
Ideal location in Centre of Bowness. Perfect base for walking holiday or just relaxing around the Village. We will definitely book again.
-
"The property is very well equipped and in a very good location for all that Bowness has to offer."
The parking for the property needs allocating for each apartment as we had no parking available for the first two days that we were there and had to park on the lawn, and the one window in the main living room there is a huge gap which lets in a howling gail. Otherwise the flat has everything required for an excellent stay.
Thank you for your feedback. We are aware the windows need attention and hope to improve them in due course. Unfortunately occasionally there is unauthorised parking, which is difficult to police. Catherine Property Owner

"The toaster is broken and trips the electrics."
It needs replacing.
The toaster will be replaced ASAP. Thank you for letting us know. Property Owner

"This is the second time I have stayed at Fairview, the only holiday home I have booked twice."
Great location, very clean and exceptionally well equipped, apart from no corkscrew
We will make sure there is a corkscrew for your next visit!! Property Owner

"This is our 2nd time staying at Fairview, the first being a couple of years ago and I'm glad to say that it did not disappoint."
There were no signs of wear and tear which shows it has been well maintained. It is brilliantly located, although I am personally finding it harder to get up that hill due to poor mobility but I knew what I was letting myself in for
-
"Great location for all the facilities of Bowness."
The property could not be faulted. There is a bit of a climb to it which could be a slight problem for someone with limited mobility. Would definitely return.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! Catherine Property Owner

"Perfect location in the centre of Bowness which is exactly what we wanted close to all shops, bars, eateries and the lake."
The apartment had everything we needed and it was lovely and quiet, giving us the best of both worlds.

"Excellent short stay."
Location perfect, comfy, cosy and clean. Couple of small things required to give it 5 star.Extra toilet roll, kitchen roll, hand wash and identification of the keys. Would be happy to stay here again.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed your stay. We plan always to have kitchen roll, extra toilet roll and hand wash available: this needs checking. Thank you for the heads up. Catherine Property Owner

"The property was in good condition and really clean."
Beds were comfy and bed linen and towels were good quality. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and tableware. There was only 1 toilet role provided for 4 adults 2 night stay, after searching the apartment to no avail we had to shop on our arrival for more. 4 pm check in and 10 am check out times limit what your are able to do on arrival and departure days and resulted in having to set an alarm clock to be up in time to shower and have breakfast and finish packing to vacate the apartment by 10 which isn’t ideal when on a relaxing break.

"Fantastic well maintained property, we enjoyed every minute of our stay, located well for everything and good parking for our car."
Only one bad point, nobodies fault but the TV control for the lounge had been knicked and the bedroom TV was useless we could not get it working and neither could the man that came out to them. The dog was rather suprisingly well behaved, and slept in his crate on his own bedding. I definately will stay again and would reccomend it to anyone that requires information on the place

"I was a single occupant, but it is an ideal property for four."
Great location for walking, with a couple of interesting local walks, including Orrest Head for days when the legs are tired. Bowness is busy but very friendly. The property is airy, spacious and well equipped. I have been lucky enough to stay with Sykes a few times, but this is my favourite to date.

"We had an excellent stay."
The property was warm, cosy and well equipped. The location was also very good with the centre within a very short (but quiet) distance.
-
"Lovely little apartment on the second floor of Kerris House (first house on the left as you pull into the drive parking round the back) with views of the lake and hills."
Really handy for Bowness itself. Parking was easy and literally on the door step. Would gladly stay here again.
-
"Excellent location and a very well equipped property, everything was nice, clean and fresh feeling, couldn't ask for more really."
-
"The location was ideal for exploring the lakes."
Shops and pubs where within easy walking distance. The kitchen had plenty of pans, cutlery and crockery but was lacking in cooking utensils, particularly sharp knives, With regards to cleaning it was disappointing to find an easy to see item t had been left on the floor and a plastic clip on a windowsill which we disposed of, also on moving the sofa to sit around the table we found the floor to be dusty underneath. In the bathroom hairs had been left in the bath. We all felt the property although generally clean would benefit from a deep clean including the communal areas. It would have made our stay easier if the 4 keys provide were labelled clearly to which door they unlocked.

"Lovely apartment that is going through some modernisation which is looking really good."
It's also in a great location in bowness, would definitely go back. Only negative for me was there is a lack of utensils for cooking, no knives, spatulas etc which made things a little more difficult.
reply-icon Thank you for your helpful comments! I think the items you couldn’t find are there, but unfortunately in a separate drawer which is not immediately obvious. I intend to rectify this state of affairs when I visit next month. Kind regards Catherine Preston (owner) Property Owner

"The property is lovely and an ideal location."
The only criticism and it's a small one is that there are no sharp knives (cooking) and no tin opener or corkscrew that we could find, so if you're planning on cooking some meals you may need to bring some with you. If needed there is a cookware shop just on the main road.

"Apartment was lovely and cozy and well situated."
A steep walk up to it caused some issues for my 83 year old dad but we managed. Well equipped but no bottle opener / can opener or knives for prepping veg. Beds were very comfortable and we did thoroughly enjoy our stay.

Excellent location. Plenty to see and do for all the family. The perfect home from home.

"Well positioned flat with easy parking."
The flat was well stocked with kitchen equipment both large & small . The bedrooms were clean & comfortable with nice thick towels. The bath was very high to get into & out of the shower but it was powerful & hot. We couldn’t fault anything and thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

The property
This attractive first-floor apartment rests in the popular town of Bowness-on-Windermere in the South of the Lakeland District, close to the tranquil waters of Lake Windermere.
The location is most enjoyable – only a short stroll to both lake and village and yet far enough off the village centre to have a feeling of quietness.
The open-plan living area is sure to become the social point of the apartment, offering a plush sofa where you can relax in front of the TV or take in the pleasant view over the village towards the lake and Claife Heights.
Just behind is an L-shaped kitchen with stylish fixtures and fittings, as well as a good range of utensils and appliances for you to make the most of when you’re not exploring eateries at your doorstep.
For a peaceful end to the day, relax in the double bedroom, a snug place to read a good book or reminisce over your afternoon.
There is also a twin room which is perfect for children, as well as a contemporary bathroom with bath and shower over.
There are good walks in the area including the Dales Way which starts close-by, whilst those who climb Orrest Head will be rewarded with one of the finest views in the whole Lake District.
The Windermere ferry carries cars to the other side of the lake, handy for Hawkshead, Coniston and visits to Beatrix Potter's home at Sawrey.
The charming destination of Kendal with its castle ruins, the Brewey Arts centre and a wide selection of shops are also nearby, plus the outdoor opportunity at Grizedale Forest is a must-visit, with a number of cycling and mountain biking trails, segway courses and zip-wire adventures.
Avid walkers can look forward to exploring the peak of Claife Heights and the famous Old Man of Coniston, with glorious lakes views and industrial remnants.
Fairview is a very well-placed apartment from which to explore the whole of the Southern Lakes, for a family holiday never to be forgotten.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
