  • "I booked the cottage for my husband’s 50th birthday present."

We have stayed in the area numerous times and the location of the cottage didn’t disappoint! Great that you have parking as well. The cottage is compact but has everything that you need for your stay. The bed is super comfy and the fluffy towels an added bonus! Little touches like the hot water bottles, umbrellas and torch made it feel extra homely. Yes the shower isn’t the best but the bath is great for a long soak after walking. I would have no hesitation to book the cottage again.

Thank you for your feedback and so pleased you enjoyed celebrating your husbands 50th birthday at Fellside cottage. We hope to welcome you back soon again :) Property Owner

The property

A gloriously romantic, traditional Lakeland cottage only a stone’s throw from the heart of bustling Bowness.

The owners of this property have undertaken a superb renovation, retaining the cottage’s original features and complimenting them with fine furnishings and appliances.

The sitting room at Fellside Cottage is a haven of comfort and charm.

Old oak beams and lintels, feature fireplace with woodburning stove, welcoming leather sofa and generous armchair make this a room guests won’t want to leave.

A pretty picture window with window seat is a place to sit and daydream.

The kitchen with breakfast bar is planned to perfection, while for more leisurely dining a table and chairs occupy a half landing and garden room with doors to the patio garden and outside area with stone-built summerhouse.

Upstairs the beautiful bedroom with hand-painted furniture and gloriously comfortable King-sized bed is set off by a pretty picture window which floods the room with light.

The separate bathroom is stylish and modern, with shower over the bath, basin and wc.

While the cottage brings a sense of peace and solitude, Bowness itself offers a wide choice of independent shops, restaurants and coffee bars.

The Royalty Cinema and Old Laundry Theatre showcase a cultural side to the village, while sport fanatics will find plenty of opportunities to make the most of the lakeside location.

Windermere Golf Club is only a few minutes away, and a car ferry regularly transports visitors across the lake to Grizedale Forest.

Please note: Strictly no car charging at the property, there are rapid electric car charging points located at Booths In Windermere approx 1 mile away from the property. Alternatively there are others located around the area.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
