"All I can say is Herdwick Cottage, was more than I'd expected."
I'd had a Lovely time, with my Dad, and had enjoyed my 62nd Birthday on Saturday 8th Feb, in the Market Town I'b been born in.
We managed to Visit Dads sister Winnie, 3 times over the Week (She is suffering Dementia, and will not remember her brother in the near future). We also Visited, My Mums side of the families Niece Jill.
I'd contacted Sally, to let her know I'd Left her a Sheep Themed Thank You Present, and afew other items, for the Cottage.
I had issues with The Sofas being too low, but solved the issue, by sitting on The Puffey, That brought me up to the level of getting up off the low level sofa. (Ironically, it was Dad that surgested the use of the puffey, to give me the height, I needed to get up off the sofa, without struggling).
The Welcome pack was well liked, Dad eat the Sweets in 2 Days. lol.
The Weather was colder than Dad, had remembered, thankfully I'd brought some thermal gear with me, and he was a lot more warmer and happier.
Both me and Dad are smokers (we was good boys and smoked outside).
A small Awing, that we could of opened, for when it was raining, would of been nice, (Ibought 2 umbrellas, from a Charity shop).
Almost everthing that was in The Cottage, including the left over coffees, tea bags, etc, was very much appreciated. I left my half of Hot Chocolate, for any other future guest, that would like it. and I left a big cup and some butter knives. (Some of the few items, I'd given towards the Cottage).
I will be booking from Sally again, next time I need to come up to Cumbria, from Kent.
As I got 7 days there, for the Price of 3 nights in a Hotel, and we felt more at home, which made the trip a lot more enjoyable than we'd even hoped for).
On the Way home, I went to My Son's (Nr Wigan). To see my New Grand Child Number 14, called Renesmae, who Arrived on 12th Feb. (and she slept the whole time, but considering - She wasn't due until 3rd of March.) lol.
You are welcome to use my aka Delstuart1963. (my first name and middle name combined).

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. The welcome goodies were much appreciated. Brampton is a lovely village and the cottage is ideally situated for easy access to the shops. The only downside is the church bells which chime throughout the night.
Thankyou Jennifer. So glad you liked my cottage. We love the bells!

"The cottage was a fantastic place to stay."
We loved the personal touches the owner had added around the place and it was very clean and welcoming. We will definitely be looking to book with Sykes Cottages again for our next UK holiday. We will be going to direct. Etc time rather than through Expedia who messed up the original booking.
Thankyou so much Lloyd. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay.

"The cottage was clean, well maintained and well equipped with everything we needed and more."
The beds were comfortable and the cottage was warm and homely.
Our only negative was the church bells that go through the night. Not great if you are a light sleeper.

"The property was very clean and very well equipped."
The lovely welcome hamper and Christmas decorations added to our family Christmas get together. A little confused by where "at the back" is for second vehicle parking. The parking space marked out for the cottage was fine but our second vehicle went to a free car park not too far away. Took us a while to fathom the heating, which was easy to use in the end. The child lock on the hob also provided an initial challenge but having the instructions was a great help. Wonderful shower and lovely large towels! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, inspite of very poor weather.

"Herdwick Cottage is amongst the best places we have ever stayed in."
The colours of the decor are excellent with friendly sheep watching you in every room. The quality of the kitchen and everything in it were the best we have ever experienced. There was just one thing you should be aware of before you book. If you are a light sleeper then this cottage might not be for you. The nearby church clock chimes on every quarter hour with each hour throughout the night marked with the corresponding amount of loud bongs. One of us got used to it by half way through the week, the other never did despite using earplugs. As much as we loved the cottage and the town and surrounding area we unfortunately won’t be able to return.

"Brilliant cottage with everything provided and then some."
Beds and couches were very comfortable. The town is a good base for lots of attractions with a lovely independent food centre five minutes walk away. Hadrians Wall, Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda are nearby and well worth visiting. Parking at The Sill Centre and walking along the wall to Sycamore Gap is really unforgettable whatever the weather.
Kids and adults enjoyed the Lakeland Pencil Museum.
Good food and huge ice creams at Hayton Farm just along on A69.
(The single bedroom was uncomfortably hot as the skylight would not open, so needs looking at)

"Fantastic cottage."
..newly refurbished to an outstanding standard. Everything you want or need for a holiday. The situation in Brampton is excellent just outside the main street in a lovely quiet mews. The owner certainly knows what people need for a walking holiday in Cumbria. We are in our late seventies now so our walks are less strenuous and there are plenty of these in the countryside around Brampton. Thank you so much.

"Amazing cottage."
Fully stocked - from the kitchen to the bedrooms. The decor is fantastic. The beds are very comfortable as is the property. Very safe and secluded. Would have like a hoover to give the carpet a once over in the evening. That said the place was spotless when we arrived. There was a welcome gift left by sally, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Sally. Continue as you are. It really is perfect.
