"Booked a 7 night stay at Quarry Rigg, High Rigg Apartment, 4th-11th August."
Arrived to find the apartment dirty and unclean, items broken, not working, no hot water for a day, childrens bedroom window would not shut or secure, and settee in disrepair. The apartment had not been maintained or cleaned, but that was only the start of my problems as the after care was even worse. I was informed that the owner had been notified once I reported the problems on the very first day (fri 4th) and was promised daily that cleaners would attend, but they did not come until Wednesday 9th. We had to stay in first night so that mainentance could look at the hot water. It had been turned off at the mains so couldnt have a bath, or shower, or wash hands with warm water until the following day. It has also transpired looking at reviews of the property that the other issues i reported were known to the owner a couple of months before our stay so there is clearly no regard to resolve these before renting it out. I would be very concerned for people wanting to stay with young toddlers as the window in the spare room is dangerous especially as this is not ground floor accommodation.

"I have given the property 4 star plus knowing that it is a work in progress for the new owner and once completed would definitely be a 5."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all amenities are on the doorstep.

"High Rigg is a lovely sunny appartment."
I like the scandi style furnishings and the balcony which lets in more light. The appartment is well equipped and was lovely to return to after my days sailing on the lake. It is well sound proofed between appartments and there was no noise from outside. The location is ideal and very close to the coop and local resteraunts. My suggestions for improvement are: 1 Clean the balcony doors and windows because they do not reflect the rest of the appartment but at what you see first when you go to look at the view. 2 Improve the information in the file on using the TV and the internet. I couldn't' get the tv working on the first evening without googling the signal issue, running a diagnosis and then reconecting it to the internet when I eventually found the little card with the code on at 10pm. 3 Make it clear how to warm the water using the switch in the hall and the one in the kitchen I would go back again and know the owner responds to feedback because a new matress arrived while I was there to replace the wonky one identified by previous customers.

"The double bed mattress is faulty."
The bathroom sink is loose and the sofa is losing its surface. Other than that it's great.

"The oven and grill wouldn't turn on so had to use the ring tops."
Couldn't turn the heat of the water up so my dad could have a bath. He has had bowel cancer twice and the only relief at the end of the day is to soak in a bath which is why we booked the apartment. This was disappointing. On a very positive note, the location was great. The apartment was like being home away from home. Patio doors looking out on to mountains, ideal way to start and end the day.

"Great property in a fantastic location but needs a little bit of updating."
The double mattress has collapsed on side at window and needs replacing. The couch is peeling and lets down the living area. While there is an ironing board there is no iron, bedside lamp not working and a dressing mirror would be a good addition. We did enjoy our stay and aware you have recently acquired the property and overall we really enjoyed the stay - new mattress would make a world of difference as neither myself or my wife slept well but our sons both slept very well in the twin room.
I have just acquired the property and your comments are well received . A systematic upgrading programme will be undertaken over the next few months and a radical change will be observed in context. The property is well placed and all the observations will be met .Thank you for staying and hope to see you again Property Owner
