"We've had a lovely, relaxing week staying in your beautiful comfortable, cosy cottage- thank you!"
Loved the decor and special little touches! It was perfect for a 'home away for home' stay- we visited Fell Foot- beautiful walk by the lake, as wall as Coniston, Bowness on Windermere for shopping and Windermere for some local art, Jeff Sudders really captures the calm ambience so beautifully of the area. Having visited the Lake District many times with my family as a child, it was lovely to return after a 40 year hiatus with my own family- lovely memories of a very special place.

"Really enjoyed our holiday in your lovely cottage."
Really warm and welcoming. Superb beds! Beautiful garden, gorgeous views!
-
"The cottage was comfortable and in a good, quiet location but close to all required amenities and a good base for touring the Lake District."
The interior is pleasantly decorated, the side conservatory overlooking the garden is lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The garden has plenty of furniture in various locations and overlooks Windermere and we had a clear view of a Lancaster flying up the lake on one day as well as several jets over the week. As other have said, the cleaner was still there at 16:30 when we first arrived, not a major issue as the cottage was presented in clean and tidy state. Unfortunately I inadvertently left a fleece at the property but the owners made every effort to return it to me and wouldn't accept any payment for post and packaging, much appreciated.
Delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Greenstyles. I have emailed you directly to see if we can find and return the item of clothing. Property Owner

"Excellent and well equipped / furnished cotttages with amazing views!"

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Greenstyles and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

"Lovely stay at Greenstyles."
Very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Loved the garden and conservatory. Due to our four legged friend who is very inquisitive the garden being fully enclosed would have been perfection. Sad to leave, would love to return. Thank you!
-
"Thank you for renting us your beautiful cottage."
We loved our stay. It felt like home. Nice visits to Bowness and Ambleside but enjoyed our time in the garden the most. We will be back.
-
"What's not to like about Greenstyles!"
We loved the house, decor, facilities & views. The huge garden was perfect for our dog. The house is located in a really quiet area yet only 10 minutes to Ambleside. The weather wasn't the best so never got to use the great garden furniture but enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory. We will without a doubt book to stay here again. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful house.
Lovely to hear how much you liked the cottage and we'd be delighted to welcome you back again. Property Owner

"Charming cottage, well equipped and clean."
We settled in straight away and found the beds comfortable and always managed a good sleep. The bathroom is of good size, his and her sinks, with a superb walk in shower. Our mini dachshund enjoyed exploring the large matured garden and playing fetch. Also enjoyed views from the garden of the fighter jets flying over lake Windermere. We found the location peaceful and ideal to get down to the lake but also to explore other nearby areas. Ambleside, Rydal, Grasmere, Ullswater, Penrith, Catbells, Keswick, Kendal. For the chilled out day, where weather was against us, we made use of the smart TV and logged into our Netflix or Prime accounts. Dominos in Bowness on Windermere will deliver if you really don't want to venture out. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and holiday. We would definitely recommend Greenstyles.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Great to hear how much you enjoyed the cottage and how well placed you found it to explore the lakes. Property Owner

"Great property, a real home from home with a beautiful large garden which the kids and dog enjoyed immensely."
Parking was an issue for two medium sized cars and No on street parking available really tight and awkward. Although we had a very nice holiday and would recommend the property we did get off to a bad start. After a long drive and arriving at the property for 4pm the cleaner was still at the property and made us wait 25 minutes with nowhere to park, very frustrating.
Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and sorry to hear that the cleaner was still at the cottage when you arrived. This should not have happened and thank you for alerting us. On road parking is permitted, but shouldn't be necessary as in addition to the two off street spaces on the driveway, there is a third off street parking space accessed through the gate (opposite the garage). In the circumstances we'd have expected the cleaner to move her car so that you could park, welcome you into the cottage and make you a pot of tea! Apologies again that this didn't happen. "We loved our week in Greenstyles."
Such a stunning property in a unique setting, off the beaten track with views over Lake Windermere. Ideally located for excursions. Immaculately appointed, very clean, comfortable, well-equipped property. We would not hesitate in coming back. Thank you for an incredible week!
Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed staying at the cottage and hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

"We have stayed here previously over New Year and now this past week."
The cottage is in a perfect location and very convenient for access to the centre of Bowness and surrounding areas, with plenty of lovely restaurants and bars. The views from the cottage are a real bonus being able to see the lake from the upstairs windows and garden. The layout of the property is ideal with separate areas to relax, the kitchen kitted out with everything we needed and a lovely dining area. Perfect if you have woofs, with great walks and a huge garden to run around in. Our only slight niggle was the noise from the building work taking place at the property next door, which didn’t affect us whilst we were inside the cottage, but would have definitely been a bigger problem for us during warmer weather if we had wanted to spend time sat in the garden. Overall, a lovely place and hope to be back.
-
"Amazing cottage, it felt like home as it was very comfortable and cosy."
The views are perfect and fudge loved running in the garden. There are great places to walk and to get food. Thank you!
-
"Loved Greenstyles, really clean, cosy and great location."
Will be booking again for the summer!

"Cottage was very well presented and equipped."
It was well furnished and very clean and tidy. The area was very quiet and scenic. Would book again.

"Fabulous cottage!"
All we could have wanted. So cosy too with beautiful views. Wasn’t keen on the smell in the utility, as you walk in the front door. Not sure if it had been freshly painted. But smelt funny!
-
"Excellent cottage and very well designed and comfortable."
No negatives!! Make sure you visit Aira Fall. Nearest to the river you will ever get.
-
"What an amazing cottage!"
So beautiful and well situated, as well as comfortable and a home from home. Fantastic days out especially Aira Force Falls and Troutbeck - Ambleside, and The Brown Horse Pub is a must! Thank you.
-
"We have had a wonderful week and love the cottage with it's amazing garden & views."
Enjoyed some walks from the doorstep including one with a stop off at The Brown Horse. Amazing food & service at The Boardwalk Bar & Grill in Bowness. The children enjoyed the walk and dip at Rydal and we found Honister Slate Mine & the Puzzling Place, a great way to pass a rainy day. Sad to be leaving & we hope to be back.
-
"Fantastic property, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend staying here."
The cottage is cosy and has everything you’ll need. It’s in a good location and has a great view and garden. We really enjoyed our stay here.

"This is a lovely cottage set in the heart of the Lake District, lovely garden."
Unfortunately for us there is major building works going on next door making sitting outside during the day impossible. Cleanliness could be much improved and it lets this lovely cottage down. also there are no bin bags or other items one might expect to be available in the cottage. Lack of a welcome pack or anything to welcome visitors after a long journey just feels unwelcoming, a small detail but I feel that these things matter. Most rental properties provide a welcome pack so clearly it not only me that feels this is important.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased that you liked our cottage. Obviously we are disappointed that on this occasion the cleanliness did not meet its usual high standards, as evidenced by our usual 100% scores, as this is an area that we take very seriously. Bin and food bin liners, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, hand soap, tea towels, hand towels (in addition to hand and bath towels for each guest), logs and firelighters (for two fires) are all made available for each stay and we will liaise with housekeeping as to why some of these items were missing on your stay. We have consciously decided not to provide a welcome pack of food/ drink items given the difficulty of catering for the preferences, dietary requirements and allergies of different guests. Also this is reflected in our prices which we have kept as reasonable as possible and not passed on energy and other increases. Sorry to hear that noise from the building work down the road impacted your enjoyment of the garden and we will pass this on to the owner of that property. We hope to welcome you back in the future. "Lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location!"
It was perfect for our stay in the Lakes, with plenty of space for our two adult sons to join us. The only thing extra we could have asked for was full-length hanging space, as we were in the Lakes for a wedding and had a dress and smart coats with us!
Thank you for your lovely comments, we are so pleased to see that you had a lovely stay. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner
-
"Perfect base for exploring this side of The Lake District."
Lovely to come back to peace and tranquillity after the 'touristy' areas of Bowness & Windermere. We have been blessed with fine weather, allowing us to be out and about each day. Thank you.
-
"Many, many years spent in The Lakes, always good to add another fab cottage to the list, thank you."
-
"Green styles is absolutely beautiful ,we had an amazing stay the cottage is very comfortable and has all the facilities that you need ."
the location is perfect to the nearby town and the views from the cottage are stunning. the owners were super helpful with info and returning an item that we left. we would defiantly stay again and would not hesitate to recommend a beautiful stay thank you

"Greenstyles is a lovely property and we had a nice stay however: This is the first time we have ever arrived at a holiday cottage without any welcome tray (no welcome note, no milk in the fridge) - given what we paid, we found that surprising and unwelcoming."
There was no wood for the wood burner despite it being included in the price. There were no dishwasher tablets. There was food left behind in the cupboard. There were no food caddy liners. Finally, and most importantly, shortly after arriving, we found out that the owners sometimes stay at the property with their dog. The property is advertised as pet-free so this is totally unacceptable without a warning on the website. We would NEVER have booked this property had we known. Perhaps someone from Lakelovers will phone us to discuss this?
Thank you for your feedback; great that you enjoyed your stay and liked the cottage - and thanks for the 100% scores for cleanliness, comfort and facilities. We love to welcome people to the cottage (and hopefully provide a warm welcome in the note in our guest information folder) but have found that it is difficult to cater for all tastes (and allergies) by providing a welcome pack. We do however tend to leave some essentials in a cupboard - tea bags, sugar, condiments etc. Thank you for informing us that on this occasion, the changeover staff had not left any dishwasher tablets - this should not have happened and we have taken it up with them. Although not stated in the listing, our practice is to leave logs, kindling and firelighters sufficient for two fires, in the log basket in the sitting room. We do state in the listing that "the owners do stay at the property with their dog (please be mindful if you have a pet allergy)". Sorry you missed this. Unfortunately we don't take guest pets to ensure that the changeover cleaning staff can present the cottage each week to a very high standard of cleanliness (with the only trace of our dog's occasional visits being the sign on the gate!). "Beautiful well equipped cottage."
Perfectly positioned for a relaxing stay, so peaceful and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in and would have no hesitation recommending to others. Thank you, hope to return soon. Angela

"Thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage."
It is perfectly situated for all our favourite walks and very well equipped too. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

"Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and well equipped in a perfect location."
Great views and an ideal location for visiting Bowness, Windermere and The Lakes generally. We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly return.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback on your stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Greenstyles and the Lake District. Property Owner

"We enjoyed a lovely week at Greenstyles."
The house was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was very well equipped. We would of appreciated more than 1 tea towel for the week but it wasn’t the end of the world. The house is perfectly situated to explore all around the lake. The lake is only a short drive or a moderate walk away. The garden is just beautiful as are the views from the house. We were so lucky with the weather and made the most of the amazing outdoor space. The only thing we found irritating (which is not anything to do with the property) was the parking. You have to pay for parking everywhere you go which can be quite costly.

Fabulous cottage with great facilities in a fantastic location. Would absolutely stay again!

"Stunning cottage, well appointed, tastefully furnished."
We had fabulous weather so could have done with a brolly for the garden. Very much a home from home
Thank you for your great feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we are pleased to say that we have just added some new garden dining furniture which includes a brolly. We also have a swing seat to take in the view! Hope to see you back for a third visit some time. Property Owner

"This was a beautiful property - really well finished and furnished and the views were breathtaking!"
Cosy living room good for snuggling up in, spacious comfy bedrooms, and an amazing shower in the bathroom. My only criticism would be that the TV is not smart, and so we could not get Netflix or any streaming service on it. We couldn't find a HDMI cable or DVD player either, so we weren't really able to watch tv or films, which was a bit sad in the evenings. However, it did make us read our books and play more games, so if you don't mind unplugging it isn't a massive issue. Other than that the facilities and location were amazing, and we would definitely stay here again!
Thank you for your fantastic feedback on our cottage and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have taken onboard your comment re the TV and have just installed the latest Samsung Smart TV. This will give easy access to all the usual apps and streaming services including of course Netflix (for account holders). We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

"We had the most amazing stay at Greenstyles."
The cottage was perfect and so homely we all felt so sad leaving that we have already booked again for next year. The beds and sofa's are so comfy, the bathroom is lovely, it is so cosy and beautifully decorated it really is home from home. We didn't really get a chance to spend time in the huge garden but the views of the garden can be seen all around the cottage. Cannot wait to go back in Spring 2022! Mark and Kate Collins

"We had a lovely stay!"
The cottage was cosy and we loved the stay. Could do with a smart TV but other than that perfect. Would stay again.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback after your recent stay at Greenstyles. Just to update you that the old 'Smart' TV and freesat box have now been replaced with the latest Samsung Smart TV which gives ready access to various streaming services and apps including of course Netflix (for account holders). We hope we can welcome you back to Greenstyles in the future. Many thanks Property Owner

"The cottage was really lovely and in a perfect location, close to Bowness but isolated enough that it was really quiet throughout the day."
It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for a week's stay. The garden is beautiful and well kept, really enjoyed my morning coffee. Highly recommend this cottage as a good base for exploring the lakes and spending time with friends/family.
-
"Greenstyles was the most perfect property and getaway, it was a real home from home that was spotlessly clean and exceeded expectation."
It is beautifully decorated and the photos really don’t do it justice. It is quiet in a rural setting with amazing walks from the doorstep and yet only minutes from the shops and town. It is really well equipped with everything you need and even had sharp knives which from experience is rare in a rental property. If you are looking for a luxury Lake District getaway the. You really won’t find anything better, we can’t wait to return.
-
