The place was lovely , comfy and spacious but there were a few things that weren’t so great , no batteries for the tv remotes , the fire didn’t work , the shower water was kind of hot but the bath water was practically cold we had to boil the kettle and the delivery / pub next door was so loud smashing bottles , loud banging and chattering but apart from that the balcony was lovely the kitchen was great and the location was perfect one thing I will say the heating worked very well but maybe needed a few more instructions on how to work it
Hi
Jessica thankyou for your feedback we checked the fire it does work, you just need to follow the instructions on the side of the wall and hold the button in until it clicks , the water on the shower and the bath is a suitable temperature, we have no concerns, the heating you just turn the nozzle clockwise or anti clockwise depending on what temperature you would like the cottage it shows the temp on the dial.
Unfortunately we cannot help the surroundings the cottage is set in, it’s one of the best places for all the amenities that are a walking distance away.
Thankyou

"Had another lovely stay at the cottage."
Little noisy now there are more properties nearby but didn’t spoil our stay. Unfortunately previous renters had taken car park pass when they left the property which was a bit of a nuisance but we managed apart from one parking fine to park our car nearby. Sykes sorted the issue quickly and it was all resolved. Beautiful cottage a proper home away from home. Layout worked perfectly for us too. Lovely comfy beds and the dressing room was a real bonus. Our little dog had a wonderful time. The small 2 seater settee although comfy has seen better days. Other than that - lovely

"Our second stay at workshop cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it again."
Cottage is still in good condition two years on but little attention needed to touch up paintwork repair broken blind in living room and blind in downstairs dressing room.
Lots of technology but let down by no working batteries in the various remote controls.
All pretty minor issues and easy to remedy and nothing that spoiled a great week.
Glad you had a fabulous 2nd stay , we are addressing all issues we went to the cottage yesterday to check on everything , and also we are carrying update work out in October with a 3rd bedroom being added .
Thankyou for staying with us and for your feedback , and we hope you will like the updates when you return again in the near future.

"Great little cottage."
Very modern and all facilities you could wish for. Perfect location. My only constructive feedback would be to offer a 12noon checkout. 10am is too early. Also offer 2x sets of keys and 2x parking pass. As we were two couples who had to share the keys and pass and it was a pain. Other than it was great.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
We take all comments on board.
We do not offer guests multiple keys as we encourage guests to use the keybox provided. We are unable to offer more than 1 car parking permit.

"Amazing cottage right next to many shops and restaurants."
Superbly done up on the inside and its evident from the moment you step foot into the property that the owners have given a lot of thought while furnishing this.
What let us down was the approach to the cottage. It (almost) shares a door with the back entrance of a pub and there were loud noises in the middle of the night. Also, on one day we had a very large refuse bin with rubbish flowing out along with beer kegs left at the door step.
Thank you for your feedback.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
We are sorry that you experienced an issue with the pub. We will take a look at the listing to ensure that the information is correct.

We had a couple of issues and they are.
It doesn't state when advertising that the Westmorland Pub rear exit is next to the cottage entrance door. Staff us the entrance morning and night and slam the gates closed.
The hallway light sensor doesn't work and the light is on continuously and no way to turn it off.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and that you had an enjoyable stay.
Further to the comments, we will look at the information provided to ensure that it is accurate and up to date, and we will check with our Property Services Team regarding the hallway light.

The Smart TV, comfy furniture and modern kitchen facilities allowed us to make ourselves right at home.
The property is in an excellent location with the shops & restaurants of Bowness right on it's door step.
We had no issues with on-road parking, however I can imagine this being trickier in the summer months. There was a small amount of noise (no more than 30 seconds) on a couple of nights from workers leaving the pub, but nothing that would keep you up at night. Both pay offs that are worth it for being so central.
Would certainly recommend!

Facilities are second to none. Great location but such a pity that there is a gate for a pub right by the door. We were woken each night a couple of times by either staff or patrons noisily leaving, which I understand is no fault of the owners, but is just such a shame as otherwise would be perfect as it was unfortunately detrimental for sleeping.

"The cottage was very well situated in the heart of Bowness allowing access to all relevant activities."
It was well maintained and the kitchen had all the facilities required.
However, the property was very small and felt cramped. Also, it is situated behind a hotel/restaurant which produces a foul odour from its kitchen and places its industrial-sized rubbish bin at the entrance to the cottage. This meant that we were unable to enjoy the outside space at any point.
Also there are no views of the lake or surrounding countryside from the property as it is very enclosed.
Finally, there was some renovation of the next-door property going on at the time of our stay and the builders consistently started noisy work at 7:30 every morning.
Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. We are sorry that you were inconvenienced by the builders, however we have no control over this and are not always made aware of planned works, in order to inform guests. We are glad that you enjoyed the location and all it has to offer.

"The cottage itself was lovely."
Nice decor and cosy feel. Huge telly, pleasant lounge, good kitchen area and bedrooms comfortable. However the internet connection didn't work, but this was not really a problem as we had lots of data allowance on our phones. Think if you don't know the area the picture of the front of the cottage doesn't show where it is located, down a narrow lane with only the view of the side of jewsons. It was quite noisy in the mornings due to people walking by and from the pub next door. If this cottage was located in a better area, we would give it a 9!. So sad it's where it is, but could see if as a plus as very near centre of Bowness.
Thank you for your comments, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the cottage.

Terrace area a real suntrap and very private. Only the 2 of us and our little dog so didn't use the downstairs bedroom and dressing room. No signs of any unpleasant smells as mentioned in a previous review. Very well looked after, even outside areas swept and clean. Position of cottage is perfect, right in the heart of Bowness, about 100mts from lake and numerous eateries and takeaways on doorstep yet tucked away and quiet. "We’ve been coming to workshop cottage for nearly 7 years at the same time every year and loved it but when quoted over a £1000 plus when trying to book for next year and then being told if we come a day later 5th January 2024 for 4 days it will be £650 we made the decision not to rebook because as lovely as it is it isn’t worth that price for where it is placed - noise of the bins which was worse this year and no on-site parking - I have no objection to parking on the road with a permit but for that price I would accept on site parking ."
Also have you turned the temperature of the water down ? It never really got hot for a bath or shower like in previous years .
Would have been willing to return for £500 for 4days at that time of year .
We did take the opportunity to look at other providers and cottages in the area and for £600 we can get 3 bedrooms on site parking - 4 days stay - we viewed these cottages as well so know what we would be getting

"One of the nicest and best kept cottages I've ever stayed in."
A comfortable and very relaxing place. It undersells itself a little- it is opposite a very good cinema and a good bus stop with a regular service that will take you down the hill to the lake and to Windermere town, Ambleside, and to Grasmere. You can pay by card and get an all day rider so you can use the bus as much as you like.
This should be in the description as it is a major selling point!

The cottage is in a central location so no need to use the car if you don’t want to. The lack of parking may be an issue for some but was not an issue for us as we were able to offload at the door and got a space on street most of the time. Overall would definitely stay again.
Thankyou for the lovely feedback we are very happy as owners that any negativity is taken on board we absolutely get the parking issue , but we are glad you had a lovely time and you may consider to stay again .

There have been a few decorative alterations since we were last there. We found the property comfortable and homely.
A few minor issues such as there was a mug that was chipped and also a glass that was chipped I would have thought these should have been replaced. There was also only 1 toilet roll for 4 people for a week which we thought was a bit stingy seeing as it’s quality accommodation. The milk was out of date in the sachets that were in the tea/coffee box. A number of the spot lights in the lounge were not working.

However when we arrived we could not access the Wifi. We spoke to Lakelovers and were told that the owner would visit the property to resolve the following day (Saturday) When we returned in the evening there was still no Wifi, nor any evidence that anyone had attempted to correct the problem. Furthermore we had no communcation from Lakelovers/Owners regarding how the situation was to be resolved.
