• "I booked the cottage for my husband’s 50th birthday present."

  We have stayed in the area numerous times and the location of the cottage didn’t disappoint! Great that you have parking as well. The cottage is compact but has everything that you need for your stay. The bed is super comfy and the fluffy towels an added bonus! Little touches like the hot water bottles, umbrellas and torch made it feel extra homely. Yes the shower isn’t the best but the bath is great for a long soak after walking. I would have no hesitation to book the cottage again.

• "The property was absolutely lovely, clean, private and very well maintained."

  It was in precisely the right location and the lively local pubs etc did not bother us at all. I have always been impressed with the Sykes standard of properties but this one was exceptional for sure.

• "Beautiful, quirky cottage in a fantastic location, minutes from Bowness centre."

  We liked the parking facility, our car never moved for a week! Lots of local buses very close by to access lots of places .The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with utensils etc. The welcome basket was a nice touch. Good WiFi access. One suggestion would be to change the wardrobe and drawers in the bedroom as some drawers were very stiff to open so we couldn't really use and the wardrobe very small, especially with a weeks' worth of clothing to store. All in all we had a lovely week and will be back again! Thank you

We have been debating whether to change the wardrobe for the reasons you mentioned, but as some guests like the quirkiness of the “dolls house furniture”, we decided to keep it. • "Picturesque little cottage very close to Bowness-On-Windermere only a few minutes walk to shops, pubs, restaurants and the lake."

  Also has the advantage of an off road parking space which is a must for us. Extremely comfortable bed!!

• "When we chose Fellside cottage for our holiday this year we were looking for somewhere within walking distance of Bowness and the lake."

  This lovely little cottage ticked those boxes and so much more! On arrival we we found this hidden gem up a partially obscured driveway, you would never know it was less than five minutes walk from town when sitting in the small but perfectly maintained garden. The cottage itself has been beautifully decorated and equipped with every need. We loved staying there and hope to return, we would definitely recommend Fellside to anyone visiting the Lakes.

• "I loved Fellside Cottage."

  I hadn’t appreciated when I booked just how close it was to the lovely town of Bowness. It is the perfect location. The cottage is finished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. We made full use of the wood burning stove as it was a chilly week so we were lovely and warm. The one thing I would say, although it didn’t bother us at all, is perhaps the cottage description should mention that the driveway up to the cottage is very narrow and steep. Some larger cars may struggle to enter and also people with mobility issues might find the driveway challenging. We had a fabulous week in the Lakes and would definitely book Fellside Cottage again

• "The cottage was absolutely first class and a credit to the owners."

  Full of character and we were extremely comfortable for the week that we spent there. Loads of home comforts are provided and the welcome pack is a nice touch too. The location couldn't really be any better either and we will definitely be looking to return in future.

• "Fellside Cottage is in the perfect location for Bowness."

  Quiet but very near all amenities. The Cottage is a perfect size for a couple to use. The kitchen is compact but big enough for meal prep. The bedroom is a nice size but the storage space was limited with the wardrobe being hard to use. Probably would benefit from less ornaments, though they do add charm. The bathroom is great, roomy and light, though the shower is not as powerful as it would ideally be.

• "The property, location and cleanliness were all amazing."

  The slight gripe was the water pressure to the shower I was smushed into the corner to try and get under the shower as the water pressure didn’t allow it to shoot further. Other than that the amenities and everything about the cottage was great. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

We will certainly investigate your comment about the water pressure with the shower, but must mention in hot weather and extreme heat like we are experiencing at present, the heat can have an impact on the water pressure which may cause it it to dip or reduce. • "It was lovely."

  The cottage was nice and the location was perfect, just a very short walk to the lake, with Restaurants and supermarket 2 minute walk away. However, we found it difficult to get downstairs living room warm. In the end, we used the fireplace and that was fine.

• "Just returned from our 2nd stay at Fellside Cottage and again it didn’t disappoint."

  The cottage is beautiful, in a fantastic location and the comfiest bed I’ve slept in (what is the mattress?!) The cleanliness is spot on, props to whoever does the cleaning, it’s immaculate! Lovely gesture of a Christmas card, wine and chocs was provided on arrival by Sylvia, much appreciated. Sylvia goes above and beyond supplying all cleaning products, kitchen roll, toilet roll etc which is a great touch and not always provided with other rental properties. We’ll definitely be back for a 3rd visit.

• "This was an absolute gem Just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town, everything was really well thought of a credit to the owners."

  The only thing was the heating it kept turning itself down on the manual setting so was a-bit chilly for July. So I I wish now I’d have just lit the log burner but didn’t seem right in July, That’s the Only thing. The area itself is spot on for every thing lots of fine places to eat and drink The Albert for one and ample farm shops around to . We will deffo be back to fellside x

Everything is on the doorstep , but you are still out of the way.The cottage itself is in true cottage style with quality fixtures and fittings, and the garden is another great bonus.   Beautifully presented, excellent features, amazingly comfy bed, new smart radiators everywhere, belting log burner, beautiful stone summerhouse, even a cupboard of books & games …with ample parking for my pick-up … & then only 100m from the centre of Bowness! & only 200m from Porto restaurant!!! Perfection in a quaint romantic cottage! It is a true credit to the owner! We loved our stay & will be booking Fellside cottage again, if it’s not already booked up!?!

• "I was extremely pleased on arrival to find the cottage so well stocked with kitchen equipment, plates, mugs, cutlery etc."

  It's a very homely cottage for 2 with lots of extras - books games cute ornaments - which we were not expecting from the description in the brochure but we were still happy to book. Don't under sell the amenities there nor the position so convenient to Bowness centre particularly useful when you have wet days!

  Only ral down side was the bed mattress was very uncomfortable - old fashioned pring mattress and you could feel every single spring! - think it needs replacing

• "We have stayed in this cottage before and enjoyed it just as much."

  Some updates and improvements have been made to a high standard and there is everything that you could need. I would just say that it was a little cold in the living room sometimes and you can’t alter the heating but I did find an electric heater in the cupboard, some people may not be aware of this and it might be a good to put a note somewhere about this.

• "The description of the cottage was not entirely accurate, as it did not state that the cottage was part of 3 cottages."

  If this was made clear I probably would not have booked. However the cottage itself was lovely, but the chimney needs to be swept we could not manage the fire properly. Also the rug in the lounge needs to be cleaned.

We do not in anyway hide the cottage description, as you can see in the first picture it is an end terraced cottage. Also in the description we do stipulate 'a driveway leads to this select set of terraced cottages with parking right outside your door'. Sorry if this was not clear enough though. Although it is an end terraced cottage we feel it is quite secluded and private anyways, we hope you found this too. The owner has been made aware about the chimney and the chimney is cleaned annually. Regarding the rug this was clean but had to be removed by the cleaning team when the cottage was serviced on her departure. We are otherwise glad to hear you had a lovely week. Property Owner
