True Luxury. A great location, close to the town, restaurants and of course the Lake. We don't usually stay in the same place again, but will be back to this one.

  • "Absolutely fantastic."

Can’t fault the house. Perfect location with free parking, really well equipped, we couldn’t fault a thing. Beds were really comfortable, showers great, good quality linens, loads of outside space. Owners were easy to contact if needed. Would highly recommend.

  • "Amazing stay… Well worth the price!"

Stayed at Mayfair House in Feb 2024, after a recent refurbishment. House was in immaculate condition, with high spec finish and lovely interior style. Clearly had a lot of investment into it. Great location (although a little uphill), close to all Bowness has to offer, including myriad of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Perfect base to explore all Lake District has to offer too. Activities for families nearby too, we went to Beatrix potter world, long walks, boat trips. Aquarium, Brockholes activity centre and so much more…  Hosts were really great, useful, informative without being over-bearing. Really friendly and super responsive.  Lots of glass in house, so watch out if you have young children but no problem with our 4 year old & she’s not an angel.  Would recommend this house to anyone, and will definitely be staying again.  Thanks for having us

  • "This place is just amazing."

No expense has been spared during the refurbishment and it meets the highest standards. My family had the most amazing break and we will definitely be back.

  • "We had such a great stay at Mayfair House."

It was probably one of the nicest Air BB we have stayed in, super Luxury from the furnishings, bedding/towels and everything you could ask for was provided. It was really spacious yet so cosy. It was also immaculate !  The location was excellent only a few mins from the high street and the lake.  Rebecca and Phil were quick to respond to my questions and provided so much valuable info on what we could do during our stay. Although we went in feb when it was slightly wet and overcast it was so nice to relax in the properly with the fire on and we had a really good chilled get away. Wouldn’t hesitate to book one of their property’s again!

  • "Wow! Absolutely stunning property which is even better than the photos, you must visit if you are looking for complete luxury."

We stayed at Mayfair house and it was pristine when we arrived, absolutely spotless and faultless!  You can tell that the house has been furnished to a very high standard with no expense spared, the house also had everything you could possibly need and more! Everything is just perfect, we were blown away. I would like to call out the little extras that made us smile, we didn’t expect these but they made our stay so much more special;  Gifts on arrival and a personalised note wishing me a happy 30th birthday! The log Burner, the Sonos sound system (makes for an amazing movie night we actually rented a film and felt like we were at the cinema), Nespresso machine with pods, blankets on the sofa to snuggle up and feel at home! Led mirrors in the bathrooms (amazing for doing makeup ladies!) heated flooring in the bathrooms and towel heaters!  Can’t wait to return!

  • "This place was amazing from start to finish, peaceful, relaxing, private."

The property is of a very high standard and fully equipped for all our needs. I would be interested in prices for aug/sep for 1 week if you could forward them for me. Only tiny issue for me was that at 5 foot I did not see the signs saying ‘mind the step’ and fell down heavily twisting my knee. Perhaps lower the sign onto the door or highlight the step as the floor blends into the bedroom floor. Please do not see this as negative, we had a wonderful time. Thank you so much.

  • "Mayfair House truly is a phenomenal holiday home in a fantastic location in Bowness."

The house is a credit to Rebecca & Phil, who have clearly put their heart & souls into creating something very special. From start to finish, the communication process with them was faultless, and they even messaged us with ideas on where to eat, things to do & the best recommended local walks prior to arrival. Having stayed in numerous holiday homes throughout the UK over the years, Mayfair House easily goes straight into our Top 3 & possibly even takes top spot. The house comes equipped with all the mod cons you could possibly need, & the location is perfect to enjoy all that the wonderful town of Bowness has to offer. The photos honestly don't do the place justice, & if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Lake District, I would highly recommend booking Mayfair House or one of Rebecca & Phil's sister properties. We will be back & have already booked our next visit. 10/10.

  • "Mayfair House exceeded all expectations."

The pictures on the site certainly do not do it justice. Top quality fittings everywhere, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, lounge and garden.  We have never stayed anywhere that has so many utensils etc.  we only used the wood burner once but it was easy to use and threw out plenty of heat. We had a small problem with some of the lighting in the lounge but that was corrected whilst we were out that day.  The gate at the bottom of the garden meant that it was a short (although steep) walk into the centre of the town.  Overall a fabulous place to stay in Bowness and we will definitely be back.

  • "My Husband & I recently had the pleasure of returning to one of the properties, and this time we were lucky enough to experience the excellent Mayfair House."

The house has been impeccably renovated to an extremely high standard. The accommodation is on a split level, which gives it the wow factor.  The view of Lake Windermere was breathtaking from the lounge and balcony. Parking for 3 cars. Also, there is a back gate that leads directly to the town centre.  The kitchen was equipped with top-quality appliances and all equipment. There is a large family table for eating & socialising in the kitchen. There is a washing machine and dryer. There are rainfall showers and underfloor heating in ensuites. The linen is all top quality and luxurious. The outdoor space is impressive, with two separate dining areas. One thing that really stood out during our stay was the selection of helpful books. We couldn't be more grateful for the warm hospitality.
